Beautiful island of Putuo
Located in the eastern islands (Zhoushan Archipelago) of Zhejiang Province, Putuoshan Mountain (Mount Putuo, Putuo Mountain) is the abode of Avalokitesvara and one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains in China with Mount Emei in Sichuan, Mount Jiuhua in Anhui and Mount Wutai in Shanxi. The sand in One Hundred Steps Golden Beach is golden, pure and soft, just like a carpet. The waves splash on the beach day after day, making a rhythmed sound ceaselessly. The board water with little rocky reefs is a wonderful attraction for swimming-lovers. Swimming is only allowed in daytime between May and August. It will be more pleasant to walk on the beach barefoot. Stepping in the tender sand and letting the waves touch your feet, you will be more than comfortable and relaxed. When night comes, the pure sky bestrewed with resplendent star will give a life-long memory.

PUTUOSHAN MOUNTAIN
Putuo Mountain is one island among 1390 islands of Zhoushan archipelago of covering an area of 12.5 square kilometers. The Fudingshan Mountain is the highest peak of this mountain with 300 meters high above the sea level.
Here, you can see a few temples, nunneries as well as monasteries. The beautiful landscapes along with the charm concerned with Buddhism make this mountain a sacred mountain.
The ancient architecture complex as well as historical spots remained in this mountain were built in several dynasties, including Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. This mountain once had 82 temples and 128 huts, which could serve 4,000 monks as well as nuns at its heyday. While you walk on the paths, you are likely to come across monks in kasaya.
Since this mountain is secluded and offers an evocative view of the ocean, it has long been regarded as the "pure land" in China. The average temperature of the whole year here is about 20 °C, making it a perfect place to learn about traditional Chinese culture as well as Buddhism. Also, you can see the bizarre rocks as well as queer cliffs everywhere. Along the line where the mountain connects with the sea, a lot of spectacular caves are very fascinating. The following attractions on Putuo Mountain Island are popular places to visit.

This island is filled with temples and people come here to pray. Best day to visit is not on the weekend. We came on Thursday and it was already lots of people, but it was not packed and crowded. As we were leaving the island on Friday, people were starting to arrive and it was very crowded. To get around the island, it is not hard. There are shuttle buses that you can catch, and pay as you go. On the bus station, it tells you the next bus destination, so you won't be lost. Really enjoyed the view from the cable car where you can have a bird's eye view looking out the island. It is not a mainstream tourist destination, but it is still good to visit! #solstice #urbanexplorer #summervacation #beachvacation #chinatravel

To say that Zhoushan's most famous scenic spot is Mount Putuo, Putuo Mountain is one of the four famous mountains of Buddhism in China. Nearly 10 million tourists come here this year. Putuo Mountain is the "net red" of Zhoushan. Putuoshan play, of course, bye bye, bye bye is also very particular:
1. Do not expose, exaggerated (avoid red clothes).
2. The sesame oil money can be cash, coins and five-yuan ten-dollar banknotes. At present, it is not possible to scan the sesame oil money.
3. Bye bye is best done before 12 o'clock, there is a threshold for entering the temple, and you must not step on the threshold. Male left female right, male first across the left foot, female across the right foot. The right side of the door to burn incense does not go back to the road, before washing Buddha, you must first wash your hands, first worship the middle Buddha, and then worship the rest of the Bodhisattva clockwise.
4. Wish: Tell the Buddha about his birthday and residence, what to do, don't be greedy, do not ask for more than three things, and then take three fragrances.
5. What to ask for each temple:
Puji Temple: Guanyin is here, so the incense is the most prosperous. A total of 8 halls Yuantongbao Temple: Guanyin is in the body. Generally, I wished that I would like to sing in the heart of the South.
Pu Xian Temple: Seeking work and career, and meditation in the heart of the "Nan Nothing Buddha".
Gangzang Wang Dian: Do the filial piety, and meditation in the meditation of "Southern Buddhism".
: For the rich man of wealth, seek for the fortune, and meditation in the heart of the "Southern Gambling Blue Bodhisattva".
Pumen Hall: Thousands of thousands of eyes Guanyin are responsive, seeking marriage and family.
Wenshu Temple: Studying for school, wisdom. Sanzhou induction hall: go to the devil, keep safe. Fayu Temple: seeking fame
huiji Temple: the island is the most spiritual
Shancai Cave: tourists and pilgrims will come here to seek fortune, most of the pilgrims are with two printed with more auspicious numbers Hundred dollar bills, then put the money back and forth on the words "Good Fortune Ancient Cave" and put it into the bag with the golden photo of the child with good money. Bring it back to the home, you can protect your family's wealth and prosperity. Guangjin.
The money that has been wiped can only be used for merit, donation and other good deeds, and cannot be used for ordinary consumption. The tribute is also very simple, just a packet of peanuts and Want Want Snow Cake.

