The Town Of Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber
Germany is beautiful during the fall as the weather isn't too chilly in winter or too hot in summer. It's a great place to visit especially the small little German town of Rothenburg Ob De Tauber which is popular among the many olden medieval timber houses that you will see in your movies, which is almost identical!
This place is located up north of Munich approximately a 3hours drive which make this a very good roadtrip where you will pass many scenic features along the way, with endless greeneryand also stop by small little towns for a good pie or some German sausage and pommes!

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a German town in northern Bavaria known for its medieval architecture. Half-timbered houses line the cobblestone lanes of its old town. The town walls include many preserved gate houses and towers, plus a covered walkway on top. St. Jakob’s Church houses an intricate, late Gothic altarpiece by woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. The medieval Town Hall has a tower with panoramic views. The name "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" is German for "Red castle above the Tauber". This is so because the town is located on a plateau overlooking the Tauber River. As to the name "Rothenburg", some say it comes from the German words rot (red) and burg (burgh, medieval fortified settlement), referring to the red color of the roofs of the houses which overlook the river. The name may also refer to the process of retting ("rotten" in German) flax for linen production. The city was most likely inhabited by Celts before the 1st-century C.E.
In 950, the weir system in today's castle garden was constructed by the Count of Comburg-Rothenburg.
In 1070, the counts of Comburg-Rothenburg, who also owned the village of Gebsattel, built Rothenburg castle on the mountain top high above the River Tauber.
The counts of the Comburg-Rothenburg dynasty died out in 1116. The last count, Count Heinrich, Emperor Heinrich V appointed instead his nephew Konrad von Hohenstaufen as the successor to the Comburg-Rothenburg properties.
In 1142, Konrad von Hohenstaufen, who became Konrad III (1138–52), the self-styled King of the Romans, traded a part of the monastery of Neumünster in Würzburg above the village Detwang and built the Stauffer-Castle Rothenburg on this cheaper land. He held court there and appointed officials called 'reeves' to act as caretakers.

Germany actually has a fairy tale town that is sweeter than chocolate
walked around Germany, the most favorite is Rothenburg, this small town is so beautiful. Rothenburg is the essence of the German medieval town. It has not been destroyed by the war, and it has been repaired in the last 20 years. Its well-preserved old town recreates the medieval style.
1 Rothenburg is a relatively pure tourist city. Beyond the attractions, the city is dominated by souvenir shops, restaurants, cafes and hotels. The Old Town is small and can be reached on foot from all attractions.
If you want to enjoy a quiet town, it is best to stay in the city for one night, so that you can carefully look at this ancient and beautiful town in the early morning and evening when a large number of tourists do not appear.
2 One of the iconic landscapes in the city of Rothenburg, at the southern end of the old town, the stone road is "Y" shaped, with beautiful traditional wooden frame houses on both sides and a small fountain. The
3 clock tower platform on the market square can be climbed up to see the panoramic view of the town. Because it is a medieval building, the stairs are very narrow and there is a steep road.
Tickets: 2 Euros (tickets are bought at the top of the tower)
4Wrzburg to Rothenburg for more than an hour by train, you have to take a special line to get there.

The fairytale town of Rothenburg, the starting point of the romantic road
Rothenburg's German meaning is "red castle", the roof of the house is mostly dark red, small spires, wooden frame, the town is surrounded by a circle of walls and towers Still staying in the medieval style. Located at the intersection of the Romantic Road and the Castle Road, it is also the most medieval-style dream town on the entire romantic road. If you are also preparing for a romantic journey, Rothenburg is a place you can't miss anyway. Since the old town is too small, there is no need for any strategy. The arrangement of the spots does not pay attention to the order of the routes. It is already a pleasure to walk around. Give your feet to the stone road here and give your heart to the beautiful scenery in front of you, which is the perfect way to visit Rothenburg.
Walk a day in Rothenburg, a day of fairy tale life. Rothenburg's fairy tale flavor comes from the town's centuries-old bricks and trees, all the fairy tale elements are slowly integrated into this small town with the footsteps of time. When we were in Rothenburg, we met a rare and rare weather, and the blue sky with the orange roof was a natural fit. After a burst of filming, I heard the footsteps and the German language behind the scenes. Looking back, the black Zorro rode and came, and under the visual confusion of the surrounding buildings, I really thought that I had passed back. middle Ages. All the fairy tale bridges you can't imagine, Rothenburg is being shown to you in more ways than you think.
Come to Rothenburg, don't overlook the street window. Here, the window is not a window to sell goods, but the perfect embodiment of the owner's inner artistic accomplishment and imagination. A window is a world. It is not so much a window, but a stage of dreams and exquisiteness. It is a fairytale dream of girls.
Especially like the ancient towns like Europe, where the place is small, it is easy to play, the famous places have gone through it, and there is plenty of spare time to sit down and have a cup of coffee and observe the life of the locals. You don't have to hurry to hurry to worry about which point is missing, and travel sometimes needs such ample security. So I prefer this kind of town to a big and disorderly city.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, because there are several places in Germany called this place name. It is said that there are only 7,000 people here, but there are a lot of tourist groups. If you want to avoid crowds, you can go around the city walls and castle gardens.
Its not really good to see the valley from the garden, but its quite interesting to think of the four elements in the garden with four elements like water and fire. The top city hall can see the panorama. The various texts at the entrance are so funny. The top can only accommodate 20 people, and can only line up slowly. There is definitely enough time to see 360 degrees. Recommended local specialties "snowball", not imaginary sweet, crispy and delicious ~

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany
Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a beautiful town located on Germany's Romantic Road. The old town is surrounded by city walls with gates all around. Walking through the old city gates feels like stepping back in time. Rothenburg ob der Tauber was established on a plateau along the Tauber River around the 12th century. The town's name means 'Red Fortress on the Tauber River.' It flourished as an independent state with its own military and judicial powers. The town maintained its independence from other kingdoms until the 19th century, when it became a small state in Central Europe and joined Bavaria in 1802.
A must-see photo spot is Plönlein, a picturesque check-in point located near the southern city gate, where the Siebersturm tower stands across the road. The area is surrounded by half-timbered houses with gabled roofs along two converging streets.
Additionally, at Marktplatz in the evening, there is a Night Watchman tour. In the past, a night watchman would patrol and guard the city gates, blowing a horn made from an animal's horn to alert the townspeople of any unusual events (and they demonstrate this during the tour). The Night Watchman guides the tour through the town, explaining the history of each spot. If you're interested, you can join the Night Watchman tour for 10 Euros per person, payable at the end of the tour.

Global Autumn Pursuit | Rothenburg on the Upper Tauber River | The Medieval Jewel
This is the enchanting Rothenburg on the upper reaches of the Tauber River, which, despite having been through numerous wars, has fortunately preserved its intact old buildings.
This place is known as the jewel of the medieval era. The author specifically stayed here for one night to experience the different scenes of the tranquil town as the light and shadows shifted. Although the town's representative building is the gingerbread-like Schneeballen, the author prefers the Snake House shown in pictures four and five, which can be fully viewed from the ancient city walls and the ground.
✅Must Experience:
Be sure to stay for one night, take a walk on the town's cobblestone roads after 9 p.m., or catch a glimpse of the sunrise around 7:30 a.m.
