A hidden gem in Kochi Prefecture. The highly transparent and emerald green Nikobuchi Falls is located on the Edakawa River, a tributary of the Niyodo River. Originally, it was a place where locals did not enter as it was believed to be the home of a giant snake, the god of water, but now it has become a popular spot in Kochi. This is, in a word, a world overflowing with nature. The water is so clear that I was simply amazed. Another fascinating thing is how the color of the water changes depending on the time of day and the weather. I went there during the day on a weekday, and even though it is supposed to be a hidden gem, there were about 20 tourists there. I recommend going by car if possible. Niyodo River, which flows through the center of Kochi Prefecture, is a clear stream that has been selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as the "river with the best water quality" eight times in the past ten years. The beautiful color of the water has led locals to call it "Niyodo Blue." It is located a little deep in the mountains, which could be called a hidden area, but its popularity is increasing year by year. It is best to visit by car, as it is located between Nikobuchi and "Ino Town." If you are worried about driving, we recommend a taxi. It is about 70 minutes from Kochi city and about 50 minutes from Ino Station. Rather than using the meter, we recommend reserving a private hourly plan with a taxi company in advance. I took advantage of the long weekend in October to visit Kochi Prefecture in Shikoku. You can see the beautiful blue waters known as Niyodo Blue in the Edakawa River, a tributary of the Niyodo River. When I went, the sun wasn't shining, so it was a shame I couldn't see the blue waters I'd seen in photos. To get to the basin of the falls, you have to go down a flight of stairs from the road, so it might be a bit difficult for older people. #autumntrip

It is easily accessible from the parking lot, but there is a sign that says sandals and revealing skin are not allowed. It seems to be a sacred place. It was a wonderful place, so please do visit!
