Nature at it's finest
Me and my partner decided to hike to pantai kerachut from penang national park at teluk bahang, the decision we made was to hike to pantai kerachut and return to the origin point by sitting a motor boat which cost around 100 ringgit per boat. To our surprise the forest that we hiked was so peaceful and calm , it was filled with tranquilled noises of birds and forest bugs buzzing .we realised that the 100 ringgit was definitely worth keeping.
while reaching on pantai kerachut we stumbled upon a beautiful lake on the left hand side of the entrance and a big blue sea on the right, it was definitely perfect for a picnic after nearly a one hour hike. The sea was clear and blue , the environment was peaceful. There is even a turtle convention centre for us to visit. However do take note that this beach doesn't allow anyone for swimming as it has high tides and have lots of jelly fish around. If u are looking for more of a hectic and swimming beach ,head over to monkey beach which is also another trail that u can hike .Overall this hiking experiencing was definitely worth trying and I do recommend everyone to visit and hike.
tips
-if ur taking a boat ,do go on a weekend as there are more people u can share the boat fee with unless ur going with a group of friends.
-Do bring plenty of water and snacks as the hike might be tiring.
- recommend to bring sun screen if ur hiking in the afternoon (especially once u reach the beach)
-park opens from 8 am to 5 pm
-hike takes about 1.5 hour per mentioned however only took us 1 hour max
price
entrance fee - rm10(local)/ rm 20 (non local) rm 5 for (local student)
motorboat -rm100 per boat
parking fee -rm4 (if ur driving a car)

Penang National Park
Penang National Park breaks the stigma around a national park being about plentiful animals and long jungles. This smallest national park in Malaysia is all about exploring nature by walking in its trails where you can spot some animals like monkeys and giant lizards. Here’s the amazing part- it all leads to a beach! That is one of a kind, where you get to sunbathe in almost privacy, swing on the beachside, visit the lighthouse and picnic. The Kerachut beach here is home to thousands of turtles with whom you can spend some time if you are lucky in this Malaysia park
Location: Pejabat Taman Negara P. Pinang, George Town

Malaysia attracts tourists not only with its exotic nature, beach holidays, diving and surfing, but also with the fact that it has something to see. Penang deserves special attention of fans of excursions - sights here are found literally at every step. According to various sources, there are from 1,000 to 3,000 attractions on this relatively small island. Most of them are located in the capital of the state of Penang - George Town, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Penang National Park
It is so beautiful, peaceful and bursting with wild life. Go early to avoid big pager groups. Take water, there are no shops or vendors in the park.
Register at the park office to receive a permit. There is no fee. Path starts paved and well maintained, down this is a few picnic benches, access to a small beach and a view of the sea. In the water by the rocks were water monitors. We saw monkeys before the entrance and at the picnic bench.
The forest is beautiful but the beach is polluted. I would suggest to hike with a trekking pole for it can help with chasing monkeys and give a bit of stability.

Penang National Park's Monkey Beach (Penang)
#malaysiatrip
Monkey Beach, located within Penang National Park, is a secluded stretch of white sand accessible only by boat or a 2-hour trek through the jungle. The beach is fringed with palm trees and clear waters, offering a pristine spot for relaxation.
Visitors can enjoy activities like swimming, picnicking, and even hiking to the Muka Head Lighthouse for a panoramic view of the Andaman Sea. The area is relatively untouched, providing a peaceful escape from Penang’s busier tourist spots. Its isolation and natural beauty make it one of Penang’s best-kept secrets.

Recommended Malaysia, Penang!
👍🏻Recommended reason: Penang is awesome! It is the city with the highest proportion of Chinese in Malaysia, with a literary atmosphere, friendly prices, good public security, and suitable for weekend trips for workers.
📍Attraction address: Located in the north of Kuala Lumpur, it is one of the thirteen states of Malaysia. The Penang people often say is generally George Town on Penang Island.
🚗Attraction transportation: Penang is composed of Penang Island and Seberang Perai, separated by the Penang Strait, and connected by the Penang Bridge. You can go from Kuala Lumpur and other places.
👊🏻Must-visit attractions: The old alleys of George Town, where there are many murals. There are also various food streets and alleys, where you can experience the unique "ancient" of Penang.
💖Other tips: The prices here are low, you can eat for 10 yuan, and you can get accommodation for 150 yuan. There is basically no language barrier, and many local signs are in Chinese.

Street Food and Cultural Wonders
#backpacking
Penang, particularly its capital George Town, is a haven for backpackers who love food, history, and art. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its vibrant street art, historical buildings, and eclectic food scene. George Town offers affordable hostels and guesthouses, making it perfect for budget travelers. Backpackers can spend days exploring the city’s narrow streets, visiting temples, and tasting the local delicacies like char kway teow and laksa. The area’s mix of Chinese, Malay, and Indian cultures creates a fascinating environment for solo wanderers. For those looking to venture out, Penang Hill and the Penang National Park offer trekking and wildlife experiences.

