#March Good Places 2025 Today I went to the "Onijima Great Cave" on Onoki Island. It was an unimaginable expedition! To be honest, before I entered, I thought it was just an ordinary sightseeing cave, but it turned out to be so famous! Once inside, I immediately felt the coolness. It turns out that it keeps around 15 degrees inside all year round. It's really cool in summer! The best part is the atmosphere, although I know it is artificially built, but the whole space is scary, with a size of 4000 square meters and 400 meters deep, walking into it really feels like exploring. The history of the cave is really unexpected, it was discovered as early as 1914, and it was discovered by Sentaro Hashimoto, the principal of Mankijima next door! He also linked the Momotaro legend to the female island, so that the whole island is now called "Ghost Island". The funniest thing is that although it’s called Ghost Island, the people who actually live may be pirates, a mystery that hasn’t been solved yet! Be careful of headbutting when you walk in, as some of the places are really quite short. The design inside is super cute, there is a "porch entrance" and a "treasure house", the treasure house is also made of 60cm thick rock as a door, thinking about the ancient people really strong! The most shocking thing is to see the "big black pillar", the whole cave is supported by it, there are also meeting rooms and confinement rooms around, I really think that the ancient pirates quite know how to sigh! There is a reservoir called "Ghost Power Water" which is very special. The ceiling drops form a pool of water. Thinking of the people in the past, they were really smart. There is also a "Ghost Island Tenmangu Shrine" worshiping the god of learning, which turns out to be related to Sugawara Doma. No wonder so many people come to seek academic progress! Before you come out, you must see the "tortoiseshell ceiling". It's really carved out piece by piece. You can see that the ancients were very patient!