📍Attraction: Putuo Mountain, also known as Potalaka, is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. It is known as the 'Buddhist Kingdom in the Sea and Sky' and the 'Holy Land of the South Sea,' located in Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province.
Preparations:
There is a luggage storage point on the left side of the entrance to the Putuo Mountain scenic area, but it closes at 4:30 PM. Please make reasonable arrangements according to your schedule.
Prepare some change in advance. Incense can be purchased at small shops at the entrance of temples in the scenic area. A large family bucket costs $38, and a small bucket costs $20, it seems. You can buy as needed (it feels like a small bucket is enough for two people).
Attraction Features:
Puji Temple: A place to pray for career, wealth, health, peace, marriage, and children.
Huiji Temple: The temple's Buer Famen Hall has a white jade goddess. Don't miss it if you are praying for children.
Fayu Temple: A must-visit temple for wealth and peace, and a place for single men and women to pray for marriage.
Nanhai Guanyin: The iconic building of Putuo Mountain and a solemn place for pilgrims to make wishes.
Purple Bamboo Forest: A place to worship and practice Guanyin, where you can also see the natural Buddha statue of Luojia Mountain.
Worship Guide:
Women should not wear short skirts, and hats and sunglasses should be removed when entering the temple.
Avoid eating meat on the day of worship.
Do not step on the threshold or take photos of the Buddha statues.
Sincerity brings efficacy. If your wish comes true, remember to fulfill your vow.
💗Other Tips:
Prepare some 1, 5, and 10 yuan notes in advance for the donation box (not mandatory).
Do not step on the threshold when entering the temple. Keep quiet inside the temple and follow the etiquette.
When taking photos, avoid photographing the front of the Buddha statue. Do not walk back the same way or burn incense again.
If visiting Putuo Mountain in summer, be prepared for sun protection.
If you want to pray at Putuo Mountain without being scammed, joining a small local tour group is the best choice.

Putuo Mountain One-Day Tour Guide
Visiting Putuo Mountain not only allows you to cool off by the seaside but also to worship and pray for blessings, making it very suitable for family trips.
For accommodation, you can stay on the island or choose a hotel near the Zhujiajian pier. The Yuelai Holiday Hotel we stayed at this time is very good, only a 10-minute walk from the pier, with clean and tidy rooms, a vegetarian buffet, and many dining options nearby.
Pay attention to the Putuo Mountain scenic area's official WeChat account in advance to avoid queuing on-site to buy ferry tickets and entrance tickets (choose the right time slot). We took the ferry to Putuo Mountain early in the morning, and both entering and exiting the pier was done by scanning our ID cards. The ferry ride is not long, and those without seats can enjoy the sea breeze on the deck. After disembarking, head straight for the shuttle bus station, where destinations are indicated, and scan a QR code to buy a ticket. If you're physically fit, you can also walk to some attractions. Our route this time was Puji Zen Temple—Bamboo Forest—South Sea Guanyin Statue. We mostly walked, but the scenery along the way is beautiful, and you can stroll leisurely. Now is the season when hydrangeas are in full bloom, and the hydrangea path at the entrance of the Bamboo Forest is too beautiful, extending all the way to the entrance of the South Sea Guanyin.
📝Note tips:
Puji Zen Temple is the largest temple with a bustling incense offering, so it's recommended to go early in the morning. Incense and flower tickets need to be paid in cash, and it's more convenient to bring your own lighter. The night view of the pier is also very beautiful, known as the 'Little Potala Palace.'

Mount Putuo in the South China Sea
Mount Putuo travel guide is as follows:
1. Time arrangement: If it's just for worshiping Buddha, plus the journey, 3 days is enough. One day to go, one day to return, and one day in between to worship Buddha slowly. There are no particularly special scenic spots on the island.
2. Transportation: Mount Putuo is on an island, you can first take a long-distance bus from the passenger station at Nanpu Bridge to Zhoushan's passenger center, then take a taxi to the pier to take a boat to the island.
3. Worshiping Buddha: Half a day's time is enough, Puji Temple is the largest temple on the island. There are also Fayu Temple and the South Sea Guanyin. There are shuttle buses between temples.
4. Precautions: It's best not to take pictures of Buddha statues when worshiping, but you can take pictures of the South Sea Guanyin. Do not make more than three wishes, don't be too greedy. Dress modestly and not too brightly when worshiping Buddha, it's best to eat vegetarian food that day. Remember to light incense with your left hand and insert it with your right hand, do not step on the threshold when entering the main hall, men should step over with their left foot first, and women with their right foot.
5. Accommodation on the island: There are many hotel options, which are basically quite ordinary, and the better ones are indeed not cheap.
6. Dining: There is a commercial street with a lot of food, and the prices are quite reasonable.

