Best Things to DoNo.2 of Best Things to Do in Nova Scotia
Peggy's Bay is located 43 kilometers west of Halifax, on Highway 333, and is a famous fishing village in Canada. The granite shores, lighthouses, charming piers and shacks make up the eye-catching picture, a paradise for photographers and artists, attracting a large number of tourists every year. When you first enter the village, there is a free parking lot with toilets on the left hand side, next to the tourist information center. The gallery across the street and the 30-meter-high Fishermen's Monument are also a sight. In the small restaurant in the village, you can eat fresh oysters that have just been caught, which are delicious and inexpensive. Nova Scotia is home to more than 160 historic lighthouses, the most well-known of which is the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, a small seaside fishing village. The lighthouse by the sea is a landmark building in Peggy's Bay. There is a small post office inside, which can be stamped with a unique commemorative postmark. Against the backdrop of the azure sea, the red and white lighthouse sets off the rolling granite bay, exuding the tranquility that is characteristic of the seaside. The lighthouse, built in 1915, still fulfills its duty to illuminate fishing boats today. On the tall ship sailing to Halifax Harbour, you can not only enjoy the rolling coastal scenery, but also learn about the marine culture and experience the pleasure of sailing the boat yourself, and don't forget to taste the freshly caught aboard of fresh seafood. If it is summer, you can arrange the tour time before 10 am, because many tour groups will arrive at noon, and there are often traffic jams.
