| Düsseldorf Old Town. [One]P1: Düsseldorf's Old Town Square is located by the Rhine River. The square is small, but it is the oldest square in the city and the site of the festival market. There are more than 1,000 folk festivals of all sizes in Germany, and people gather here to celebrate festivals every three days on average.
[Two]P2: The ancient city hall
[Three]P3: In the middle of the square, there is a bronze statue of Grand Duke Johann Wilhelm weighing 8 tons, surrounded by iron railings. According to records, it was built in 1711. This duke was the city-state monarch of Düsseldorf in the 18th century. Although he was short and not good-looking, he had a great taste for art. He married a wealthy wife, and her generous dowry helped him expand the city of Düsseldorf, build an opera house, and establish an art gallery, making Düsseldorf a major art center in Germany and laying the foundation for today's prosperity.