Grandma says that the Jin Tuo Mountain is very spiritual! But be careful before the clouds!
Setting off to Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan, my elderly grandma told my mom about many things to pay attention to, and now mom has passed them on to me, which I'm organizing to share with everyone! I hope all the sisters can achieve what they wish for!
1 Prepare paper money and coins in advance before going, put the paper money into the merit box, and the coins into the wishing pool.
2 It is recommended to wear long sleeves and pants, paired with a pair of comfortable shoes, as there is quite a bit of walking to do.
3
For tickets, search for 'Putuo Mountain One Code Pass' to get the Putuo Mountain grand ticket (full) and round-trip boat ticket (220 yuan/person) and you can enter directly by scanning your ID card.
4
You don't need to buy incense at the entrance, everyone will be given a portion.
5 When entering the temple, do not step on the threshold, women should step over with their left foot first, men with their right foot first, do not be impatient, stay calm and composed.
6 When taking photos, do not capture images of the Buddha statues, and maintain silence.
Light the incense with your left hand, and if there is a flame, do not blow it out with your mouth, but shake it gently to extinguish the flame.
8 When making a wish, you should announce your identity (your name, birth time, where you come from, what you are asking for) and the order of praying for blessings is as follows!!
Yuantong Treasure Hall (for peace) Puxian Hall (career) Ksitigarbha Hall (salvation,
Daxiong Treasure Hall (disaster relief and longevity) Pumen Hall (marriage) Wenshu Hall (education) Jialan Hall (wealth)
Sanzhou Response Hall (safety in coming and going)
Finally, I hope every precious child has a smooth journey and that all their wishes come true as usual

❣ The standing statue of "South Sea Guanyin" is one of the new landmark buildings on Mount Putuo, completed on October 10, 1997. It has a total height of 33 meters and is made with imitation gold bronze precision casting.
🪷 From the entrance here, there is a shaded path winding towards the standing statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, with floor tiles carved with lotus flowers laid continuously in the middle of this path. It is also from here that many devout believers start to slowly move towards the Bodhisattva with three prostrations and nine bows.
⏰ Opening hours: 6:00-17:30
🗺 Transportation:
🚶🏻♀ Walking: If you are staying in the Longsha community and are in good shape, you can first walk to "Puji Temple", then along "Baibu Sand", "Purple Bamboo Forest", and "Refusing to Go to Guanyin Temple" to "South Sea Guanyin". If there is a long queue at the dock, you can also walk directly to "South Sea Guanyin".

Help, beauties! Why am I only hearing about such a beautiful place now?
In Mount Putuo, there is an awe-inspiring place - the Guanyin Dharma Realm.
This magnificent building located in Zhujiajian of Zhoushan City is a cultural expo park themed around Guanyin, created with a budget of billions. It is also a sacred site for Buddhist worship. From a distance, its stunning appearance is enough to spark curiosity and anticipation about what lies inside.
🙌🏻 If you are interested in going, it is recommended to allow more time to fully experience the unique atmosphere of the place.
👉🏻 Route strategy:
Simply navigate to the Guanyin Dharma Realm. It is only 5 kilometers from the Zhujiajian Centipede Pier, and a taxi ride takes just 10 minutes. If you are playing nearby Zhujiajian on the same day, renting an electric scooter is very convenient, as you can park directly at the entrance without crossing the road.
🎫 Ticket price and 🕑 time:
💰 The ticket is 90 yuan, which can be purchased on-site or on the service number.
⏰ Opening hours: 09:00-17:00 (entry stops at 16:10)
☑ Visit strategy:
The altar has nine levels, currently open to the seventh.
1⃣ The first level is the Yuantong Treasure Hall, where you can write a blessing card outside the hall, then go inside to pray in front of the Thousand-Hand Guanyin and put the card into the blessing box. The entire hall is resplendent, making it an awe-inspiring sight!
2⃣ and 3⃣ levels feature an exhibition of gold and bronze Buddha statues from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the animated movie 'Putuo Luojia', which has four screenings a day at 10:30, 12:40, 14:10, and 15:50.
4⃣ The fourth level offers the 'Guanyin Nasumi' large-scale digital performance (light show), with four shows a day, and the best viewing position is on the 4th floor corridor.
6⃣ The sixth level houses the Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall (including the Han-Wei Hall, Tang-Song Hall, Ming-Qing Hall, showcasing the thirty-three incarnations of Guanyin Bodhisattva), and a sutra copying room (next to the toilet), where you can copy sutras (the personal experience takes about more than an hour, and if you have enough time, it is a very relaxing experience for the body and mind, and you can have the staff package it for you to take away).
7⃣ The seventh level has the Six Paths Guanyin Hall, Other-Power Guanyin Hall, and Putuo Guanyin Hall.
In summary, the overall experience here is fantastic. It is highly recommended for those visiting Mount Putuo for the first time to include it in their itinerary for a sacred and awe-inspiring journey!

