Bless you and welcome to the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon located in District 1 at Ho Chi Minh City. It is a must visit place even for photo taking and the location is right in the center of many tourist attractions. It was built by the French many years ago and the colonial style is an eye-catching architecture in HCMC. The church is also undergoing renovation at the moment and the best spot to take a photo here will be right in front of the Statue of Our Lady which is Mother Mary. It is also open for entry to visitors too but not during mass time.

Notre Dame Cathedral - Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
This cathedral in a quiet central area of the city is Ho Chi Minh City's hallmark and its most famous architectural landmark.
The cathedral was built between 1863 and 1880 on the site of a former Vietnamese pagoda. All the materials were brought from France. For many years it was called the Saigon Temple, and in 1962 the Pope performed the rite of anointing, after which the name of the building was changed to Saigon Notre Dame, and it became the main cathedral of the country.

Notre Dame Catherdal of Saigon
Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon is one of the top tourist spots in Ho Chi Minh City. Built between 1863 to 1880 by French engineer Jules Bourard, this French guy had high trust in French products because most of the construction materials were imported from France, including bricks and stones. The architect initially named it the Church of Saigon.
The impression of this church is a mix of church design between Roman and Gothic styles. The locals know this church for having the biggest pair of bells in Vietnam.
Located in the central city of Ho Chi Minh, this church is not just for worshippers but also for the tourist to admire its beauty, as I do. Notre Dame Cathedral can host around 1,200 people; therefore, its the largest church in Ho Chi Minh.

Norte-Dame Cathedral in Saigon.
Notre-Dam Cathedral is one of the most important religious and historical building in Ho Chi Minh. The location is quite convenient as it is in the hearth of the city's down town. The recommended sightseen time is half an hour or maximum one hour. It is more comfortable to visit this place in the morning or late afternoon as the weather is quite hot. After the visit, you can also enjoy some shopping or nice food as there are many restaurants and shops around the area. This place is open everyday from 8am to 4pm.

We went to see the cathedral and people watch. It is under construction so we couldn't go in so we decided to watch the passing people and traffic before heading over to the Post office.

The Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, built in 1863, is located in the center of HCMC. Streets with heavy traffic surrounds the landmark. While I was no impressed with the interior I admire the exterior of the red brick structure. Unfortunately the cathedral was being renovated and it was impossible to get some good pictures of the building.

The Red Church is the most famous landmark in Saigon, and it is particularly conspicuous because of the red brick walls. It is a red brick building built at the end of the 19th century, officially known as the Church of the Virgin Mary. It is well-proportioned and majestic. The two towers are 40 meters high and go straight into the sky, modeled after the bell tower of Notre Dame. The red bricks that built the church were all shipped from France. A four-ton statue of the Virgin Mary on the garden square in front of the church was given by the Roman Church in 1945. It is said that every Christmas Eve, beautiful lights shine on the darkness, and the hymns of hymns linger all night.

The exterior halls and other parts of the church are covered with exquisite carvings. The interior is surrounded by small prayer rooms, each with different gods, sculptures and decorations.
The building is well-proportioned and majestic. The two 40-meter-tall clock towers spire straight into the sky, modeled after the bell tower of Notre Dame. The red bricks that built the church were all shipped from France and have not faded so far. On the garden square in front of the church stands a statue of the Virgin Mary weighing 4 tons, which was donated by the Roman Church in 1945. According to legend, the bricks used in the construction of the church were all shipped from France. It is impossible to verify the authenticity of the legend. The church is a typical Gothic building, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds, green trees and safflower, exuding the taste of French architecture. On the Garden Square in front of the Red Church, there is a 4 ton sculpture of the Virgin Mary, which was donated by the Roman Church in 1945. It is 9.3 meters long, 3.7 meters wide and 5.7 meters high. The whole body is white, but the foot of the Virgin is stepping on it. Holding a big snake

The Red Church is the most famous landmark in Saigon. It is the most lively and bustling place in the heart of Saigon.
I didn't open the door when I first came. I always thought that there was no fate to the church. As a result, the next day, the little friend left. I can go in when I come back. After walking so many cities, I can finally walk into the church. The
red church was named for its use of red bricks. The red bricks used in the construction were all shipped from France. After more than a hundred years, the color is still vivid and there is no fading.
There are also many girls taking pictures outside the church. I dont know if they are tourists or local artists.

