Praya-Nakarach Cave Temple Address:
GHC8+2G8, Tham Thong Lang, Thap Put District, Phang Nga 82180, Thailand
Naga Cave, Thap Put, Phang Nga
The sacred cave has a mysterious, peaceful, secluded atmosphere in the middle of the forest with cool air. The legend tells of the Naga of Thap Put District. It is a place for many monks to practice meditation. From the monastery below, there is a concrete staircase with iron railings, winding up to see the cave above. In front of the cave, there are many stalactites and stalagmites. Inside the cave, it looks like a winding tunnel, mysterious, strange, and interesting. Suitable for those who are religious, practicing Dhamma, to observe the precepts, chant, worship, and develop the mind. The monks are kind and have high compassion. Welcome all devotees.

Stunning cave temple
#springwander #thailand
I had such a memorable time at Dragon Cave Temple in Phang Nga! I climbed 240 steps to get there, and the view at the top completely worth it. I saw this incredible landscape of lush greenery and towering limestone cliffs—it felt like I was in a postcard. The whole place was so serene, and I loved how quiet it was, just the sound of nature around me.
When I reached the caves, I took off my shoes and walked barefoot on the soft sand inside. It felt so grounding and added to the peaceful vibe. There are many Buddha statues, each one unique and beautiful. The caves had this magical atmosphere with the dim lighting and cool air. I liked how it felt like a little adventure, exploring each cave and discovering something new.
Overall, it was such a special experience. I felt so connected to the place, and it left me feeling calm and refreshed.

Tham Phraya Nakarat Monastery, Khao Nang Hong, Phang Nga Province
Phang Nga is another province that is famous for having a beautiful sea of fog in Thailand. The weather is good and the city is in a complex valley, just like the name of a beautiful city in a valley. But Phang Nga does not only have fog or the sea. There are many beautiful unseen places that no one knows about.
.
Today, we will take you to another place that not many people know about, "Phaya Nakharat Cave" or what the locals call the Phaya Nakharat Cave Monastery, Khao Nang Hong, Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province.
.
Below is a monastery with monks residing and a building for producing herbal medicine. Around it, there are many golden teak trees. The cave is located high up on a high cliff. You have to walk up a short flight of stairs. When you reach the top, the first place you will see is a Buddha statue for you to worship in front of the cave. When you walk into the cave, it will be a winding path with holes. The locals believe that it is a Naga crawling. At some points, stalactites and stalagmites look like Nagas. And along the way, you will see sand on the floor. It is assumed that this may be an underwater cave or that this area was once submerged under the sea.
.
Another place that you can't miss I would like to recommend walking to the top of the viewpoint. It is very beautiful. The feeling is great. There are Buddha statues to worship along the way. I guarantee that you will be filled with merit and happiness. You will definitely feel less tired. I want everyone to go.
Recommendations
- Dress politely. Be respectful.
- Do not bring things to worship in the cave. (There are incense and flowers downstairs. Make merit according to your means.)
- You cannot wear shoes up into the cave. Before reaching the mouth of the cave, there will be a place to take off your shoes.
- There are no guides, but there are lights and signs.
- Do not walk into areas without lights because the path is not yet complete. Some areas are deep ravines. It is dangerous. Be careful.
