Natural scenery
The Phaya Nakhon Cave is located in the Sanbai Peaks National Park, near Bangpu Village. The cave is located on a small island. The island was formed by the original reef due to the decline of the sea. The cave is wide and beautiful, with magnificent scenery. There is a natural vent on theof the cave, forming a natural light source. When the sun shines into the palace from the of the cave, the resplendent landscape is breathtaking. Unique style of the Four Corners Palace In addition, there is a Four Corners Palace built in the era of King Rama V. Because of the unique style and charm of this palace, it has now become the representative symbol of Bashu. #bangkoktrip #roadtrip #thailand #cave #temple #attraction #hiking
A 3hrs drive south of Bangkok is the beautiful city of Huahin, there is this Cave that you MUST visit especially if you have the strength and the endurance.
The Phraya Nahkon Cave is a Cave not for the faint hearted due to its insane steep climb up the hill on the island before you hit its peak you will then have to head down into the cave. There is no shortcut into this Cave, but a long 45mins climb. Do remember to bring at least a bottle of water and take your time while doing this climb. There are several stop points for you to be able to catch a glimpse of the beautiful beach down below.

Phraya Nakhon Cave
Phraya Nakhon Cave is a stunning natural wonder located in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, in the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province of Thailand. The cave is known for its iconic image of a small pavilion, called "Kuha Karuhas", sitting in the middle of a large chamber with natural light streaming through a hole in the roof, illuminating the entire pavilion.
The cave is named after Phraya Nakhon, a nobleman who discovered the cave in the late 19th century. He was so impressed with its beauty that he decided to build a small pavilion inside the cave, which became a popular destination for royalty and other important figures.
To reach the pavilion, visitors must hike a steep trail through the jungle for about 30-40 minutes, passing through two caverns before arriving at the main chamber where the pavilion is located. The hike can be challenging, but the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and coastline make it worth the effort.
Phraya Nakhon Cave is open to visitors year-round, but it is best to visit during the dry season from November to April to avoid the rainy season. It is also recommended to visit early in the morning to see the pavilion bathed in the beautiful natural light that enters through the roof.
Phraya Nakhon Cave is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Thailand who loves nature and adventure.

It’s Huge!
The biggest cave I’ve ever been! It’s located 45 mins south of Hua hin but the trail needs 30 mins more to reach the cave. Advice is to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and your good swimming clothes because after the trek you can swim by the beach!

Highlight of khao Sam roi yot national park. It's a relatively easy trek of 1km. The paths are well laid out and there are several aids like stairways. Some areas are without shade and it gets extremely hot. The main cave area is pretty cool and you can walk around checking out various rocks and plants.

Phraya Nakhon Cave
Prachuap Khiri Khan Province's Phraya Nakhon Cave
This is a large cave with an opening at the top that allows light to enter. The pavilion they stand in will be more beautiful than any other flame. The best time to visit is from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM when sunlight streams in.
You must rent a boat from Bang Pu Village to Laem Sala Beach. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes, and the round-trip price is 400 THB per boat (for 6 people). Alternatively, you can start from Ban Bang Pu and walk about 530 meters through Khao Thian to reach Laem Sala Beach. From Laem Sala Beach, hike up the mountain for another 500 meters to reach Phraya Nakhon Cave.

Phraya Nakhon Cave: A Hidden Gem of Nature and History
Phraya Nakhon Cave, located in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, was formed naturally over time as limestone was eroded by water and wind, creating a large cavern. The open skylight at the top allows natural light to stream in, casting a magical glow inside. Within the cave stands the Phra Thinang Khuha Kharuehat, a royal pavilion built during the reign of King Rama V, symbolizing royal benevolence.
The beauty of Phraya Nakhon Cave lies in the interplay of light and shadow that changes throughout the day, creating a mystical and enchanting atmosphere. Visitors must hike through natural trails to reach the cave, making the journey a small adventure in itself. Once inside, you’ll be awed by the grandeur of nature and history blending seamlessly. Phraya Nakhon Cave is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and those who appreciate Thai cultural heritage.

