The origin of the name of Lion Island is quite interesting: it is said that in ancient times, when a messenger came to this island to look for fragrant wood, he suddenly saw a giant lion, and after being frightened, he named the island Lion Island. This small island has a special geology, and there are many plants and animals. It is a beach with original features. You can have a picnic here and swim freely in the surrounding waters. At present, the local government has turned it into a permanent reserve for birds and wild animals, an open virgin forest park, covering an area of about 640 hectares. Here, you'll find monkeys, wild deer, peacocks and giant lizards, free to roam around the island and enjoy their time at ease. There are not only rare animals such as mouse deer, wild boar, and peacock on the island, but also a suspension bridge, tree cave dwellings and a cross-country trekking about 17.3 kilometers long. You can have a picnic by the stunning sandy beach or swim and snorkel in the nearby waters. In order to protect the natural ecology of the island, no hotels or hostels have been built here. However, the local government encourages tourists to camp here. Camping equipment on the island is also rented at reasonable prices, and there are bathrooms and toilets for tourists to use.
