Much like the high dining experience in the west, the number of courses can vary from a handful to more than 10. The kaiseki dinner course has been a highlight. The set was some of the best meals of my life. Definitely worth it.

Stayed in Shima Onsen Toshimaya for one night, the overall experience was superb! The room was spacious and comfortable, the tatami bed was soft and comfortable to sleep on, and the best thing was that the open-air bath was right by the stream - soaking in the hot spring and listening to the gurgling water, soaking in the night and looking at the stars, the body and mind instantly relaxed. The hotel was clean, the service was considerate, and the one-night stay and two-meals were not sloppy. The dinner was exquisite and delicious, and the breakfast was also very satisfying. The public hot spring in the hotel was also great, with just the right temperature and a quiet environment. It was a good place to relax. A fifteen-minute walk will also take you to Jishankan, which is known as the inspiration for "Spirited Away". "Old Taishi Station" looks like an archaeological site, but it is a former station! 🚃 Iron ore was once mined here, so it opened as a station for loading iron ore. Shima Blue ⁡ Shima Blue is a hot spring glamping site in Shima Onsen. Even though it's called glamping, we didn't stay in tents, but in a room that was like a standalone cottage 🥹 ⁡ ⁡ The interior was stylish and cute ☺️♡! Personally, I'm happy that there was a hammock inside lol Both kids and adults love hammocks, right? ← ⁡ ⁡ It was nice to bathe in the hot spring while enjoying the forest bathing.