Putuo Mountain Travelogue: A Pilgrimage of the Soul
As dawn breaks, I set foot on this ancient and sacred land, feeling like a devout pilgrim, filled with reverence and anticipation, I step into the embrace of Putuo Mountain. Here, mountains and waters coexist, clouds and mists flourish, as if it is a pure land between heaven and earth, accommodating the world's turmoil and noise.
The bell tolls of Puji Temple are melodious, like the echoes of time, piercing through the fog of history, awakening dormant memories. I stand before the Buddha statues, hands clasped together, silently reciting endless prayers. Those glittering Buddha statues, shrouded in incense smoke, appear mysterious and solemn, as if transcending the bounds of time and space, showing me a realm beyond the mundane.
The statue of the South Sea Guanyin stands atop a cliff, overlooking the vast sea. Her gaze is compassionate and wise, as if she can see through the suffering of the world, offering endless comfort and guidance. Standing at her feet, I look up at this great goddess, my heart filled with reverence and gratitude.
The sandy beach of Qianbu Sha is soft as cotton, and I walk barefoot upon it, feeling the caress of the sea breeze, listening to the jubilant song of the waves. Here, where the sea and sky blend, clouds and waters meet, it seems as if the whole world has melted into this golden beach, granting my soul an unprecedented release and tranquility.
In the bamboo forest of Zizhulin, the shadows of bamboo sway, and a gentle breeze blows. I immerse myself in this green ocean, listening to the whispers of the bamboo leaves, feeling the pulse of nature. Here, time seems to stand still, my heart becomes pure and transparent, merging with this pure land.
As night falls, I gaze at the starry sky from the window of my guesthouse, the Milky Way brilliant, stars twinkling. The temple bells echo in the night sky, like a melodious song, lulling me into slumber. In my dream, I see the silhouette of Putuo Mountain, hear the call of Guanyin, and feel a tranquility and harmony that transcends the mortal world.
Putuo Mountain is not just a mountain, but also a spirit, a faith, a pursuit. Here, I have undergone a spiritual cleansing, felt the true essence of life. This journey will forever be etched in my heart, becoming the most beautiful memory of my life's journey.

6. Worship clockwise inside the hall

The Putuo Mountain scenic area in Zhoushan, Zhejiang
I entered Putuo Mountain Island at 9 am and played until 4 pm when I left the island. There were so many attractions that I didn't have time to visit, so I only went to Huiji Temple, Baotuo Lecture Temple, Fayu Temple, Qianbu Sand, and the South Sea Guanyin Buddha. The attractions are quite far from each other, and I had to take a bus back and forth. I don't recommend walking; it's too far and too tiring. If you want to visit all the attractions, I suggest staying on the island for one night.
The taste of the coffee at the Xide Cafe at the top of the cableway is quite good! Then you can take off your shoes and walk on the beach, where there is a place to wash your feet. The South Sea Guanyin is also worth a visit, especially since it's so majestic and huge! Overall, Putuo Mountain is quite fun and worth a visit!
Like and follow for more attractions ❤

Mount Putuo
Mount Putuo, with Buddhist charm throughout the mountains, is a heavenly Buddhist realm. Strolling under the statue of the Goddess of Mercy by the seaside, one enjoys a sense of inner peace and compassion. Every blade of grass, every ringing bell, every pagoda is filled with poetry. Here, I have found inner peace and tranquility. The Zen of Mount Putuo wins my heart, for there are boats for the sea and paths for the mountains. May all that the heart desires be reached. The annual pilgrimage to Mount Putuo comes with fate and follows the heart. In this pure land, with three sticks of incense, may all wishes come true! Wishing everyone a successful year in '24, with continuous good fortune!

