Tokyo suburbs 🍀Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza (outlet)
Day 2 Afternoon – Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza
After visiting Kumoba Pond and Kyu-Karuizawa in the morning and at noon, we returned here at around 3 o'clock. This outlet is really big, and I recommend that friends who plan to shop carefully come here at noon. I only spent more than 3 hours walking around, which was not enough time, so I skipped some areas.
The outlet is divided into major areas: East sports, mountaineering equipment and leisure brands, New East, Garden Mall, Center Mall, Tree Mall, New West, West, Souvenir mall, Ajinomachi and Food Court. Among them, Garden Mall near the East district and Tree Mall near the West district have many international brands.
I chose the stores on the east side and started shopping. As for me, although there are brands I like in New East, overall the stores on the west side are more to my taste. Therefore, it is recommended that you first check which area the stores you like are concentrated in.
According to on-site observation, the brands with the most crowds are as follows:
Sports category: Adidas, Puma, Nike, New Balance
Clothing: GAP, Champion, Beams, Snidel, Journal Standard
Bag accessories: Gucci, Prada, YSL, Balenciaga, Timberland
When I was leaving, I saw many beauties at the station holding paper bags of Gucci and Balenciaga in the West District. I really regretted not going there. 🥲🥲 In the West District, there are snidel, Mercury Duo, Jill by Jill Stuart, X-girl, Lowrys Farm, Jeanasis, Azul by moussy, Earth Music & Ecology, INGNI and Wego, all of which are my favorite brands.
In the east district, there are CA4LA, SPICK&SPAN JOURNAL STANDARD, Champion and Beams, etc. My boyfriend bought a Champion jacket and Timberland shoes here. I forgot the price but I remember they were very affordable.
I bought a lot of Japanese brand clothing in this outlet. For example, I bought two pieces of clothing at Jill by Jill Stuart. The prices were very good and the total cost was just over HKD500. I also bought a long coat at Mercury Duo for just over HK$300, while the original prices of these items were over HK$1,000. I also bought a quilted coat and a knitted dress from BC stock. The coat is around 300+, while the dress is around 70, which is 80% off the original price!! I also bought a chiffon top, a knee-length skirt and a printed dress at INGNI, and the prices ranged from over 100 to over 200 each. These clothes are of high quality in both material and style. Especially chiffon clothes, this material and style would cost at least 700 yuan if bought in Hong Kong.
The outlet closes at 7pm, so we took advantage of the time and went to the Food Court in Center mall to have dinner at around 6pm. There are Japanese food, Korean food, Chinese food, and Western food as well. Other popular dishes include charcoal-grilled steak Steak Tan and Korean stone pot rice Broil, which may be due to the cold weather. My boyfriend ordered steak rice and I ordered tempura udon. The steak was pretty good with a charcoal grilled flavor, the udon was just average, but the tempura shrimp were big and the portion was big enough. For two meals at an outlet, it was okay. Since I saw many Chojuku-ya branches in Kyu-Karuizawa, I ordered one to try, and the taste was average. I also bought this egg pudding dessert to check in and ordered a glass of apple juice. It tasted pretty good.
Finally, I bought milk candy and cheesecake at the souvenir shop at the station.
