European Charm by the Sea: Exploring Porto Europe in Wakayama!
#japantrip
Visiting Porto Europe in Wakayama felt like stepping into a charming European village! The stunning architecture, colorful streets, and seaside views made it such a magical experience. Everywhere I turned, there were picture-perfect spots that felt straight out of a postcard.
The location by the marina added to its charm, with the fresh sea breeze making the walk even more enjoyable. It was such a cozy and relaxing place to explore, perfect for strolling, snapping photos, and enjoying the peaceful vibes.
Porto Europe is a hidden gem in Wakayama that offers a beautiful escape with breathtaking views and a unique atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Wakayama | Europa Port with a European Flair
Located next to Wakayama Kuroshio Market, Europa Port is a small theme park brimming with European charm. Designed to resemble a medieval Mediterranean town, it features a French street centered around a fountain plaza, a majestic Spanish castle, and quaint alleyways with staircases perfect for photo ops. Enjoying an ice cream or a cup of coffee while strolling in the sea breeze is a delightful experience.
Entrance to Europa Port is free, but the twenty-plus rides inside require individual tickets. Alternatively, you can purchase an unlimited ride pass. The attractions have a bit of an old-school vibe, making it a great place to relive childhood memories. Many of these rides are now rare finds, making it a unique spot for photos. The park isn't very large, so if you're not interested in the rides, a leisurely walk around takes about an hour. It's recommended to plan your visit in conjunction with a trip to Kuroshio Market.

Simon’s Trip
This remarkable place is the front of an amusement park and consists of a collection of buildings that are a mixture of Italian and French styles, all joined together. The reproduction of an Italian villa is quite impressive. I did not partake of any rides, but the thing with Porto Europa is there are many attractions next to it, so you don't have to spend all your time here unless you have kids. Be sure to visit Kuroshio Fishmarket next door, where you can sample excellent maguro, which Wakayama is famous for. There is a fishing park nearby too, as well as an onsen.