Phraya Nakhon Cave New Year
It is one of the landmarks that we intend to visit once. On the day we went, it was January 1, 2025. There were strong waves. The boat that went around the first mountain could not leave because the first plan we had was to hire a boat to reduce fatigue by going around the first mountain first and then only walking to the second mountain. But when we arrived, the plan did not go as planned. But our hearts still had to go. On the way to the first mountain, it was still chill. Sometimes we were tired and exhausted. We walked to rest and went down the first mountain. There will be a white sand beach connection. It is a private sea in the Sam Roi Yot National Park. It is very beautiful. We rested there. There are restaurants and beverages. There are bathrooms that can be used. Then we thought about whether to go up the second mountain. Most of the tourists who came were foreigners. There were very few Thai families. We decided for a while. So we will walk up the second mountain, which is steeper than the first. It took a total of 4 hours to travel and the distance. The entrance is 2 km. The second world news is a bit steeper than the first one, but when you get there, you will find that nature is amazing. We would like to recommend anyone who is still healthy to go see it once in their life. It is an unseen place of Thailand and is also the symbol of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

Phraya Nakhon Cave, Prachuap Khiri Khan
Phraya Nakhon Cave is located in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. It is a large cave with stalactites and stalagmites forming curtain-like layers. There is a skylight on the cave ceiling that allows light to shine on the 'Phra Thinang Khuha Kharuehat', which is the highlight of this cave.
From Bang Pu Beach, it is about a 2-kilometer walk to Phraya Nakhon Cave. The path is a trail with some steep sections, so it is recommended to walk slowly and bring drinking water.

Located within the rugged cliffs of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in Thailand, Phraya Nakhon Cave is a mesmerizing destination where natural beauty meets royal history. Reaching the cave requires a bit of effort—a hike through dense forest and steep trails—but the reward is nothing short of magical.
As I descended into the cave, the first thing that struck me was its sheer size. Sunlight filtered through a gaping skylight, casting a heavenly glow on the lush greenery growing within. The atmosphere was cool and tranquil, with the echo of distant birdsong adding to the mystique of the space.
The centerpiece of Phraya Nakhon Cave is the stunning Kuha Karuhas Pavilion, a small but ornate structure that was built in the late 19th century to honor King Rama V. The pavilion’s intricate gold and green design glistens under the sunbeams, creating a breathtaking scene that feels almost otherworldly. It’s a place where nature and history blend seamlessly, leaving you in awe of both human craftsmanship and the power of the natural world.
Exploring the cave, I marveled at the towering stalactites and stalagmites, shaped over millennia by the slow drip of water. The play of light and shadow on the walls gave the space an ethereal quality, making it feel like a hidden sanctuary untouched by time.
Phraya Nakhon Cave is not just a natural wonder—it’s a place of deep cultural significance, revered by locals and visitors alike. Whether you come for the adventure, the history, or the stunning photo opportunities, this hidden gem promises an unforgettable experience that captures the soul of Thailand’s natural and cultural heritage.

The place is a hard trek of around 20-30 minutes from the beach side, however it is worth it. We went with family and enjoyed it a lot, especially the trek part of it.
We opted for the boat ride from the start which made some part of the visit easy. The walk to the boat is difficult, especially with all the muddy water on the beach (make sure to wear your crocs or slippers).
Also, ensure to carry a plastic raincoat or disposable wearable since we were drenched on our way back.

