MALAYSIA’S EXOTIC ISLAND
These coral-fringed, secluded islands offer plenty of opportunities for kayaking, exploring, snorkeling, and scuba diving (including the popular site of a sugar hauler wreck), as well as a chance to volunteer with local organizations in green and hawksbill turtle conservation efforts.
The islands have remained underdeveloped, which means no major hotels, restaurants, or facilities are available on the island. For those wanting to stay overnight, there are a couple of guesthouses and homestay options but little else.
Jungle trekking is another major draw, as paths here zigzag through the islands, connecting beaches with each other and cutting through dense forests where monitor lizards and monkeys live. Paved trails also connect Coral Bay with a nearby beach, as well as a picturesque fishing village.#newyearadventure #awesomepic #couplestrip #tripblazers

Snorkel, dive and chill on Perhentian Islands
I love Perhentian Islands for the shimmering blue water, snorkeling and diving.
Here’s my guide on how to get there, what to do and where to stay:
🛥 Getting there - To get to the Perhentian Islands you’ll need to take a boat from Jetty Kuala Besut. Ferry takes about 30 minutes and tickets cost approximately 30-40MYR. Please make sure to check what boat you’re taking, once I took a smaller boat and all of my belongings and me were soaking wet, all of my devices were ruined and the boat company didn’t take responsibility. Take a bigger boat or one where you’re covered.
To get to the Jetty Kuala Besut, take a taxi from Kuala Terengganu Airport and to get to Kuala Terengganu, buy plane tickets from Kuala Lumpur ✈️
🏨 Hotels - not all of the hotels on Perhentian Islands can be booked in advance, only the good once. If you require good standard, stay at the Perhentian Islands Resort. If you’d like to experience local culture, you can choose a guesthouse from the list of places they give you once you arrive on the island. They are very rustic so I always book in advance.
You can also camp there, there are accommodations that provide camping equipment.
🐠 Attractions - Diving and snorkeling 🤿 are the most popular attractions on the Perhentian Islands, there are a lot of corals so you can see a lot of fish and other sea creatures under the water.
🍲 Restaurants - the restaurants are all very rustic, I recommend ordering local dishes such as Nasi Goreng Ayam (Chicken Fried Rice) and Nasi Lemak (Butter Rice with Chilli Sauce, anchovies and peanuts).
Enjoy your trip to the Perhentian Islands 😊

A little of ocean escapism!
Perhentian Island gonna be one of my favourite location for staycation. I’ve been there so many times. Never a refuse for this place. I love all the things here.
No need a luxurious and famous resort to get a nice view. I’ve stayed at Cozy Island Resort which really affordable around RM300 +++. They also provide a really nice food with a reasonable price.
If you wanna take a walk, can just go through the beach from the hotel to another one. Also, you can watch the stunning view of sunset.
If you love marine activities, can choose scuba diving or snorkeling. It’s really nice for you to off your day with a great ambience.

Perhentia Island: The Haven of Malaysia
Perhentian Islands, located off the northeastern coast of Malaysia, are a tropical paradise known for their pristine beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and crystal-clear waters. My experience on the Perhentian Islands was nothing short of idyllic.
The islands, namely Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil, offer a laid-back atmosphere, making them a perfect retreat for nature lovers and those seeking a tranquil escape. The powdery white sand beaches and lush greenery create a picturesque backdrop against the turquoise sea.
Snorkeling and diving in the rich marine ecosystem were the highlights of my visit. The vibrant coral gardens teeming with diverse marine life, including colorful fish and sea turtles, provided a mesmerizing underwater spectacle. Exploring the underwater world felt like entering a living, kaleidoscopic paradise.
The local culture on the islands is warm and welcoming. The relaxed pace of life, absence of motorized vehicles, and simple yet delicious local cuisine contributed to the overall scharm of the islands. Watching the sunset on the beach, with the sound of gentle waves in the background, was a serene and unforgettable experience.
Perhentian Islands, with their natural beauty and tranquil ambiance, left a lasting impression. It's a destination that perfectly balances relaxation with the allure of marine adventures, creating memories of a tropical paradise that will linger in my mind for a long time.

Perhentian Island
Please take note, best date to go to Perhentian Island is on Mid of March (10th and later) until End of September .Perhentian Island is CLOSE from October until February because of northeast monsoon winds. Perhentian Island for me is in Top 10 list best & beautiful & must visit island in Malaysia. It takes around 30minutes maybe from Kuala Besut Jetty to Perhentian Island. Don't forget to bring Ice Box Storage 10L or bigger with ice cubes inside with drinks if you are about to do snorkeling, swimming & diving journey to some places with boat captain. Place your Food and Baverages on the boat. You may get hungry and DEHYDRATION because of water activities. Foods and Baverages are quite expensive in Perhentian Island. Bring your own snorkeling goggles for best experience. Boat captain's provided snorkeling goggles, but i think their goggles is little dirty and not be clean up properly. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is WEAR YOUR SAFETY LIFE JACKET CORRECTLY and PROPERLY!! Enjoy your holidays~. #visit Malaysia , #cuti-Cuti Malaysia , #terengganu Kita , #ganu Kite

Another set of beautiful Malaysian islands, no better no worse than many of the others - I find it difficult to pick a favourite - none are perfect, all have been worth visiting. Kecil island, where we stayed, was lovely, on the west side, near Rainforest Beach - it was quiet at the midway point and lots of beautiful rainforest and beaches and charm. Again, some of the resorts are a little 'heavy', but there are plenty of places to retreat to. The east side of the island, with Long Beach, was too noisy, busy and built up. We arranged transport with our hotel, who picked us up at the airport and took us to the island, RM250, round-trip. It was a good value well organised option. Perhentians are worth a visit - a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the sea and views.

Getting There - You can just get a taxi from Kota Bahru Airport for 80 RM
Attractions - There are many beaches there with beautiful waters!
Hotels - Stayed at Ombak but on hindsight I would have chosen accommodations on Long Beach as I had to walk everyday to Long Beach for the more bustling beaches and place hahaha.
Food & Restaurants - Food is affordable and all the seafood is really fresh! Go to the bbqs there and they will make it on the spot for you! You might have to wait a while for food but it is worth it!
Shopping - Would not say there is a lot to buy here but there is definitely a lot of fun stuff here like banana boats and snorkelling or diving!

Perhentian Islands are a group of islands off the coast of Kuala Besut. The larger of the islands are Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil Islands. Perhentian had fine sandy beaches, green forests, rugged rock structures, curiously beautiful large boulders, clear sea water, colourful fishes and charming wildlife. Beaches were quite different from one another, with their own charm and beauty, so it was a good idea to just visit them one by one (food available at each), and that would keep you occupied for a few days. #wintergetaway
