Ngoc Son Temple Hanoi 🇻🇳
If you weren’t already aware, the difference between a temple and pagoda is that temples are place to remember the dead spiritually through offerings and pagodas are more strict in what you can wear and how you can pray. This was a temple I didn’t require any restrictions on what items of clothing you should wear. The ticket was equivalent to $1, it was worth a visit on a beautiful sunny day. There are lots of lovely photo opportunities on the red bridge behind me and inside the temple, which features some very large embalmed turtles and a story about the turtle tower in the middle! #vietnam#travelinspiration #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #temple

A Walk to Nearby Sites Before the Flight
Midday departures can be tough. You wouldn't want to miss your flight, but you wouldn't want to waste time in an airport. I was scheduled to fly out of Hanoi a little past noontime so I looked up attractions that I can drop by in the morning. From my hotel, I went to the Huc Bridge and explored the Ngoc Son Temple. The iconic colors of the bridge and the temple make stellar shots. I had some time to stay inside and observe the lake while letting time fly. Scheduling my trip well lets me put my precious time to good use. After appreciating this site, I left Hanoi and got on the plane to the next part of my getaway. #hanoi #vietnam

This temple is very beautiful and very historical. Located right in the heart of Hanoi I would recommend you pay the entry fee to walk across the red bridge and take in the historic and nature around you. I would highly recommend you visit this temple while in Hanoi. They also have access to toilets if you need toilet while on the go. There is also water available to drink if you are thirsty while visiting. It is 100,000 Dong to enter approximately 3.60 for two people or 50,000 Dong per adult.

Hanoi Jade Mountain Temple | Majestic architecture.
Hanoi Jade Mountain Temple, a tranquil and ancient building, was born with the long river of history. It stands in a lush garden, surrounded by green trees and colorful gardens, as if it is a haven of time.
The architectural style of Jade Mountain Temple is simple and elegant, with blue bricks and white walls, and flying eaves. Each brick and stone seems to be telling an ancient story. Walking into the temple, the first thing that comes into view is the solemn main hall, where the guardian gods of Jade Mountain Temple are enshrined, and the statues are solemn and majestic.
Walking along the winding corridor, you can enjoy various carvings and murals in the temple. These carvings and murals not only show exquisite craftsmanship, but also are witnesses of history, recording the historical changes of Jade Mountain Temple and people's beliefs. On both sides of the corridor, there are some antique furniture and utensils, which are witnesses of history, telling the stories of the past.
Around Jade Mountain Temple, there are also some side halls and temples scattered. These buildings have different styles, some are traditional, and some are integrated with modern elements. They together constitute the unique landscape of Jade Mountain Temple, giving people a sense of the charm of the interweaving of ancient and modern.
In addition, Jade Mountain Temple also carries the deep cultural emotions and beliefs of the local people. Every year on important festivals and celebrations, grand sacrificial ceremonies and celebrations will be held here. People will wear traditional costumes, set off fireworks and firecrackers, and celebrate these important moments with gongs and drums. These activities not only enrich the local cultural life, but also inherit the ancient beliefs and traditions.
In short, Hanoi Jade Mountain Temple is a group of buildings integrating history, culture and belief. It witnessed the past years and also witnessed people's devout pursuit of faith. This ancient building is not only a place of sacrifice, but also a witness of history and a bearer of culture.

Ngoc Son Temple... Hanoi..
Located at the northern end of the elongated Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, it is a space dedicated to the worship of Vietnam's 13th-century war hero Tran Hung Dao, who repelled the Mongol invasions, as well as three saints representing literature, martial arts, and medicine. To reach the island where the temple is situated, one must cross over a beautiful red wooden bridge named The Huc. Surrounded by the lake and trees, it is known as a place for leisurely rest, attracting many local citizens and tourists. Inside the building, there is a stuffed giant turtle, said to have been caught in Hoan Kiem Lake in 1968, measuring over 2 meters in length, and there is also a small souvenir shop.

Ngoc Son Temple
#vietnamtrip As I crossed the iconic Huc Bridge and approached Ngoc Son Temple, I felt a sense of reverence wash over me. Situated on a small island in the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake, the temple seemed to exude an aura of tranquility and spirituality.
Stepping through the entrance gate, I was greeted by the sight of ancient trees, serene courtyards, and ornate pagodas. The scent of burning incense lingered in the air, mingling with the soft sound of chanting from nearby worshipers.
Making my way through the temple complex, I marveled at the intricate details of the architecture and the centuries-old artifacts on display. Each corner seemed to hold a piece of history, telling the stories of generations past and the cultural heritage of Vietnam.
Reaching the heart of Ngoc Son Temple, I stood before the altar, offering my respects to the deities and ancestors honored within. The flickering candlelight cast a warm glow over the sacred space, filling me with a sense of peace and reverence.
As I wandered around the temple, I couldn't help but recall the legendary tale of the revered turtles of Hoan Kiem Lake. According to local folklore, the lake was once home to a giant turtle known as "Cu Rua," which was said to be over six centuries old. Cu Rua was considered a symbol of longevity, wisdom, and good fortune for the Vietnamese people.
Leaving the temple grounds, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience such a sacred place and to reflect on the rich history and cultural significance of Ngoc Son Temple and the legendary turtles of Hoan Kiem Lake.

Beautiful temple! Must visit! Also take a walk around the lake. And if possible, stay till after sundown when the little temple gets lit up.
Nice place for an evening stroll or just to sit by the lake on the benches. Went there during August, so was a bit rainy, but still a great experience!
