Great museum showing the art of making Dutch Delft Blue porcelain! There are audio tours available and sometimes even a guide for groups! The museum is not very big so you can see everything within 1,5hrs. There is also a small restaurant where you can eat/ drink something.
Come and visit if you are in the area.

Royal Delft Factory
#familytrips2024
Our family excursion to the Royal Delft Factory in the Netherlands was a captivating blend of history and craftsmanship. Stepping into the renowned pottery workshop, we were greeted by the sight of skilled artisans meticulously shaping delicate ceramics with precision and care. The kids were fascinated as they observed the intricate process of hand-painting traditional Delft Blue designs, learning about the rich heritage behind each piece. Exploring the museum's collection of historic artifacts and masterpieces provided insights into centuries-old techniques and artistic evolution. It was a cultural immersion that ignited our appreciation for the artistry and tradition of Delftware.
Looking ahead, our next family adventure awaits in the stunning landscapes of Iceland. We'll chase the Northern Lights across dark winter skies, explore dramatic volcanic landscapes, and soak in geothermal hot springs amidst icy landscapes. From epic waterfalls to rugged coastlines, Iceland promises awe-inspiring natural beauty and thrilling outdoor adventures that will create cherished memories for our family.

Delft Blue Pottery | The Jingdezhen of Europe
There is also a beautiful garden at the Royal Delft Blue Pottery Factory.
After admiring the beautiful artworks, head to the small café next to the garden, play with the blue pottery souvenir you just bought, bask in the sun, and daydream, enjoying a pleasant afternoon.
I've always been curious about the 'Jingdezhen of Europe' with its long history, so I took my child on a small (2 to Delft, the hometown of 'Dutch Blue and White Porcelain'.
🚗Transport: It takes 1 hour by train from Amsterdam Central Station. It's even more convenient from Rotterdam or The Hague, and it's recommended to visit Delft when touring these two cities.
You haven't really visited Delft if you haven't been to this museum! It's not that the exhibits are very comprehensive (many more historically valuable ceramics are displayed in other national museums), but as the only remaining ceramic factory in the city that has continued from the 17th century to the present, it can still give you a glimpse into the glorious era of the Dutch ceramic industry.
The most worthwhile thing to see in this museum is its ceramic production line that is still in use today, from mold making to painting, where you can see how a real ceramic factory operates.

Delft, the Netherlands, is famous for producing blue pottery. They improved the blue-and-white porcelain from China and formed a unique Delft blue pottery, which was highly sought after by the royal family and nobles. The
Royal Delft Blue Pottery Factory was founded in 1653. It is the only blue pottery factory that survived in the 17th century. It still uses traditional manual methods to make pottery, so every piece of handmade blue made here. Pottery is unique.
