Australia's Oldest Arch Bridge
A popular place to visit in tasmania after arriving would be the town in Richmond.
The Richmond Bridge holds an iconic symbol in tasmania being the oldest standing bridge in Australia since 1825. Now it is being recognised as the outstanding historic place being added to Australian national heritage list.
Although Richmond is a small town, it is a scenic town boasting an abundance of heritage listed colonial buildings. Nestled in the heart of the Coal River Valley wine region so a definite must see place when coming to aussie. There are also several old school bakeries, arts and crafts with many art galleries, or even antiquing, there is also a very interesting pooseum for kids who are really interested in the wonders of poop.
Richmond also has some local produce, since we know tasmania a self sustaining country where all their vegetables, meat dairy or all locally source. So you know the restaurants and cafe serving you are fresh from its backyard!

35 Days in Australia - Tasmania (4).
Day 4: Hobart
Today's destination is Hobart, where we will stay for two nights.
On the way, we stopped at the town of Richmond,
an ancient English town as quiet as a fairy tale. It is the earliest town in Tasmania, with the oldest stone bridge in Australia, Richmond Bridge, and the oldest Roman Catholic church in Australia, Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
The stone arch bridge, built in 1823, is said to have been built by prisoners exiled to Tasmania from England at the time. It has stood for 200 years and is still in use today.
There is also a prison site in the town (Richmond Gaol), which is the oldest prison in Australia, built in 1825, where you can see the life of early criminals. We only took a look outside. It costs AUS 12.00/person to enter, so we didn't go in.
Hobart is the capital and largest port city of Tasmania, Australia, located at the mouth of the Derwent River in southeastern Tasmania, covering an area of about 1,700 square kilometers. Hobart was founded in 1803 and is the second oldest city in Australia after Sydney. It is a city where nature and history blend.
In the evening, we strolled along the Hobart waterfront, looking at the docks with many ships moored and the forest of masts. There are several seafood restaurants here. We found a Chinese restaurant called "Full House Seafood". After eating burgers and pizza for several days, we immediately went in to comfort our Chinese stomachs.