Putuo Mountain Blessing Trip: A Two-Day Spiritual Purification Journey!!
🙏🏻 Putuo Mountain Blessing Trip: A Two-Day Spiritual Purification Journey 🌟 Every year, I am drawn to the powerful energy of Putuo Mountain, which is not only a sacred place for blessings but also a paradise for spiritual purification. A brief one or two days is enough to immerse oneself in prayer, fasting, and meditation, experiencing tranquility and peace. 🌟 Transportation Guide
✈ Plane: It takes just over ten minutes from Zhoushan Airport to Zhujiajian Cihang Pier.
🚅 High-speed train: After arriving at Ningbo Station, take the bus directly from the adjacent Ningbo Bus Station to Zhujiajian Cihang Pier, which takes about an hour.
🚘 Self-driving: The pier has a parking lot, convenient for tourists driving themselves.
🚎 Island transportation: The island mainly relies on shuttle buses and walking, with bus services between temples, with ticket prices of 5 and 10 yuan respectively.
🌟 Ticket Information
The total cost of the entrance ticket and round-trip boat ticket is 220 yuan.
The incense and flower tickets (small tickets) for each temple range from 5 to 6 yuan, only cash is accepted, it is recommended to prepare sufficient cash and small change in advance to put into the merit box.
🌟 Accommodation Suggestions
Recommended accommodation areas include Xishan 2 District, Xishan 1 District, and Longsha 1 District and Longsha 2 District. I personally stay at the Putuo Xiaoyuan Inn every year, which is close to the pier and Puji Temple, within walking distance.
🌟 Blessing Itinerary Arrangement 🧡 Day One
After arriving on the island, the innkeeper usually comes to pick you up. The first stop is 1⃣ Huizhi Temple on Buddha's Summit Mountain, take the cable car up the mountain, with charming scenery along the way. After paying respects to the Buddha, you can enjoy a cup of coffee at Xide Coffee. Then proceed to 2⃣ Fayu Temple, next to which 3⃣ Shuangquan Zen Monastery is a great place for photo ops, especially the Buddha Heart Wall, which is very photogenic. Dinner at 4⃣ Changsheng Vegetarian Buffet, self-service style, 45 yuan per person, with a rich variety of dishes. After dinner, you can leisurely walk back to the inn and buy some blessing bag pendants as souvenirs (the next day they can be blessed at the incense burner of Puji Temple).
🧡 Day Two
Set out around 6 a.m. and walk from the inn to 1⃣ Puji Temple. There are breakfast shops along the way where you can try vegetarian noodles. Puji Temple is very popular, so it's recommended to go early to avoid the crowds. The walls on the left and right sides of the entrance of Puji Temple are hot spots for photo ops. Then head to 2⃣ Putuo Mountain Academy to write a postcard. After that, take the shuttle bus to 3⃣ Fanyin Cave, about a ten-minute walk away, where you can enjoy the magnificent seascape. 4⃣ Shancai Cave has a special custom where you can rub two 100-yuan bills on the stone tablet three times and then keep them in your wallet to be used when you return to Putuo Mountain the following year. Finally, go to 4⃣ South Sea Guanyin, light incense in front of the Buddha statue and walk clockwise around the statue to make three wishes. The Guanyin Temple and Purple Bamboo Forest are also located here, easily accessible by foot. After completing all the activities, return to the pier, and if time is tight, the innkeeper can help send the luggage to the pier.

Whether you believe in Buddhism or not, you can visit Mount Putuo
It has been overcast and rainy in the Zhejiang and Shanghai area. I booked a ticket to Mount Putuo for the 24th, anxiously unsure of what the weather would be like. Fortunately, I caught the only sunny day in these days.
Queuing for the boat and bus was pretty smooth, and I went straight to the destination. We didn't want to take the cable car to the top of the Buddha, so we walked down the trail instead. The scenery along the way was picturesque, with clear skies and fresh air.
The first attraction was the Ancient Buddha Cave. Looking down, the temple looked brand new, so why call it the Ancient Buddha Cave? Curiosity led me down into the cave in the courtyard. Inside the cave was a Buddha statue and a spring. About twenty devout followers gathered in the cave, each taking spring water from the hands of the monks. I inquired and found out that the Buddha statue was erected at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, and later reconstructed. The cave and the spring are quite old.
Continuing downhill, we arrived at Fayu Temple, one of the three major temples of Mount Putuo. This was my favorite place. The towering ancient trees framed the yellow monastery walls, deep and serene. The adjacent beach was a great place to relax and play. Between the temple and the beach, there was a grassy area like a green carpet, with a pond embedded in it, where the reflections of palm trees and goldfish swam together in the pond. If Mount Putuo is a paradise on earth, this place could be considered the paradise of Mount Putuo.
I wanted to take a bus to Puji Temple, but seeing the long queue, I decided to continue walking.
Puji Temple was even more crowded, with everyone holding incense and worshipping in all directions. I was worried about blocking the path between the worshippers and the Buddhas.
After that, I walked to the Purple Bamboo Forest but didn't enter. The mountain gate faced the sea, offering a broad view.
Not far away was the statue of the South Sea Guanyin, which was not very interesting, and the 6 yuan ticket was not worth it.
After walking all the way, 7-8 kilometers, more than 30,000 steps, I was really exhausted. Personally, I think the scenery from the cable car station to the Ancient Buddha Cave is the best. The trail down from Fayu Temple barely has a view of the sea, and it's crowded, so taking a bus is a better choice.
A complaint about the transportation in Mount Putuo. The day we went was a weekday, and the driver said it's almost this crowded every day, and much more so on holidays. At several major stations, there were dozens to hundreds of people, and at small stations, it was impossible to get on because the buses were already full. It's clear that there are not enough buses, or the arrangement is unreasonable.