All attractions in Ho Chi Minh City are not far from the route. From Fan Wu Lao Street to the Presidential Palace, it is less than two kilometers away. You can walk to the Red Church. The Central Post Office is just across the road from the Red Church. It can be said that you have seen the nearest attraction. If you walk for about two kilometers, you can reach the pink church with super girly feelings. You can play five attractions in Ho Chi Minh in just one day. If you still don't know where to go to New Year's Day, you may wish to come here, book a ticket immediately, and have time~

Walking down the street, I saw the spire of the red church in the distance. The red of the exterior walls was very eye-catching. The architecture of the church is very gothic. The towers of the two 40-meter-tall clock towers reach for the sky and were modelled after the bell tower of Notre Dame in Paris. As the most famous landmark of Ho Chi Minh, the Cathedral of Our Lady, built using red bricks, is also known as the Red Church.
The church was built in 1877 and took six years to complete. It is a relic left behind from the French colonial period. The red bricks that built the church were all shipped from France and still retain their vibrant colour. On the garden square in front of the church stands a statue of the Virgin Mary. It weighs 4 tons and the whole body is said to be holy. However, at the foot of the Virgin is a big snake, which was donated by the Roman church in 1945. This Catholic church is still in use today, and many new people come here every day to take wedding photos.

CityWalk Ho Chi Minh, experience the rich French style
🌈Highlights:
Ho Chi Minh is the largest city in Vietnam. Due to French colonization, it still retains a rich French style. Eating baguettes, drinking coffee, looking at European-style buildings on the street, many people still like to call Ho Chi Minh "Saigon", indeed this name sounds more literary. The French left not only bread here, but also French romance full of Vietnamese characteristics. Walking through the exquisite houses, the sun shines through the plane trees on the ground, saying it is a small Paris in the East, there is indeed a bit of feeling.
After breakfast at the homestay, I took a map and started strolling along Fan Wulao Street. If you ask what the biggest feeling is, of course it is the legendary motorcycle army, this is absolutely true.
⭐️Stroll in Ho Chi Minh:
✅The first place I went to was Bianqing Market, the largest market in Ho Chi Minh. If you see a big clock, it's there. It's similar to our small commodity market. It mainly sells clothes, shoes, tourist souvenirs, coffee dry goods, and snacks. There are not a few locals and tourists. You have to cut prices hard when you buy things here, and you can just stroll around if you don't buy it.
✅The government building of Ho Chi Minh, with a strong French style, was built in 1902. The city hall has two floors, with simple and clear lines, a red roof, and a yellow exterior wall, which is particularly bright against the blue sky.
✅Not far from the city hall is the Cathedral of Saint Mary, originally named the Cathedral of the King of Saigon. It is modeled after the bell tower of Notre Dame de Paris. It is a typical Gothic building. The two towers are more than forty meters high. The red bricks used for construction were all shipped from France. After more than a hundred years, the color is still bright. Because of the red color, it is also called the Red Church. The church was built in the late 19th century and is a product of the French colonial period. Against the blue sky and surrounding green trees, it exudes a strong French atmosphere. The ivory tower is towering into the sky, and you can see it from a distance. With the red wall, it is very eye-catching.
✅Across from the Red Church is the Central Post Office. It is the first post office built during the French colonial period. The exterior looks like a station at first glance. The bright yellow exterior wall is as eye-catching as the Red Church. The interior decoration of the post office is gorgeous, and the dome is composed of round windows, flower-shaped wall lamps, decorative pillars, etc., which are very classical. At the end of the hall hangs a huge portrait of Ho Chi Minh, with service counters on both sides, and the long counter in the middle is full of various souvenirs and postcards.
✅The Unification Palace was built in 1868 and was once the office of the French Governor in Vietnam. Now it is the place to receive heads of state and hold government meetings. The main body of the building is white, with four floors in total. It adopts a symmetrical layout design. Looking down from above, it looks like a "Ji" character, hoping for national prosperity. The large green lawn in front of the palace is quite stylish, and you can visit various halls and conference rooms inside.
✅From the Red Church, walk along Hai Bang Trung Road for about twenty minutes to the Pink Church. The sign says it is not open from 12-14. The church is officially named the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is a Roman Catholic church. It was built during the French colonial period in the early 20th century. The unique pink color makes it a holy place for many tourists to take pictures and check in. The church is not big, you can see it all around.
✨Tips:
✅One of the characteristics of Vietnamese street, eating, drinking coffee, and chatting are all done by setting up a low table with a few small stools on the side of the road, and the price is very affordable.
✅There are many motorcycles on the street. When taking pictures on the side of the road, try to stay away from the carriageway. One is to prevent collisions, and the other is to protect the camera from flying thieves.
✅I have seen a lot of evaluations, basically all of them are good for FUTA. There is a FUTA ticket office on Fan Wulao Street. The boarding point is opposite. You can buy a ticket to Dalat in advance.
✅The night of Fan Wulao Street is also the most lively time. The bars on both sides open for business one after another. You can experience the nightlife of Ho Chi Minh.
🚌Public transportation:
There is a bus to Fan Wulao Street at the airport. Tell the ticket seller in advance and he will call you off when you arrive. The homestay I booked is near Fan Lao Wu Street, and there are many hotels around. If you live in this area, you can also walk to most of the attractions in Ho Chi Minh.

Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) central axis, city hall, opera house, Notre Dame Cathedral
Picture one is the central axis of Ho Chi Minh City, which is also from north to south, starting from the opera house (pictures five and six). Pictures two, three, and four are the city hall, the governor's office during the former French colonial period, and now the office of the Ho Chi Minh City government. Ho Chi Minh City is a municipality, equivalent to a provincial-level organization. Picture seven is the Notre Dame Cathedral, the same church as the Notre Dame de Paris.

Trip in Ho Chi Minh City - Day 1
Day 1: Breakfast - Central Post Office - Notre Dame Cathedral - Lunch - City Hall - Central Street - Dinner – Ho Chi Minh Square
1️⃣ Started the day with a coffee at Trung Nguyên Legend Café. This brand is found all over Ho Chi Minh City and is considered a fantastic local coffee chain. And, the one near Notre Dame Cathedral is special because it has an indoor beach, allowing you to feel relaxed by the seaside in the heart of the city.
2️⃣ Then, I headed to the Central Post Office, which isn't far from the coffee shop. On either side of the post office, you can handle postal services, while in the middle, you can find various souvenirs.
3️⃣ Right across from the post office is Notre Dame Cathedra. The cathedral was built in 1877 during the French colonial period.
4️⃣ For lunch, I dined at RUNAN, a restaurant next to Notre Dame Cathedral. I ordered a Berry Smoothie, Prawn and Pomelo Salad, and Grilled Prawn with Vietnamese noodles. It was quite delicious.
Address: Số 3 Công xã Paris, Phường Bến Nghé, Quận 1, TP Hồ Chí Minh
5️⃣ After lunch, I explored City Hall, and nearby was Central Street, which felt like Paris's Champs-Élysées. After some tiring sightseeing, I found another corner café to relax. Vietnamese coffee is generally quite delicious, and any random café I chose was good.
6️⃣ Dinner was a casual affair with street food such as egg pancakes, rice balls, and grilled meat. After eating, I strolled to Ho Chi Minh Square. The City Hall was even more beautiful at night, and I took some photos before returning to the hotel.
