2025 Mumbai Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)

We started our journey from The Orchid Hotel Mumbai Vile Parle and called an Uber to take us to the entrance of Sanjay Gandhi National Park for 330 rupees. There was no sign at the entrance, it seemed like it was under construction. Walk inside and keep to the left to find the ticket queue for Sanjay Gandhi National Park, which costs 94 rupees per person. Once inside, you'll find bicycle rentals, buses, and private car rentals. From reading reviews and watching YouTube, most people choose to take the bus to the caves. I'm not sure about the price, but it was very crowded, so we didn't choose this option. The distance from the ticket booth to the caves is about 5 kilometers. Those who choose bicycles are usually foreigners or Indian couples enjoying a leisurely ride. If you're not physically fit, it's not recommended. The path has some gentle slopes, but as you get closer to the entrance, there's a steep uphill curve. We chose to rent a private car for 1550 rupees. The driver took us to the caves and waited for 1.5 hours before taking us back to the park entrance. Payment was made in cash after returning. The driver was a local resident of the park area and mentioned that their village has no water or electricity. He also showed us spotted deer living in the park. At the cave entrance, there's another checkpoint where you can get a discount with a Thai passport. After paying in cash, you can explore at your leisure and meet the driver at the agreed time. On the way back, we took an Uber for 320 rupees to the hotel. This concludes the self-guided tour of Kanheri Caves, without getting lost and saving money compared to a tour package.

The fitness center is equipped with a variety of advanced fitness equipment, so whether you want to do cardio or strength training, you can find what you need💪. The hustle and bustle of the day and the lights at night were mesmerizing. 🍱 The food was amazing! The restaurant served a variety of dishes, from traditional Indian to international cuisine. The Indian dishes were full of flavor, and the Western dishes were just as good. The dining environment was elegant, whether it was a romantic candlelit dinner or a casual lunch. 💆‍♀️ The leisure facilities were great. The gym was well-equipped, and the pool was spacious. The spa was relaxing, and the massage was professional. I felt completely relaxed and refreshed. 🌟 The service was the best part. The staff was friendly and attentive. They were always ready to help with any problem. Their attitude was warm and welcoming. Overall, the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai gave me an unforgettable experience. We recently had the pleasure of dining at Lake View Cafe and it was an absolute delight! From the warm and inviting ambiance to the impeccable service, every aspect of my experience was exceptional. The menu boasts a diverse range of delectable dishes, each crafted with precision and bursting with flavor. The chef's creativity shines through in every bite, making it a true culinary adventure. The presentation of each dish is a work of art, appealing to both the eyes and the palate.

Le cafe has been one of my favourite cafes in Chembur. It has been around for really long and it's always a pleasure to visit. The ideal time to visit is in the evening so that you can enjoy the sunset while you sip on your sangaria. We went on a Saturday evening and the place wasn't very crowded (thankfully). We ordered some coffee and some snacks. As always, food and beverages are yummy. They are currently running a hot dog festival and we tried one of those. Overall it is always a great experience. The staff is friendly, welcoming and courteous.

Lovely, quaint little place. Easy to find even though it has no street frontage… great food with good options for vegetarians as well and a decent selection of wines too. Enjoyed my evening there. Staff were helpful and polite. Service is a bit slow, but I did enjoy the extra time I got for conversation.

The Global Vipassana Pagoda is a Meditation dome hall with a capacity to seat around 8,000 Vipassana meditators (the largest such meditation hall in the world) near Gorai, in the north western part of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The Global Vipassana Pagoda is declared as one of the "One of Seven Wonders of Maharashtra" by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) in partnership with ABP Majha, a Marathi news channel; after they reviewed 350 destinations. The results of this selection were declared on 6th June 2013. The pagoda was inaugurated by Pratibha Patil, then President of India, on 8 February 2009. It is built on donated land on a peninsula between Gorai creek and the Arabian Sea. The pagoda is to serve as a monument of peace and harmony. The Global Vipassana Pagoda has been built out of gratitude to Sayagyi U Ba Khin (1899 - 1971), Vipassana teacher and the first Accountant-General of Independent Burma, who was instrumental in Vipassana returning to India, the country of its origin.

The Gateway of India is an arch-monument completed in 1924 on the waterfront of Mumbai (Bombay), India. It was erected to commemorate the landing of George V for his coronation as the Emperor of India in December 1911 at Strand Road near Wellington Fountain. He was the first British monarch to visit India. The foundation stone was laid in March 1913 for a monument built in the Indo-Islamic style, inspired by elements of 16th-century Gujarati architecture. The final design of the monument by architect George Wittet was sanctioned only in 1914, and construction was completed in 1924. The structure is a memorial arch made of basalt, which is 26 metres (85 feet) high, with an architectural resemblance to a triumphial arch as well as Gujarati architecture of the time.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (officially Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus since 2017, formerly Victoria Terminus (VT), Bombay station code: CSMT (mainline)/ST (suburban)), is a historic railway terminus and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The terminus was designed by a British architectural engineer Frederick William Stevens from an initial design by Axel Haig, in an exuberant Italian Gothic style. A must-do when in Mumbai. We did a tour of the Mumbai train terminal which was very interesting and gives you access to great views of the station and surrounding areas. You need to book in advance and we met our guide at the McDonald’s opposite the station. The architecture is amazing and the tour gives insights into Indian railways. The ticket was available on Book My Show. The staff at the museum entrance gave instructions to book here to gain access to the tour

#hotelreview I had the pleasure to stay at the Hilton Mumbai International Airport for just a night during one of my work trips. It was a delightful hotel experience and it stayed true to Hilton’s and the Indian hospitality. India has one of the best hotels thank to its staff’s hospitality and no doubt this was just as amazing. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure I have a seamless and comfortable stay. The rooms are well decked out and clean with comfortable bedding. The toilets too are well maintained and clean with marble finishing which showed the opulence of the hotel. As it was a short stay, I didn’t not manage to try out the food options in the hotel and option to order in room service. The operator was polite and food was delivered swiftly. Food quality was great as well with generous servings. My tummy was left very satisfied. If I ever have to chance to visit again I’ll be sure to book a longer stay here. Would highly recommend this hotel to travelers looking to stay near the airport.

Getting into the lobby greeted by this fresh smell of scent and a big arrangement of fresh red flowers are really showing a good ‘first impression’ of the hotel. It gives this classic modern interior that makes it looks unique, especially the gazebo in the middle of the building. Getting into the room, I was impress by how nice it looks like, the arrangement of the furniture are cleaver, and amenities provided are more than enough. It has extra items like cotton pad& bud, shaver and like more than 5 bottles of 500ml water in the room. Bed and pillow are super comfortable, it has this nice softness and no dust on it.

It was quite difficult to take a photo of this station. The area in front of the station is crowded with cars and tourists trying to take a photo. Early morning is probably the best time to go...