Let's go on a boat ride down into the cave!!!
"Tham Phraya Nakhon" is a place in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Inside the cave, there is Phra Thinang Khuha Khrueasri, which King Rama V ordered to be built.
Currently, it is a beautiful tourist attraction and is also a symbol on the seal of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
If anyone wants beautiful pictures, I recommend coming between 10:30-11:00 AM. There will be sunlight shining through the chimney above down to the pavilion area, which is a highlight that should not be missed!!!
We took a boat from Bang Pu Beach for about 10 minutes and then walked 430 meters to the cave. Or if you don't want to take a boat, you can walk across the mountain along the sea.
** It is recommended to bring a bottle of water.**

Phraya Nakhon Cave, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
After visiting many places, I personally rank this as the number one unseen spot 👍.
The journey began after seeing promotional photos. We drove to a temple near the sea. From there, you can either take a boat to the beach where the path to the cave starts or hike over the hill yourself. Naturally, we chose to hike (if you're not up for it, take the boat).
The hike was quite exhausting, with steep paths that took away half of our energy. After descending the hill, we reached the beach where boats dock. There are places to rest, wash your hands and face, and prepare for the next leg of the journey.
The next part of the path is even tougher, with sharp rocks that require careful navigation. There are warning signs for those with chronic illnesses to avoid this path. But once you reach the cave, it's absolutely worth it. The cool, bat-free air inside the cave is refreshing. The locals mentioned that the structure inside was assembled here, and it's truly magnificent. You have to see it with your own eyes.

🔸 The highlight of Phraya Nakhon Cave is the Phra Thinang Khuha Khrueasri, which is located inside the cave as a four-sided pavilion built during the reign of King Rama V. During his royal visit on June 20, 1890, King Chulalongkorn personally raised the gable and carved his initials on the right stone wall. Later, King Rama VII visited this cave and carved his initials on the wall as well.
🔸 The cave is also beautiful with stalactites and stalagmites, and light that shines through the ceiling at various points in the cave, creating beautiful beams of light.
🔸 The journey to Phraya Nakhon Cave starts at Bang Pu Beach, crossing to Laem Sala Beach, which can be done in 2 ways: the first is to walk from Bang Pu Beach to Laem Sala Beach, a distance of about 500 meters, and the second is to take a long-tailed boat round trip for 400 baht per boat, which can accommodate no more than 6 people, which is more popular among tourists. Because it saves energy and time.
🔸 Travel
1. Private car Take Highway No. 4 to Pran Buri District. There will be a left turn for about 37 kilometers to the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park office to Bang Pu Beach, which is the boarding point and the starting point for walking to Laem Sala Beach (park at Bang Pu Temple, parking fee 20 baht per car).
2. By bus
Get off at Pran Buri District and take a Pran Buri-Ban Bang Pu songthaew. From Ban Bang Pu, rent a songthaew to the park office.

Phraya Nakhon Cave @ Khao Sam Roi Yot, Prachuap Khiri Khan
It was another trip that I was very happy to walk across 2 mountains to go up to see the Royal Palace, which was a 2 km walk. The distance was definitely not strewn with rose petals. There were many rocks and steep slopes, but that was not an obstacle for travelers like us. Along the way up, there were trees that provided shade. The cool breeze, combined with the quiet of the forest, made it another place that we should not miss. Oh, there was a place to sit and rest along the way. We could see the atmosphere of the sea on the Gulf of Thailand, which was very beautiful. 💗💗 #visitPrachuapKhiriKhan

MUST Experience in Hua Hin
A visit to the Phraya Nakhon Cave is unforgettable and great for the whole family! #familytrip It is a must see when in Hua Hin! Here are all of the details and #mytravelhacks for a great visit.
It will take just under an hour to travel from hua Hin proper to Phraya Nakhon. We took a SongTao (truck) for 1500baht round trip. We would have ridden motorbikes if we didnt have the kids. It was an easy, comfortable drive. Upon arrival you’ll be met with restaurants, coffee shops, and bathrooms. The ticket office is easy to find. Non-Thai tickets: 200baht per adult/ 100 per kid. After buying entry tickets to the national park you have the choice to walk (a hot, upward 30 min walk to the cave area) or a BOAT! Boat tickets are purchased right near the entry tickets. As a family of 4 we opted for the full private boat tour for 1,200 baht. (You have the choice of full tour or round trip to the cave island). We would highly recommend the full tour.
Full Boat Tour:
On the full boat tour you go to the cave island, (hike, eat and stay as long as you want), then a longer boat ride across to more islands (you can ask to stop at for a swim at a private beach to cool off), then to a fishing village where you see lots of monkeys in the trees (we even saw one eating a fish!) and the boats in the fishing village are so colorful and interesting. Great photos! Finally the boat takes you back to where you began where your driver will be waiting for you.
The Hike to the Cave:
The hike was sweaty and up rocky stairs but completely doable for all of us ranging from 50-6 years old! Highly recommend bringing water to drink, and a few snacks to enjoy once you make the 435meter trek up to the shady cave. The views are stunning! The hike from the beach (boat drop off) to the cave was about 40 mins in total). Look for monkeys in the trees!
What to bring:
Camera!! Stunning photos!
Swim suit to swim at the cave island beach after your hike
Snacks and WATER
Timing:
The sunlight hits the cave just perfectly between 10:30-11:30am. I’d suggest leaving Hua Hin at 9-9:30am (depending your hiking speed) to make sure you arrive at the cave in that window. #historicallandmarks #localguides