May Day Pilgrimage to Mount Putuo
Day1
Arrive at the island, and the innkeepers generally come to pick you up at the dock. The first stop is 1 Buddha Top Mountain Huiji Temple, where you need to take a cable car up the mountain. The scenery is quite nice (picture 18). After paying respects to the Buddha, you can enjoy a cup of Xide coffee. Next stop is 2 Fayu Temple (picture 4). After visiting Fayu Temple, you can go to the nearby 3 Shuangquan Zen Monastery for a photo shoot. Inside, there is a Buddha Heart Wall that is particularly photogenic (picture 3). Have dinner at 4 Changsheng Vegetarian Restaurant (picture 15), buffet for one person at 45, with a rich variety of dishes. After dinner, stroll back to the inn and buy some lucky bag pendants (the next day you can go to Puji Temple incense burner for blessings).
Day2
Leave around 6 am, walk from the inn to 1 Puji Temple. There are breakfast shops along the way, where I had vegetarian noodles. Puji Temple is the most popular, and it's better to go earlier when there are fewer people. On the walls to the left and right of the entrance of Puji Temple (picture 8) are respectively: Namo Amitabha Buddha and Namo Guan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, where you can take photos and check in. At Mountain Academy (picture 5), I wrote postcards. To 2 Fanyin Cave (picture 6), take the bus to Fanyin Cave station, and a ten-minute walk will get you there. It's beautiful and you can see the sea. 3 Shancai Cave, prepare two 100 yuan notes, rub them three times on the stone stele, and then keep them in your wallet without spending them. Spend them the next year when you come back to Mount Putuo. 4 Finally, go to Guanyin, light incense in front of the Nanhai Guanyin statue and walk clockwise around the statue to make three wishes. You can also visit Guanyin Temple and the Bamboo Forest, which are all within walking distance of each other. Finally, head back to the dock to end the trip (if you're in a hurry and can't return to the inn to get your luggage, the innkeeper can deliver it to the dock).

The Buddhist temples and Zen forests of Mount Putuo
Mount Putuo, one of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism and a famous site of worship for the bodhisattva Guanyin, is known as the 'Buddhist Kingdom in the Sea and Sky' and 'Holy Land in the South Sea.' It is acclaimed as the 'foremost serene place in the human world'.
There are numerous ancient temples on Mount Putuo, scattered throughout the mountains and forests, in caves, and along the paths, truly embodying the saying, 'Where the mountain bends, a temple hides; when the path ends, a monk appears'.
Puji Temple
With a long history and profound culture, surrounded by pagodas and pools, guarded by ancient trees, it is solemn and majestic, with a royal aura.
Fayu Temple
Built against the mountain, shaded by ancient trees, with dragon carvings on the walls and precious relics in the algae wells, it is quiet, elegant, and spiritually charming.
Huiji Temple
Atop the mountain, amidst dense forests, accompanied by strange rocks and occasional mists, it is a place where the fragrance of incense marks the pilgrimage, and the peak of the Buddha touches the sky.
South Sea Guanyin
With all the trees in full splendor, the glow of dawn reflecting off the waves, the treasured statue stands tall, with an imposing presence and a dignified Dharma appearance, showing compassion to all beings.
Baotuo Lecture Temple
Nestled between mountains and sea, with twin bays side by side, its towers soar into the sky, and its corridors follow suit, magnificent and splendid, spreading the Dharma and preaching the scriptures.
Due to time and physical constraints, I did not visit the Purple Bamboo Grove, the Mahayana Zen Monastery, or Mount Luojia. I will pay my respects next time.

Mount Putuo, truly a journey worth the effort
Mount Putuo, a sacred place of Buddhism, a pure land on earth. Stepping onto this island is like entering a secluded fairyland. The mountains are lush, the sea is clear, ancient temples are hidden away, and the sound of bells and chimes cleanses the soul.
Walking along the paths of Mount Putuo, with towering ancient trees on both sides and the fragrance of flowers in the air, one may occasionally see a devout pilgrim, holding scriptures and praying silently. Between the temples, incense curls, and the statues of Buddha are solemn, inspiring awe in the hearts of visitors.
The waters of Mount Putuo are clear and transparent, and the beaches are fine and soft. Standing by the sea, listening to the waves hitting the rocks, watching the seagulls soar in the sky, one's mind naturally broadens. As the sun sets, the afterglow sprinkles on the sea surface, the sparkling waves are overwhelmingly beautiful.
The night on Mount Putuo is even more peaceful. Moonlight spills over the ancient temples, highlighting their ancient charm. The occasional sound of chanting allows one to feel a sense of tranquility that is detached from the mundane world.
A trip to Mount Putuo is not just a physical journey, but also a purification of the soul. Here, people can let go of worldly troubles, meditate, and appreciate the beauty of nature and the profundity of Buddhism.

With many devout people, we went to the island together~
I visited the two largest temples on Mount Putuo, Puji Temple and Fayu Temple, to pray
Praying for peace and smoothness in the new year, that's happiness~
Since I had a full breakfast at the hotel, I didn't need to eat at noon and kept walking around the island
Due to the large number of people on the island shuttle bus, I had to walk down the mountain
Walked all the way to the dock at 3 pm, with 20,000 steps👣 exhausted
Rushed back to the hotel for dinner, yellow croaker🐟, big shrimp🍤, braised pork🍖
Three people flaunting the joy of 8 dishes, who understands!
.
Day3️⃣ Recovering physically🔜 Getting ready to return🔙
Suffering from sore legs due to the aftermath of the long walk, it's not suitable to plan big activities today
But if you have the energy, you can still go swimming~ workout~ walk the kid at the hotel!
As for me, a little chicken, I can only rest! Fortunately, the hotel has a nice view
It's suggested to walk down to the seaside from the lobby, a surprise seascape awaits you!
There's a viewing platform here, with Wushi Pond and the sea in full view
The sea breeze seems to erase all the fatigue of the day
At this moment, all the anxiety and restlessness of the city have dissipated
I think I've found the meaning of my trip to Zhoushan❣️
To hustle in the city but not forget to enjoy the sunset and the seascape
Always have good intentions towards others, and be understanding and tolerant of the ordinary self
Mount Putuo, we will meet again🤍

