PulauAman, as the name suggests, is an island that exudes a sense of calm. You can call her "Oman Island" or "Peace Island", because no matter which name it is, it is applied just right, one is her national homophonic, and the other is her national meaning. This small island in southern Penang has about 300 villagers, most of whom make a living by fishing. If you arrive at Oman just when the fishermen are fishing home, you can not only buy fresh seafood, but also ask "Fisherman's Wharf Terapung Restaurant", which is about 200m away from the passenger terminal, to cook seafood dishes for you. The restaurant's signature dishes are prawn noodles and fried rice, paired with fresh, meaty, and juicy prawns that make your mouth water before you even taste it.

Iconic Pulau Aman , Penang , 🇲🇾 ❤️
Pulau Aman is an island off the coast of Bukit Tambun, Seberang Perai. Located on the southeast of Penang Island, Pulau Aman covers 288 acres. An idyllic Malay fishing village, Pulau Aman is known for having the oldest Sukun (breadfruit) tree in Malaysia. Pulau Aman is reachable by ferry boat from the pier at Bukit Tambun. Park your car in the open space in front of the pier. There is a big signboard pointing to the jetty for Pulau Aman, but apart from you, I guess you need to ask around for direction

Nice place & good for fishing.
Nice place & good for fishing.
The compact size and idyllic environment of this islet make it a pleasure to walk or cycle (rental bikes are available at the jetty for RM2 per hour). For nature lovers, a hiking path to the top of a forested hill reveals panoramic views that stretch all the way to Penang island.
There’s no better introduction to how much diminutive Pulau Aman is than its namesake jetty. This is where boats back to the mainland and charter boats to either round-island angling or nearby Pulau Gedung depart from.
Made of wood and floating, Jeti Pulau Aman is the best introduction to this car free island.
Pulau Aman is home to a Malay fishermen community of about 250. They live in a village clustered around the Pulau Aman Jeti. It’s an interesting place to come see how coastal Malay culture still exists so close to a developed powerhouse like Penang island. Walk around, and if you speak some Malay, you’ll be able to easily strike off conversations — the folks here are laid back and rural, and love a good chat from the odd visitor.

Harvest Mussels
After that, we tried our luck to harvest some mussels (kepah) along a stretch of beach. Surprisingly, we managed to collect many of them. Other local tourists were spotted harvesting mussels on the beach as well.
I never did this before but after trying it myself, I enjoyed the new experience.
I will bring all the mussels that I have collected to one of the nearby restaurants on the island and ask them to cook it for me.

Later on, we went to the Warung Kak Timah to have our lunch because we know that our journey would not be complete without trying its famous ‘mee udang’ (prawn noodles). And it was worth it!

The Best Place !
Wonderful Island experience. Beautiful scenery by the ocean and great for those who love fishing. Jetty nearby design village batu kawan. Less than 5minutes Boat ride to the other side of the island pulau Aman. RM7 per person pay on the spot. Reached the seafood restaurant at 11am. Too early so had mee goreng while waiting for the fresh seafood delivered around 12.30pm by the fishermen. Tasty fried noodle mamak style. The soup base noodle is not that tasty. Seafood depend on the catch of the day, big prawns, flower crabs, fresh fishes and the mantis prawns. Separate charges for cooking the seafood. Steam/BBQ. After taking off the mantis prawns shell, nothing much left but a fresh tiny meat. Price depending on the availability and crowd of the day. Felt overcharged on that day. Maybe the crowd keep coming in yet the seafood is limited.good business. Good experience.#mytripvlog #spooktaculartrip #tripblazers #awesomepic #couplestrip #fallingforfall

Peaceful place!
Aman island is a Malay fishery island. The island is famous with their fresh seafood & natural rural environment. A good place to relaxing ourselves.
To us City dwellers, this island is the most laid back & practically out of the data of tourists. A small enclave of Malay fishermen whom would bring in their catch to the tiniest of restaurant on this island. We counted less than 50 inhabitants, probably slightly more.
The freshness of the sea catches, prawns - crabs - mantis prawns large & small, fishes were all still swimming. We missed this place everytime that we passes Penang 2nd link after the 27 kilometers of its bridge., and didn't have enough hours taking a joyride across in a small boat of around 10 pax. Pay just RM$7 now (was just RM6 for a two ways.
We recommend a half day - day trip but please start off in the morning. The quiet pier just after the car park on a slight slope., where toilet facilities are available.
Dropping by this kampong was liken to a trip into nostalgia in the 70s.
Don't be taken in by your tour guides, because to bring you in could not reap them a small reward of time & commission lost, so they rather falsely inform you that the restaurant owner is eccentric & only knows one style of cooking - Steaming all its catches (wont that be the best to bring out the freshness of the sea - if you are seafood lovers). Next, the hands of the restaurant chef (the one & only) is injured - these are all bluffing. So friends who reads these, please believe in yourselves or go on this hidden treasure tour.

A small island, you can come to eat seafood here, the seafood here is cheap, the seafood is freshly salvaged, very fresh, very delicious.
Delicious prawn mee can be found here. Pulau Aman is a tiny island not far from second Penang Bridge. homestay package or staying with foster family especially for the teenagers is the best way to experience the life of locals mainly fishermen

Pulau Aman Trip
My latest vacation was at Pulau Aman. It is one of small islands that located around Penang. Pulau Aman is a small village with capacity around 300 villagers. There are numbers of chalet to rent range around MR70-RM200. There is room type, dorm type and even a house of the rooms to choose.
Well anyway, how to get there ? The jetty is located at Batu Kawan, near to Batu Kawan Stadium. The boat fare is RM6 for 2 ways. The only problem if you were on your first time to go there is you dont know who to contact. The information given (even if you google it) is not enough. I was lucky on the day I reached there, there was a boy name Rahim who help us to find a chalet. (His auntie is the owner.
We started our fishing activities that night from the chalet's balkoni. The next day, we went fishing at the new jetty and alhamdulillah, we managed to catch some fish :)

I come, I See & I Hunt
Public transport from Georgetown to Jetty Cassia-because by road, one follow the signboard for Jetty Cassia, then only one will come to Jetty Batu Musang for the ferry to Pulau Aman.
Previously one gets there from the Bukit Tambun jetty, but the journey takes like 30minutes whereas from Batu Musang, only 10mins or 15mins.I think now all ferry to this island departs from Batu Musang ferry pier(Batu Kawan).
I do not have the latest ferry schedules from Batu Musang- possibly some local DE in Penang could advise.
Last I remember, ferry fare(return) was RM6 from Bukit Tambun
