Nice park in the city Center
Beautiful park located right in the centre of Fukuoka.Very easy to get to by subway. A very public place for local people and tourist to spend their day of weekdays or weekend.most important it free admission.
I took about 1 hour to walk around the park and to the tiny island in the middle. There are peddling swan boat available for rent, cafes available too. You can walk your dogs easily here.
Will highly recommended a visit here to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the park which offer .

#ohoripark was constructed between 1926 and 1929 and designed after the classical garden style of the West Lake in China. There are three islands in the middle of the pond that are connected to the mainland and each other by elegant stone bridges #fukuoka #japan

Fukuoka Ohori Park's Spectacular Cherry Blossom Season
Fukuoka's Ohori Park boasts a breathtaking landscape during the cherry blossom season. As you stroll through the park, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the blue lake harmonizing with the cherry blossoms. Visiting during the full bloom period, the entire park is bathed in pink, making you feel as if you're walking in a dream. Particularly, the walking paths around the lake offer a leisurely time as you watch the petals fluttering down. It's a perfect place to create precious memories with family or friends. A walk accompanied by the sound of falling cherry blossoms is truly an unforgettable experience. If you visit Fukuoka, this is a must-see spot.

Ohori Park
Ohori Park is a historic and picturesque urban water park. Its predecessor was the inland bay 'Kusanoe,' which later became the outer moat of Fukuoka Castle.
In Showa 4 (1929), Ohori Park officially opened. The pond, with a circumference of about 2 kilometers, connects four lush green islands through bridges. The park features a vast lake, large green areas, small bridges over flowing water, a Japanese garden, a tea house, a dry landscape garden, small ponds, and an art museum.
Quietly enjoying the scenery and savoring a Yame matcha ice cream is also a pleasant thing to do.
Man'yō Monument (Aratsu Beach)
'Shirotae no Sode no Wakare o Katami shite Aratsu no Hama ni Yadori suru kamo'
There are many Man'yō monuments in Fukuoka, including in Dazaifu, Ohori Park, Maizuru Park, Nishi Park, Shikanoshima, Nokonoshima, and about a hundred monuments within Fukuoka City.

Went to visit the local park and it was such an amazing experience. the weather was great and you could sit on a bench to observe Mother Nature while you journal or listen to music. I saw a lot of locals running in the park and you could also stop by a local coffee shop to grab coffee or a quick bite. If you still have energy you can go on the swan boat and paddle for half an hour to burn off more energy with your loved ones ;)

Fukuoka's Little West Lake - Ohori Park and Maizuru Park Worth Visiting
👍️Recommended Reason: Ohori Park, which is a 15-minute walk from Fukuoka Tenjin, is a park built around the moat of Fukuoka Castle, with a total area of about 4.1 square kilometers. It is also known as 'Fukuoka's Little West Lake' because it was built to imitate Hangzhou's West Lake. Ohori Park is one of the few water parks in Japan and a beautiful leisure spot in Fukuoka City. Its wide lake, large green spaces, and small bridges over flowing water attract many visitors.
Maizuru Park, next to Ohori Park, is built on the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. The park boasts beautiful natural scenery throughout the seasons and is especially famous for cherry blossom viewing. However, the red leaves and ginkgo trees in late autumn are also stunning.
📅Travel Tips: Both parks are open all year round and free of charge. Generally, it takes about 2 hours to visit. However, you can extend your time by having a coffee at the Starbucks in the park, sitting for a while, daydreaming, and relaxing; or treat yourself to a meal at a Michelin restaurant! If you have more time, you can also visit the Fukuoka Art Museum.
💗Other Tips: 1. The two parks often hold events on weekends, featuring local snacks and specialties, which are quite attractive;
2. During the cherry blossom season, there are many tourists, making it very lively but also quite crowded, so plan ahead;
3. There is a Japanese garden in Ohori Park that opens at 9 am and is closed on Mondays. It requires a 240 yen ticket.

Ohori Park, Fukuoka.
While walking around the Ohori Pond you may discover this quaint feature.
Following a long day exploring the many sites your tired feet may consider this a welcome relief, or they may not?!
Soothing reflexology for the passing travelor or torture device targeting unsuspecting tourists? You decide.