Take the island bus🚌, this trip took me about 5 hours, if you have plenty of time, you will pass by Luojia Mountain, to go to Luojia Mountain you need to take a boat, and there are very few trips
🔆For this trip, I chose a business boat, 100 RMB per person, which allows you to skip the queue, about 20 minutes per trip, be sure to bring your ID card, otherwise you will need to print a temporary ID card to buy tickets, bring RMB, as the temple requires buying tickets and does not accept mobile payments, and there are shops in the scenic area where you can exchange change

Putuo Mountain Scenic Area
Speaking of Zhoushan and Putuo Mountain, I consider myself quite authoritative, having visited three times with different people. Each experience was unforgettable, and each trip felt like a spiritual journey. Traveling with friends, family, or colleagues, fully relaxing is really great. I hope the experiences I share can help everyone who loves traveling just like me.
The most recent trip was with my best friend to Zhoushan, where we had fun for 3 days, and it was the happiest one. On average, each person spent just over 800 yuan, which is a lot less than my first visit. This time, through a friend's recommendation, we found a local quality free travel service in Putuo Mountain. They took us around, and our hotel, tickets, and meals were all arranged by them. They were very humorous and patient, saving us a lot of trouble. Most importantly, Xiao Hui can plan the essential attractions for you according to your time and preferences, saving you from taking many detours. Highly recommended.

🍃A must-do little thing on Mount Putuo, unlock a different Mount Putuo. A must-visit place when you come to Zhoushan is Mount Putuo. Many friends often use weekends or short holidays to make pilgrimages to Mount Putuo, but actually, a journey of spiritual purification should never be rushed. Only by slowing down can one truly find oneself~
🌆Sunrise
If you miss the sunrise on Mount Putuo, you will definitely regret it.
The grey sea gradually gives rise to a bright orange hue, the tender colors of this moment seem to be mixed from all the beauty and hope in the world. No matter how many times you've seen it, it still makes your heart skip a beat. The current weather is not too cold, the morning breeze gently carries the salty sea air, and the white noise of waves hitting the rocks is super healing. Start a brand new day here.
🌆Sunset
At sunset, the sea breeze disperses fatigue, the sky is a patch of orange-red, and the warmth of the sun and the scenery between the mountains and waters are more pleasant than in the city.
Watching the sunlight cast from different angles, weaving constantly changing shadows, walking among them is like being in a time tunnel. Or running on the Hundred Steps Sand, you can see the golden sunset blending into the flowing sea, wave after wave coming for you, to call it a dream would not suffice to describe this romantic phenomenon
✨TIPS: Best places on Mount Putuo to watch sunrise and sunset: Thousand Steps Sand, Hundred Steps Sand, Buddha Top Mountain, Chaoyang Pavilion, South Heaven Gate, South Sea Guanyin Plaza
🌆Night
👍The night on Mount Putuo is more humane than its daytime. Eating stir-fry that you can encounter just by walking around, sitting by the roadside with friends, spacing out, counting the stars you can't see in the city, tomorrow will be another sunny day.
There's the taste of facing the sea, the faint scent of incense, the sound of waves to accompany you to sleep, all the beauty of nature is here, this is a unique experience on Mount Putuo.
👐If you have been to Mount Putuo, I think you already know all the strategies for worshipping Buddha. Let these little things unlock a different Mount Putuo for you.

Putuo Mountain | Between working and advancing, I choose to offer incense
I have been coming to Putuo Mountain for the third consecutive year! This year, I booked my accommodation half a month in advance to reserve the long-awaited Ruyi hotel, which was always too popular before.
The hotel will call the day before check-in to ask about the approximate time of arrival on the island and arrange for a vehicle to pick up from the pier. Although the hotel's facade is not big, the whole environment is quiet and full of Zen. Moreover, the front desk upgraded our room type, and the room window is right by the pool.
The room facilities are a bit old, but you can tell they are well-maintained. The bathroom has a wet and dry separation.
The hotel is very close to Puji Temple, about a 5-minute walk. Coming out of Puji Temple and walking a few hundred meters on the left-hand side is the popular Xide Coffee, which is very tasty .
If you want to go to Fayu Temple and South Sea Guanyin, take the bus from the parking lot of Puji Temple.
For dinner, you can go to the Yuanzhiyuanwei Restaurant opposite the hotel, or walk a little further to the Jujube Tree Vegetarian Restaurant, both are quite delicious.
In the evening, you can light incense and copy scriptures in the room, or go see the hotel's 'little museum'.
The next day when checking out, the hotel apologized for the noise from the room next door the previous night. We didn't expect that they had been paying attention and reminding the next room, which was a big plus.
If you need to worship Buddha during your trip, you can choose to store your luggage at the front desk, or contact the hotel to have them deliver your luggage to the pier.

