Pangong Lake: A Bumpy Road to the World’s Highest Salty Lake
Pangong Lake lies on the border between China and India, and during our trip to northern India, we visited the lake that’s under Indian control.
Located in the Indian-administered region of Kashmir, this part of the lake, known as the western Pangong Lake, is the **highest saltwater lake** in the world.
The lake’s water is incredibly blue, surrounded by rugged mountains and grassy plains, creating a picture-perfect scene.
But be warned—the journey to get here isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s a 4-hour drive along bumpy, pebble roads, which can cause motion sickness.
If you want to fully enjoy this incredible place, make sure you visit while you’re young—the road alone is an adventure!
Despite the tough ride, standing by the shimmering blue waters made every bump worth it.
Pangong Lake isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience that will stay with you long after you leave.

Pangong Lake
#tripแจกโรงแรมฟรี Pangong lake is the highest saltwater lake in the world. Its water, which looks blue, is about 160 kilometers long. One third of it is in India and the remaining two thirds are in China.
The view here is very charming. You can see the reflection of the snow-capped hills in the turquoise water. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom of the lake.
Along the way, there is a large valley and a road emerges from the side. Changla Pass is located on the way where you can see the snow-capped peaks.

📍Panggong Lake
Panggong Lake is the highest saltwater lake in the world, at 4,500 meters above sea level, and is occupied by two countries: 25 percent of which is India and 75 percent of which is China. It is a beautiful endorheic lake located in the Himalayas and is 134 kilometers long, extending from India to China. Pangong Lake is located at an altitude of 4,350 meters and is one of the largest tourist attractions in the country. The beauty and charm of this lake attract many people to visit it at least once.
We visited here during the past Songkran Festival. Some and most of the lake is still frozen. It has not melted yet. The view with the naked eye is much more beautiful than in the picture. If anyone has the chance, I recommend that you go because it is really beautiful.
