We chose to visit Verona, a city rich in history dating back to Roman times, on our third trip to Italy. Known for its well-preserved ancient architecture and as the setting for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," Verona offers a perfect blend of history and charm. This walkable city is home to famous tourist destinations such as the Verona Arena, a stunning Roman amphitheater, Juliet's House with its iconic balcony, and the beautiful Piazza delle Erbe.
We absolutely fell in love with this beautiful city and its enchanting blend of the old and the new.❤️💕❤️

Baicao Square -Piazza of the Erbe Italy
Piazza Baicao was historically the center of Verona's political, economic and social life. Now it is also the center of the old city, bringing together many important historical relics. The square was originally a Roman market, but during the reconstruction of the 14th century, Roman marble was recycled. The Madonna Fountain in Verona in the center of the square uses a statue of Madonna from the Roman period. Let's introduce it in three dimensions.
Environment There are many old buildings in Baicao Square, including the towering Lamberti Bell Tower, the Marseille Palace with a Baroque facade, the Mazanti Palace with Renaissance exterior paintings, the typical medieval building, the Merchant's House and the ancient Fountain of Our Lady of Verona, etc. But the most popular among tourists is Juliet's former residence, which is not far from the square, although the legendary "Juliet's balcony" does not really exist. This can be said to be an architectural expo, allowing you to see various styles and stories of historical buildings at once.#100WaysOfTravel #outdooradventures #ancienttown

Trip to Verona 🇮🇹
It was a trip to Verona, Italy. Just to share some of the places that I have visited.
I started my day at Piazza delle Erbe, Verona's most vibrant square. It was once a Roman forum, and now it's a lively marketplace filled with beautiful frescoed buildings and landmarks like the Lamberti Tower. I climbed the Lamberti Tower for a panoramic view of the city — well worth the €8 entrance fee 💰
📍Piazza delle Erbe, 37121 Verona
A short walk from the square, I visited Juliet's House with its famous balcony. Even with the crowds, the romantic ambiance was worth experiencing. I would recommend you to arrive early in the morning to avoid the rush.
📍Via Cappello, 23, 37121 Verona
💰 €6.
I also visited the Castelvecchio Museum, located in a 14th-century castle. It featured a fascinating mix of medieval and Renaissance art, and the views from the nearby bridge were stunning 🤩
📍Corso Castelvecchio, 2, 37121 Verona
💰 €8.
If you’re looking for a good spot for lunch, I would recommend you to try Osteria al Duca, a cozy spot with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Bigoli with duck ragu was delicious, but if you're feeling adventurous, try the polenta with pastissada de caval
📍Via Arche Scaligere, 2, 37121 Verona
💰 €10-€15.
I spent the afternoon wandering through the Giardino Giusti, a beautiful Renaissance garden. It was the perfect escape from the city's bustle, and I found the cypress alley particularly enchanting.
📍Via Giardino Giusti, 2, 37129 Verona
💰 Around €10.
I would also recommend you to take train 🚂 to Peschiera del Garda. I took an early morning train to Peschiera del Garda, a charming lakeside town just a 20-minute ride away. You will definitely love the view 🙌
💰 Around €4 one way.
I also spent the morning strolling around the town, enjoying the scenic views of Lake Garda. A boat ride on the lake was the perfect way to soak in the surroundings.
For lunch, I dined at La Plume, a lovely lakeside restaurant offering fresh seafood and Italian classics. I loved the seafood risotto and the grilled lake fish 👍
📍Lungolago Mazzini, 12, 37019 Peschiera del Garda
💰 €15-€20.
You can always have a leisurely stroll and some last-minute shopping in the city center like me 🛍️

Spending a day in Verona, Italy, felt like stepping into a romantic storybook! 🇮🇹 The city is absolutely charming, with its cobblestone streets, ancient buildings, and lively piazzas. My first stop was the iconic Arena di Verona, a stunning Roman amphitheater that’s still used for concerts and opera today. The entrance fee was about €10, and it was worth every cent to stand inside and imagine the history that unfolded here. 🎭 The views from the top were spectacular, giving me a great perspective of the city.
Of course, I couldn’t miss Juliet’s House (Casa di Giulietta), which was buzzing with tourists. 🏠 The entrance fee was around €6, and even though it was crowded, standing on the famous balcony was a must-do for any hopeless romantic! 💕 The courtyard is filled with love notes and padlocks – it’s such a cute and heartfelt tradition.
Afterward, I wandered over to Piazza delle Erbe, which is full of colorful market stalls, beautiful frescoed buildings, and cozy cafes. I sat down for an espresso and just soaked in the atmosphere. ☕ Later, a walk along the Adige River and crossing the Ponte Pietra offered breathtaking views. If you have time, a quick trip up to Castel San Pietro gives an unbeatable panorama of Verona. 🌄 Verona is more than just romance – it’s history, beauty, and the essence of Italy all rolled into one! #trip #Verona #RomanticItaly

I recently spent an amazing summer vacation in Verona, and it was everything I hoped for and more! This romantic city, famously known as the setting of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," offers a perfect blend of history and charm. I started with a visit to the Verona Arena, an ancient Roman amphitheater. The entrance fee was €10, and the views of the well-preserved arena were incredible.
Next, I explored Juliet’s House, where the €6 ticket lets you see the famous balcony and leave a note on the wall. The surrounding area is picturesque, with lovely shops and cafes. Wandering through Piazza delle Erbe, I enjoyed the vibrant market and grabbed a delicious gelato. Don’t miss the stunning Castelvecchio and its bridge, with an entrance fee of €6—it’s a fantastic spot for photos and learning about Verona's history.
