Wat Phra That Doi Inthanon: Pay respects and make wishes in Chiang Mai
Location: Wat Phra That Doi Inthanon
Noppamethanedon & Pagoda Nopphonphusiri: The Royal Pagodas of Mount Inthanon Summit
Phra Maha That Noppamethanedon and Phra Maha That Nopphonphusiri
Highlights: There are two pagodas. The brown pagoda was built in 1987 to honor King Bhumibol Adulyadej on his 60th birthday. The purple pagoda was built in 1992 to celebrate Queen Sirikit's 60th birthday. As you walk up, you can see the beautiful garden from afar. There is an escalator to the pagodas. Inside, there are Buddha statues and various sculptures. This place is about 2,100 meters above sea level, so even on a good weather day, the wind can still blow through the pagoda area. If you wear short clothes, the temple provides clothes for borrowing, but it is quite cold, so I borrowed some to wear. Today the weather is very nice, making the garden look even more beautiful.
You can take a free shuttle from the parking lot to the site.