The Japanese garden hidden in Ohori Park
🏡 Many people visit Fukuoka's Ohori Park to enjoy the cherry blossoms, but many overlook the quaint 'Japanese Garden' within the park.
.
🏡 This exquisite garden, built in 1984, is surrounded by white clay walls and trees, featuring a large pond, artificial hills that make up a spring garden, a 'Sukiya' style tea house, and an open-air tea garden.
.
🏡 Although the garden is not large, it encompasses gardening techniques from various eras, creating a unique landscape with a Zen Buddhism-inspired natural view. The designer is one of Japan's leading garden and landscape creators, 'Kinsaku Nakane', whose representative works include the 'Adachi Museum of Art, Nijo Castle, and the Japanese Garden at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts'. Additionally, the tea house in the garden was designed by 'Masao Nakamura', an authority on modern Japanese tea houses and Sukiya architecture. The tea house offers matcha sweets, and the front garden is planted with maple trees, which are especially beautiful in autumn.
.
📌 Opening hours:
May-September: 9:00-18:00
October-April: 9:00-17:00
Closed every Monday and from December 29 to January 3.
📌🎫: 250 yen per person
📌 The garden has a mist spray every half hour.

A place full of beauty, Ohori Park.
📍Ohori Park
If you go to Fukuoka, you can't miss the famous Ohori Park. Ohori Park has a really large lake, and it was a place with water ripples gently sliding over the moonlight, trees surrendering to the wind, people riding bicycles, and dogs taking walks. There wasn't a single place that wasn't pleasant. If you go to Fukuoka, I highly recommend visiting Ohori Park, especially on a sunny day, you might even get a 'life shot'.

Ōhori Park | A scenic park in Fukuoka that combines art and relaxation
🌟 Ōhori Park, you really know how to enjoy yourself!
👍 For the people of Fukuoka Prefecture in Kyushu, when it comes to taking a walk, the first place that comes to mind is Ōhori Park. It is considered an oasis in the city, and the nearly 90-year-old Ōhori Park has grown alongside many Fukuoka residents. In spring, people admire the cherry blossoms, in summer they watch fireworks, in autumn they enjoy the red maple leaves, and in winter the warm sun welcomes the new year with decorative lights.
❤ The construction of Ōhori Park originally involved filling in the mouth of the Hakata Bay to build a moat for the protection of the castle. In the 1930s, inspired by China's West Lake, the current Ōhori Park was constructed. Even today, Ōhori Park is one of the few water parks in Japan, hosting an annual summer fireworks festival.
🖼 In contrast to the grandeur of China's West Lake, Ōhori Park focuses more on details to enhance its beauty. Many buildings have been constructed along the lake to complement the park's lakes, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery and relax, appreciate art at the lakeside art museum, and even take a break on a swan boat in the lake. There is a small island in the lake connected by three bridges, and at night, colorful lights are turned on, attracting many couples for a romantic rendezvous.
✅ Ōhori Park is well-equipped with facilities, including a two-kilometer trail around the lake for jogging and cycling. In addition to the art museum and restful seating, several coffee shops have been established around the lake, filling the air with the scent of flowers and the aroma of coffee. On weekends, the 'Noh Theater' in Ōhori Park also hosts various music and drama events, adding to the entertainment atmosphere for the public.
📍 Address: 1-2 Ōhori Park, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.
🚉 Transportation: Take the municipal subway to Ōhori Park Station, and follow the signs for an 8-minute walk to reach the park.
💰 Cost: Free.
🕙 Opening hours: All day.

Ohori Park Japanese Garden
#cherryblossom2024
Ohori Park Japanese Garden is a beautiful oasis in Fukuoka, Japan, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Even in the rain, the garden exudes tranquility and beauty, making it a delightful destination to explore.
During my visit to Ohori Park Japanese Garden, I was enchanted by the peaceful atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings. The entry price of 250 yen is well worth it for the opportunity to immerse oneself in such a picturesque setting.
One of the highlights of the garden is the fog pond, which creates a mystical ambiance every half an hour. Whether you're taking a leisurely stroll through the garden or simply enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings, Ohori Park Japanese Garden is a must-visit destination in Fukuoka.