Once again, I find myself at Mount Putuo | Strolling through the small city of Ningbo and the little islands of Zhoushan in the springtime
| Strolling through the small city of Ningbo and the little islands of Zhoushan in the springtime. The mountain is in the sea, and the sea is at the foot of the mountain
-
This is my second visit to the Putuo Temple in Zhoushan, and I took some time to wander around Ningbo. This trip was a bit different from the previous one; amidst the leisure, I encountered the beauty of the small city and the small island.
-
✈️Transportation
Sleeper train from Wuhan to Ningbo, head to Juxian for breakfast with rice cakes in the morning (the breakfast place is within walking distance from the station), then take a bath at Riyue Bathhouse (after all, I spent a night on the train, everyone should check it out, the price is really surprising).
You can also consider flying to Ningbo, as the Ningbo airport is quite close, or you can choose to fly directly to the Putuoshan airport in Zhoushan. But since you're here, it's worth taking a stroll around Ningbo.
-
Delicacies
Having been here twice, I really feel that the local delicacies are best in Ningbo. After all, Zhoushan is generally about seafood, but now fresh seafood is available everywhere, so it's not like it has to be Zhoushan. Let's talk about Ningbo's food.
⭐Quzhou No.1 Local Cuisine Restaurant: Quzhou green tomatoes fried with cured meat, the cured meat is crystal clear like a prism, and the oil fragrance is full.
⭐Yongji: Sweet-tasting, suitable for friends from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, the four-happiness gluten is quite interesting.
⭐Ninghai Seafood Noodles: The boss is very enthusiastic, and it has the Ningbo flavor (after eating, you can walk to the Drum Tower)
⭐Lingmei Seafood Porridge: A well-designed small shop, the products also have that tone (next to Moon Lake, go for a coffee after eating)
-
☕Coffee
Ningbo's coffee shops are surprisingly good, with different styles that you can't see in other cities
⭐Coffee and cigarettes: A small, clean shop with style, the bar was full of people when I arrived, and the owner was busy.
⭐Click Pharmacy Beast: A pretty cool coffee shop, styled like an abstract painter, and they also have coffee for fitness enthusiasts, haha
⭐Yaoxing Street Tea Drink: Located inside the national medicine hall, it's nice to drink some Chinese-style tea, and the interior is really good-looking, with a well-captured Chinese style.

🚌From Zhoushan to Mount Putuo
We took the bus to Zhoushan at night, staying by the seaside at Shenjiamen, and there's a luggage storage at Ningbo station. The bus station is right next to Ningbo Railway Station, which is really convenient. We took the bus after 3 PM to watch the sunset over the sea on the bus.
We stayed overnight at Shenjiamen and didn't go to Zhujiajian to take a boat this time. Instead, we took a boat from the Banshengdong Passenger Terminal at Shenjiamen, where there are fewer people. After arriving at the Putuoshan pier, we bought the Putuoshan tickets on the spot.
-
Once we arrived at Mount Putuo, the weather cleared up, and I got to see a different side of Mount Putuo under the sunshine. The Baibu Sand Beach opposite the Puji Temple is still so comfortable. A brief escape from the crowds, the beauty and comfort of Mount Putuo are all given by this beach.
-
This time, the itinerary started with a visit to the South Sea Guanyin, then to the Puji Temple and the Fayu Zen Temple. The weather was good on the weekend, and there were really a lot of people. It's still important to emphasize getting up the mountain early. Now, to take the bus on Mount Putuo, you have to queue up. To avoid delaying the trip, remember to get up early in the morning. If you plan to stay overnight in a guesthouse on the mountain, you'll have more time. I saw some new hotels under construction, so there should be more accommodation options on Mount Putuo in the future.
-
🚌From Mount Putuo back to Ningbo
On the way back, we still took a boat directly to the Zhujiajian pier, because there is a bus that goes directly back to Ningbo. One thing to mention is that the Luckin Coffee on Mount Putuo doesn't have the 9.9 deal, but the Luckin Coffee at the parking lot of Zhujiajian pier does. So, after coming down from the mountain, you can go have a drink.
-
After returning to Ningbo, we stayed for one night, visited the Drum Tower, ate the aforementioned seafood noodles, had coffee, and the temperature was just right these few days. The comfort of the small city was very pleasant. Ningbo is actually quite big, and next time I will plan to visit the surrounding areas of Ningbo, such as Fenghua, Xiangshan, and the reef beach.
