Very nice quaint little museum. Not much to see but definitely enough to give you a good feel of Penang. Enjoyed it with only RM1 per pax for entrance that is very cheap. This meseum enables the visitors to feel and understand the past history of Penang with various races together building up the state as we see today. There is interactive design where you can get to try on and even touch also smell of different spices. The demonstration of Penang Free School brings you back to the good old times of studying, and of course you can have awesome photoshoot session over there. Penang State Art Gallery is probably the best and most active state art gallery in Malaysia. Being managed by a team of knowledgeable and committed boards and fully supported by Tourism and Culture State Exco, the gallery constantly organizes various new exhibition events to support local artists at third floor, while permanent collections are being displayed at ground floor. 😎 A place to learn about Penang’s history and culture. Penang, discovered by the Englishman Francis Light in the late 18th century, is a British trading base in the Far East. Known as the Pearl of the Orient, Penang is a seaside resort in Southeast Asia alongside Bali and Phuket. Penang, with its beautiful seaside, is located on the northwestern side of the Malay Peninsula. This museum, built in 1821, is a two-story white building that looks very elegant. It used to be a school. It currently houses ancient photographs, maps and charts; swords, pistols, cannons and other weapons; ceramics, decorations, wooden boats, agricultural machinery and other daily necessities; and the Japanese colonial government during the Second World War.