#Visit Hua Hin
If you like to travel and admire nature, like to do activities, go into the forest, climb mountains, you should not miss to admire the beauty of Phraya Nakhon Cave.
🏞️ Phraya Nakhon Cave is located in Khao Thian, Ban Bang Pu in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. The cave has beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.
✴️The highlight of coming here is to admire the beauty of Phra Thinang Khuha Khrueasri, which is the smallest throne built in the reign of King Rama V. There is light shining through the mountain gap, very beautiful.
⛰️ To get to admire the beauty of the cave, you can charter a boat around Khao Thian for 200 baht there and 200 baht back.
👟Or you can walk across the mountain. The path is quite steep and uses a lot of energy. But when you see the view on the mountain, it is worth it to admire the beautiful nature. It will make you less tired.
When you cross to the beach, you have to walk up the cave for about 430 meters. You should prepare drinking water and shoes that you can wear comfortably walking up the mountain. Along the way, take a break for a while. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the cave entrance.

#BeautifulPhotoTouristPlaces
Tham Phraya Nakhon is located in Sam Roi Yot District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It is a large cave. On the ceiling of the cave, there is a shaft that lets light in. The highlight of Tham Phraya Nakhon that makes it well-known among tourists is the Phra Thinang Khuha Khrueasri, which is located inside the cave. It is a four-sided pavilion. It is even more beautiful when sunlight shines through the shaft of the cave and hits the throne. It is a sight that is enchanting to see. The throne was built during the reign of King Rama V during his royal visit on June 20, 1890. Tham Phraya Nakhon was the work of His Royal Highness Prince Khacharajaraswong. He built it in Bangkok and sent it to be assembled later by Phraya Chalayutthayothin as the construction supervisor. King Chulalongkorn himself came to raise the gable. On the right stone wall, there are the initials of King Rama V and King Rama VII in large white letters that catch the eye. In addition to being a highlight of Tham Phraya Nakhon, It is still the current provincial seal of Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Paya Nakho
Paya Nakhon Cave, Hua Hin, Thailand, this is a magical tiankeng hidden in the mountains. Later, the Five Emperor of Thailand built a pavilion in the cave to worship the gods. It took more than three hours to walk by boat and walk. Going into the cave, climbing the mountain is super tired! Every day, between 12 and 3 noon, the sun will shine on the pavilion, so its a good time to go.

This is a magical tiankeng hidden in the mountains, located in the khao Sam roi hot national park. The Five Emperors of Thailand built a pavilion in the cave to worship the gods and slowly became famous in the area.
From Hua Hin city center, you need to take a car, take a boat, and walk for three hours to get to the cave.
When you walk into the cave, there is a feeling of openness and sorrow. The stone waterfall caused by the limestone next to the cave is not like a frozen waterfall.
finally reached the deepest part of the cave, the golden sunlight sprinkled through the top of the cave, and there was a moment of tranquility.
If you come over in the morning at noon, you can take the most beautiful picture of the sun shining on the top of the temple.
