It was designated as Scenic Site No. 79 in 2011 under the name of 'Jeju Seogwipo Oedolgae'. It is a rock island that was formed by a volcanic eruption 1.5 million years ago. It is not a large area, but it has become a tourist attraction because of its unique height. You can see Oedolgae if you walk a little from Oedolgae Rest Stop. It looks different depending on the angle, so I hope you don't just see it once and leave, but see it from various angles. Also, there is Hwangwooji Beach nearby, so you can enjoy swimming. It is not a typical beach, but the bottom is made of rocks, so it is better not to wear slippers. It is blocked like a lake, and the color of the sea is very pretty. There used to be a grandfather and grandmother who were fishermen. But on the day the grandfather went out to the sea to catch fish, a storm suddenly came and the grandfather died. When her grandfather didn't come back, her grandmother waited for him in the sea where he had gone, but he ended up turning into a rock. Odolgae is connected to Hwangwooji Beach and Seonnyeo Bath, so it's a great place for a travel course! I went there when I was young and it's been a long time since I've been there, but the color of the sea is really pretty, so I'd like to recommend it. The famous Oedolgae Rock in Jeju Korea. When I was making my itinerary, I read alot of blogs saying that it was a rock, an ordinary rock and if you are not planning to take the Olle Hiking Trails, it was a waste of time visiting it. But since it was just about 45mins walk from my hotel, I went to it early morning during my jog. And I can say that it was BEAUTIFUL. Cafe Rock Rock was great for taking pictures and the scenery was beautiful. There were a lot of cloudy days, but that was still a great Jeju Island trip.

#cherryblossom25 I was at jeju city and travelled all the way down to seogwipo for a night. While exploring this area, I chanced upon the pink cherry blossom flowers which were not as common as the white ones hence I took the opportunity to take some nice photos! This was located at an attraction in jeju, oedolgae. The tree was just on its own and it looked really beautiful both from afar and up close. Suggest checking out Korea if you really want to see some nice cherry blossoms!

The nearby Olai Trail Route 7 is also the highlight of the entire island hike. The coffee shops along the way are closed during the winter off-season, but it would be very comfortable to drink coffee by the cliff.

#familytrips2024 Walking along the coastline in Seogwipo Jeju, we visited the Oedolgae Rock / Oedolgae Sea Stack which stands at around 20 metres high. This stone pillar is formed due to the long-term erosion of the volcanic rock by the 🌊 waves. I find the walk towards the Oedolgae Rock more scenic 😜 as you get to enjoy and admire the sea views and surrounding greenery. This is also part of the Jeju Olle Trail 7 route (there are nature trails spanning a total of 425km around the whole Jeju island).

We walk from Seogwipo Submarine centre to the Olle trail course 7 to get to the Oedolgae Rock. The road is very nice and quiet. You can enjoy the ocean while walking inside a tropical forest. Also a good spot for the end of the afternoon.
