After checking in, we couldn't wait to rush along the mountain road to the center of the village. As soon as you get to the ground, the first thing that comes into view is the No. 4 Wind and Rain Bridge. At this time, the lights were just coming on, and the bridge and the surrounding banks were crowded with people and noisy. The hawking of street vendors, the music and singing in the bar, the sound of the tour guide's loudspeaker, the voices of tourists and the gurgling of water all come one after another, creating a picture of prosperity, bustle, joy and peace. At this point, our stomachs started to sing the empty city plan. Let’s go and solve the problem of food and clothing first. After visiting a few restaurants, I found that the menus of each restaurant were similar and the prices were similar. The menu almost always includes dishes such as sour soup fish and black pork bacon hotpot. The special services provided include a free mountain and flowing water welcome ceremony. Finally, we had our meal at a hotel near the No. 4 Wind and Rain Bridge. We had eaten sour soup fish hotpot at the Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area, so we ordered a three-person set meal of black pork bacon hotpot, plus some local specialties. The total cost was 220 yuan. While eating, we also wanted to experience the free mountain and flowing water welcome ceremony. But I was told that I had to buy their homemade grain wine to experience it. But we can't finish a big bottle of wine, and it's inconvenient to carry. In the end, you can only give up. It seems that these are all tricks used by merchants!
After eating and drinking, we continued walking aimlessly. After walking through a few streets, I found that the most common store on every street was Trip Moments store. The store is filled with Miao clothing. Every store is crowded with people and business is booming. Some were choosing clothes on the hangers, while others had already put on their favorite ones and were sitting in front of the dressing table, with staff behind them putting on makeup for them. Along the way, most of the tourists we saw were wearing Miao costumes. Among these people, there are best friends, mother and daughter, and couples. They come in twos or threes, or in groups of three or five, and the sounds of their voices rustle and tinkle are really beautiful and pleasant to hear. But after seeing and hearing it so much, it's just like that.
In addition to the many Trip Moments stores, there are also many music bars on both sides of the Baishui River that divides the Miao village in two. The bar was also bustling with people and bright lights. The tourists were toasting and chatting loudly. At the bar, the bartender is mixing various cocktails with skill, and his movements are as smooth as flowing water. Some bars have a stage. On the stage, the actors danced to the beat of the music. In some bars, resident singers play the guitar and sing with passion. When they sang the familiar melody, the drinkers around them joined in. Pop, folk, rock, Chinese style...all kinds of music spread from bars to the outside and into the ears of every tourist. As I listened, it seemed as if these songs were fighting each other, making it impossible to calm down, so I had to stay away from them.
On the way away, you will be enveloped by waves of choking smoke. Look, there are many barbecue stalls on both sides of the road. On the barbecue grill, those golden skewers of meat are sizzling with oil! Passing tourists were drooling, and they quickly took out their mobile phones to scan the code to pay, and then started to eat with relish. This scene can be found in every tourist attraction and is very familiar.
I walked around and stopped all night, and what else did I remember besides the Trip Moments store, bar and grill stall? What else can I remember? Oh, it seems there is still that light, that colorful neon light, that dazzling light...
These are also available in other places, so why should we come all the way here? Experts say that Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is an open-air museum that exhibits an epic of the development of the Miao people and has become a grandstand for viewing and studying the traditional culture of the Miao people. Like many tourists, I felt that it was a village that was becoming increasingly commercialized.
