The Royal Palace of Laos
If you are visiting Laos, specifically in the city of Luang Prabang, then you must go for a trip to the Royal Palace!
Although the place is no longer the house for the royalties, it is now a museum which houses many interesting historical artefacts which you can learn all about the Lao history.
The place is a tastefully mixture of traditional Lao and French architecture style, and is amazingly beautiful.
Photos are not allowed in the palace itself, which on the other hand, gives a great opportunity for us to immerse ourself in the history.
Location wise, it is located right in the main city area, which is very walkable from all major hotels and guest houses.
Definitely recommended to visit here! #unforgettableexperiences #momentssg #scenicspotguide #summervacation

This palace is closed on Mondays, so make sure you come and visit on other days. You also need to wear appropriate clothes to enter. This place is not so big, 1 hour is enough to see around! #happynewyear #laos

The Royal Palace of Luang Prabang
The Royal Palace of Luang Prabang is an ancient palace with a prominent check-in spot called 'Golden Hall'. It is 120 years old and was built as a symbol of the relationship between Laos and France before Luang Prabang became a French colony. Another part is 'Hor Pha Bang', located within the Luang Prabang National Museum. It was once an old palace built during the reign of King Sisavang Vong. The building is a single-story structure elevated in French style, with a Lao-style roof. It beautifully combines colonial and Lan Xang art. Inside, various rooms display the belongings of the kings, and you can enjoy the intricate interior design. Photography is not allowed inside. In the evening, there is a walking street in this area for you to stroll around.

Laos | Guide to visiting the French town "Luang Prabang"~
| Guide to visiting the French town "Luang Prabang"~.
I finally came to Luang Prabang on the other side of the Random Gate!
🔶🔶🔶 "Everywhere you go, there are pagodas." The only place that can understand this scene is probably Luang Prabang, except for Bagan in Myanmar. There are many things to do here, including visiting temples, rice field coffee, street corner coffee shops, night markets, horse and chicken slaughter, etc. In short, time can go very slowly here!
🌟🌟🌟Must experience in Luang Prabang:
【Early morning street charity】
Every morning in Luang Prabang starts with giving alms on the streets. This has been the case for thousands of years.
The almsgiving started at around five o'clock in the morning. The donors would wait quietly on the roadside with rice baskets filled with glutinous rice, vegetables, fruits, bread and other food.
[Watch the sunset by boat on the Mekong River]
The sunset cruise is a must-experience. It’s best to ask a friend to charter a whole boat together. The boatman can stop at a suitable location for you to take photos, and you’ll have a great time taking photos.
💲Cost: Negotiate to 400,000 kip for a 1-hour charter
⏰Best time to play: 18:00-19:00 in the evening
【Xiang Thong Temple】
Classic Luang Prabang temple architectural style, the most beautiful temple in Luang Prabang, with a spectacular tree of life pattern inlaid on the back wall.
💲Ticket: 20,000 kip
⏰Play time: 30 minutes
【Luang Prabang Grand Palace】
This is a museum full of historical traces. If you want to know more about the history of Laos, it is recommended to visit it.
Best shooting position: the viewing point opposite the Grand Palace
💲Ticket: 30,000 kip
⏰Play time: 1 hour
【Kuansai Falls】
Guanxi Falls is 30 kilometers away from the old city and is known as Jiuzhaigou Valley in Laos. We chartered a car to go there. If you want to rent a motorcycle, you must pay attention to safety.
💲Ticket: 20,000 Lao currency
⏰Play time: 2-3 hours
【Amantaga Afternoon Tea】
The cover picture of Haruki Murakami's travel essay "What on earth is there in Laos?" is Amantaka in Luang Prabang. This building was built during the French colonial period in the early 20th century and was remodeled into Amantaga. It still retains its appearance more than 100 years ago. It is very Aman and Luang Prabang. If you feel that staying for one night is too expensive, you can come here for afternoon tea.
💲Afternoon tea for two persons: USD 65, plus service tax