Take a walk in Ohori Park by Fukuoka Castle.
If you visit Fukuoka, be sure to check out Ohori Park! Located just outside the city center of Fukuoka, it's a truly peaceful and beautiful place. The park is centered around a large lake, with well-maintained walking paths around it, making it a great place to walk.
Especially if you visit in spring or fall, you can take wonderful photos with flowers or autumn leaves in the background, and enjoy nature at your leisure. Also, the park has car-free paths, making it a nice place to ride a bike or enjoy jogging.
Ohori Park is also close to Fukuoka Castle, so it's a good plan to take a break in the park after touring the castle. There's even a Starbucks in the park, so it's a great place to have a cup of coffee and relax. Sometimes you can see ducks on the lake, and children feeding them.
If you have plans to visit Fukuoka, Ohori Park is truly an unmissable attraction. I recommend it as the best place to spend a comfortable time with nature!

Ohori Park, a new water leisure spot in Fukuoka
Ohori Park is located in the center of Fukuoka City and is a water park built around the moat of Fukuoka Castle, hailed as the 'Japanese version of Hangzhou's West Lake'. The park's lake is as calm as a mirror, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, and the lush greenery of weeping willows, creating a scenery that resembles a perfect simulation of a water world, which is extremely beautiful. The park features a 3-meter-wide lakeside walkway, interspersed with trees and flower beds, as well as spacious running tracks and bicycle lanes, making it a great place for leisure and sports for all types of visitors. There are also many popular photo spots hidden in the park, such as the stunning Central Park on the water, cafes within the park, art galleries, and a Japanese garden that requires a ticket. It is also a popular spot for cruise tour groups, so it is recommended to avoid peak times. If you want to stroll leisurely in Fukuoka and appreciate the beauty of Japanese gardens, Ohori Park should be your first choice. The scenery here will not disappoint you, and it is definitely worth including in your Fukuoka itinerary.

🚴♂️ On our recent trip to Fukuoka, we found ourselves repeatedly drawn to Ohori Park for coffee breaks. Nestled in the heart of the city, this park is a tranquil escape with its picturesque pond and the 2 km path that encircles it, perfect for leisurely strolls or cycling. The park's design, inspired by the West Lake in Hangzhou, China, features three beautifully crafted islands, offering diverse scenic views and peaceful spots for relaxation. Despite its central location, the park maintains a serene atmosphere, providing a beautiful juxtaposition of nature's calm with the city's vibrant energy. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and soak in the serene views of the lake, especially after a morning bike ride. 🍃

Scenic Park in Fukuoka
#2024wish
A picturesque park to spend an hour or two. There is a small island and some bridges, so you can cross the lake in the middle of it. Lots of benches and toilets. If you feel like it you can even rent a paddle boat. We saw some ducks, pigeons, fish and turtles as we crossed the beautiful bridge that led to a garden and a picturesque landing built on the lake. There were a few local bikers, joggers & tourists when we went there. It was worth spending the afternoon in Ohori Park.
In 2024, I want to travel here again.

It is such a great place to relax. A nice park with lots of things to see and do like feeding the ducks/fishes, jogging around, enjoy the lake and greenery. You can also ride cute crane boat.

Winter's Tranquil Embrace: Ohori Memories
#2024wish
Strolling through the serene Ohori Park in Fukuoka, Japan, during a crisp winter afternoon left an indelible mark on my memory. The park, with its expansive lake surrounded by picturesque gardens, emanated tranquility. Cherry blossoms were absent, yet the bare branches held a unique charm against the backdrop of the tranquil water. As I walked along the stone paths, the subtle rustle of fallen leaves echoed the passage of time. The air carried a refreshing chill, invigorating my senses. It was a perfect blend of nature and urbanity. As the day waned, the sun painted the sky in hues of pink and orange. Ohori Park, a haven of beauty, etched a lasting impression in my heart. In 2024, I wish to go there again.

The view of Ohori park in Fall
#fallingseason
Ohori park is one of the most famous places to visit in Fukuoka and was opened in 1927. It is extremely easy to reach and is 7 minutes away from Tenjin by subway.
The park includes 3 small islands named Willov, Pine and Sweet Flag. In this place, which is beautiful in every season, it is very enjoyable to take a walk around the lake in the autumn with a cup of coffee that will warm you up. You can ride a bike or visit the Japanese garden, theater or art museum located right next to the park.
In addition, you can also rent a paddle boat between March and November

Ohori Park is one of the landmark in Fukuoka, Japan. The red bridge leading to a small japanese style hut in the middle standing on the lake is what makes this park iconic. The place is pretty quiet with fresh air. You can enjoy walking here alone or with your loved ones. Great place to be. #wintergetaway