Nice park to get out of the city and into the jungle. The park is not super big, but you can hike around for a couple hours. There are trails connecting a couple beaches. Some of the trails can be very hilly and not super flat. Many roots and rocks and stuff. The beaches are not postcards, but there are nice. Costs 50 RM for foreigners and they give you a wristband to check. Happy hiking!

Penang National Park
#penangtrip Considered the smallest national park in the world, I hiked all the way across in a little over an hour. It was hot so bring a lot of water and food as there isn't a place to buy any at turtle beach. There were monkeys, huge water monitor lizards, and newly hatched greenback sea turtles! This was definitely the highlight. I would recommend taking the long boat from turtle beach to monkey beach. It's worth the money and the stop. Here you can purchase food and drinks, and swim in the water. Best day in Penang so far!

The Eastern & Oriental Express in Asia is restarting, crossing tropical jungles and touring around Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand
Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore have recently announced visa-free policies for China, and the Eastern & Oriental Express, which tours around Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, will make a grand return in February 2024. The train departs from Singapore, passes through Malaysia and Bangkok, and then returns to Singapore!
The Eastern & Oriental Express consists of several dark green carriages. After being renovated and upgraded, the interior is as luxurious as a five-star hotel, with Malaysian-style patterns, Thai carvings and decorations... These inspirations from different Asian countries constitute the Southeast Asian style of the 19th century, elegant and gorgeous. In addition to different levels of passenger carriages, the train is also equipped with two dining carriages and a salon carriage. The luxurious dinner prepared by chefs from the UK, France, Malaysia, and India adds color to the journey. Tasting delicious food and wine, dancing with your loved ones in the melodious music, you will never feel bored on the train at night!
The train is over 2000 kilometers long and passes through various landscapes of three countries. Through the window, from bustling cities to mysterious ancient rainforests, a unique Southeast Asian journey slowly unfolds. The returning Eastern & Oriental Express has launched two seasonal sightseeing routes, making the journey more colorful!
1️⃣ Malaysia Cultural Essence Tour Route: Singapore—Kuala Lumpur—Langkawi—Penang—Johor—Singapore
The journey lasts for 3 nights, starting from Woodlands Train Station in Singapore. Sitting in the luxurious and comfortable cabin, looking at the changing urban landscape and green mountains outside the window, heading to Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and other places with the joy of dinner after nightfall. After a night's sleep, the paddy fields and villages in the west of Malaysia come into view, feeling the strong rural natural atmosphere. Get off at Alor Setar Station, take a boat to Paya Island Marine Park in Langkawi, cocktails and barbecues on the shore, angelfish and eels underwater, surfing and snorkeling in the blue sea, feeling free and happy. After returning to the train at night, there are performances by local artists! On the third day, arrive at Penang, the cultural melting pot of Malaysia. From the west coast to the north coast, traditional Malaysian culture thrives here. The encounter of herbs and vegetables gave birth to Nyonya cuisine developed by overseas Chinese who moved to Malaysia. Nyonya cuisine is diverse in flavor, sour and sweet, spicy and fragrant, slightly spicy, different practices bring out different deliciousness, what remains unchanged is their nostalgia for their homeland! In George Town, magnificent temples, various art studios and puppet theaters form a journey of traditional Malaysian culture and art. Strolling through the streets and alleys of the old town, indulging in a foreign country, feeling the rich and vivid traditional Malaysian tea ceremony and street art. Finally, cross the rainforest and beaches to reach Johor State, cross the strait to Singapore, the green rainforest, the vast ocean, and the modern city with high-rise buildings, the scenery outside the window keeps changing, and finally ends in Singapore!
2️⃣ Malaysia Natural Fun Tour Route: Singapore—Gemas—Taman Negara National Park—Kuala Lumpur—Penang—Johor—Singapore
Compared with the Cultural Essence Tour, there are more places to pass and the itinerary is more compact. In addition to tasting Malaysian Nyonya cuisine, enjoying the scenery of Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, and Malaysian jungles, this journey also cooperates with the global tiger conservation charity 'Save Wild Tigers' to explore the habitat of wild animals in the oldest tropical rainforest in the world. The Malayan tiger is regarded as the national beast of Malaysia, with orange and black stripes all over its body, and their images are also in the train decorations. Cross the dense jungle of Malaysia to Taman Negara National Park, where Malayan tigers live. They live in the rainforest, passengers can explore their territory, the thrilling 'Tiger Territory' wildlife exploration activity is usually hard to experience, and taking adventure photos in the jungle with local staff, leaving a souvenir photo, will be an unforgettable moment in a lifetime. Finally return to the train, after passing through Kuala Lumpur, arrive in Penang, barbecue and play with local chefs and artists; watch the sea in Johor, the endless blue makes people feel relaxed at a glance; finally return to Singapore, end the journey with the company of the sea and the forest!

Hiking At Penang National Park
Travelling to penang this holiday and looking for somewhere for a nice hike on the weekend? Do consider the Penang National Park, where this is an area with more than 10 over trials here. Some trials will bring you to the beaches, some trials will bring you up towards the peak for an amazing view, and if you want something challenging you should go for the Teluk Kampi Trial which is approx 9/10 long.
It is recommended to plan ahead which trial you want to go to, as this park covers more than 1000 over hectares.