Per Capita 2k | Luang Prabang Pure Enjoyment Travel Guide
| Luang Prabang Pure Enjoyment Travel Guide.
Luang Prabang in Laos is known as 'Chiang Mai from ten years ago.' It is a true 'slow' city! Here, the most common things we do are cycling around leisurely, drinking coffee, and turning the everyday life into a journey.
.
📔Basic Information about Laos
⏰Time Difference: Laos time is -1 from Beijing time.
🧭Navigation: Google Maps is recommended, and it can also be used to find restaurants, which is very reliable.
✉️Language: Laotians are not very good at English, sometimes speaking Chinese is even more effective than English.
🌧Climate: It is slightly cold in Laos in the morning and evening during winter, short sleeves are fine at noon, just bring a thin coat. Sun protection is necessary.
🎐Customs: Laos is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious country. Most temples have dress codes and do not allow exposed skin.
📞Phone Cards: It's cheapest to buy an international phone card in advance.
🕹Power Sockets: Remember to bring a converter plug.
🏠Hotels are very cheap, we spent an average of 1k per person which raised the overall expenses, but actually, you can stay in a nice hotel for just five or six hundred.
.
✨Several Must-Do Experiences in Luang Prabang✨
1️⃣Visit Temples and Museums
Luang Prabang is a famous ancient capital and Buddhist center of Laos. Strolling through the city, you'll find ancient temples everywhere, and most experiences here are also related to religion. Wat Xiengthong is a representative temple of Luang Prabang, and the Royal Palace Museum helps you understand the history and local customs of Laos.
Note: Skin exposure is not allowed when entering temples.
.
2️⃣Go to Mount Phousi for Sunrise and Sunset
Opposite the Royal Palace Museum is Mount Phousi, where you can overlook the entire panorama of Luang Prabang. There are various ways to enjoy the sunset; if you don't want to climb the mountain, you can also stay in a riverside café or restaurant, or take a Mekong River sunset cruise.
Duration: It takes 10-15 minutes to climb to the top of the mountain.
.
3️⃣Visit a Quiet, Clean Night Market
After dark, the road between Mount Phousi and the Royal Palace Museum turns into a night market, which is worth visiting. Unlike the bustling night markets in China, the vendors here are very Buddhist. The night market is clean and quiet. Passing through the night market is a snack street, where you can find a variety of international cuisines amidst the smoke.
.
4️⃣Get Up Early to Watch/Participate in Almsgiving
For the locals, this is a custom that has continued for hundreds of years. Day after day, regardless of the weather, this is perhaps the power of faith.
Time: You need to arrive at the main street before six in the morning.
.
5️⃣Taste the Local Lao Hot Pot
Here, Khemkhong view restaurant is recommended, you can follow the location to find dada cafe first, it's right opposite. Lao hot pot has grilled meat on top and meat slices to dip below, it's recommended to buy a set meal, the portion is generous, the meat quality is good, and the dipping sauce is exceptional.
Price: 40 yuan per person
.
🌿This city allows you to do nothing and just stay like that, it's very comfortable. Next time, I might consider staying for half a month directly.

Tranquil Traditions in Luang Prabang
Exploring Luang Prabang in Laos was a serene journey into a world where time seems to stand still, a town rich in spiritual heritage and natural beauty🌿. Nestled at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a tapestry of traditional Lao architecture, French colonial influences, and Buddhist temples⛩️.
The daily morning alms-giving ceremony was a profoundly humbling experience. Witnessing rows of saffron-robed monks silently receiving offerings from the locals offered a glimpse into the town's deep-rooted spirituality and community bonds🌄.
Strolling through the night market, I was enveloped in a vibrant atmosphere filled with the scents of local cuisine and the sights of exquisite handicrafts. The market is a perfect place to find unique souvenirs and to interact with the friendly locals🛍️.
A visit to the nearby Kuang Si Falls is a must. The turquoise waters cascading over limestone formations create a stunning natural swimming pool, a refreshing escape from the heat and a great spot for a leisurely picnic🏞️.

Laos Travel | Amazing Camera Angles of Luang Prabang Palace
For traveling to Laos, Luang Prabang is the first choice.
I really don't want to leave Luang Prabang. The original plan was to visit four cities, but now I've been staying in Luang Prabang, taking pictures of the scenery, drinking coffee and enjoying the breeze. When I get tired, I get a massage, which is very comfortable.
.
Luang Prabang Palace (Luang Prabang Royal Palace) is located at the foot of Phousi Mountain, next to the foreigner street. The palace requires a ticket and closes for lunch break, so if you just want to take beautiful photos, you don't actually need to go inside. The opposite viewpoint can take many beautiful photos.
📷[Camera position]
1.The classic camera position of the left diagonal viewing platform of the palace.
2. Sit in front of the stairs and take a photo, make sure it's straight.
3. Sitting on the bench on the platform, looking into the distance, feels very emotional.
4. Pretend to walk along the Palace Street, take a few shots and choose the best ones.
5. Shot leaning against the outer wall of the palace.
⚠️[Attention]
❶The night market tents will be set up after 4-5 pm in the afternoon, please go early for filming.
2. Morning alms, morning market, and night market are all located here.
❸The palace requires tickets, and is closed for half an hour at noon.
🏠[Other attractions]
❶Xiangtong Temple, but it's not very attractive, and there are a lot of tourists.
❷🚢Sunset on the boat, best time to board is from 5:30-6:30, perfect for taking stunning photos.
❸Puxi Mountain, opposite the Grand Palace, a hill that can be avoided.
❹Guanxi Waterfall, 30 kilometers from the old city, best to rent a motorcycle to get there.
