[2025 George Town Restaurant] Travel Guide for New Lane Hawker Centre (Updated Jun)

When we went to Penang Hill, the female driver who drove us introduced New Lane Foodstall, a food street in New Lane. So we went straight here for dinner after coming down from Penang Hill. This snack street is really unsafe. There are stalls on both sides of the road, but vehicles can drive through it, which also deducts points. I always feel like I'm risking my life to eat delicious food. Later I found out that what Sibu Night Market lacks is this kind of fried food stall. I think it would be great if there were fried food stalls in Sibu Night Market because we have planned it well and cars are not allowed to drive in it. What a pity~ She recommended grilled chicken wings, which were really delicious. We ordered black pepper and honey sauce, but I felt they all tasted the same after eating them 🤣🤣 But they were delicious. I originally ordered chicken legs, but the boss said it would take half an hour to cook them, so I ended up with 8 chicken wings. Fried noodles and fried rice are also delicious. The curry rice noodle rolls lost points because of the pig blood because I don’t eat pig blood. The four-generation-old braised pork is delicious and goes really well with the chili sauce. The wonton noodles are really not good, too sweet. I tried wonton noodles in 3 places and none of them were good. The wonton noodles in Sibu are still the best. The drink we ordered was the Four Fruits, which was delicious and had a lot of ingredients. The cardamom drink is very cardamom.

One of the best of the best of char kwey tiao. He used charcoal and have been famous for several dekades. Located at new lane hawker street Penang -Besides 118 Hotel Macalister. You need to join the queue to enjoy the feel of legend char kwey tiao. Remember to inform spicy, and use duck egg. So delicious, and this is one of people most visiting olace in Penang. Did you know… Penang is known for being the “food paradise” of Malaysia with a wealth of street food or “hawker food” that emphasizes noodles, spices, and fresh seafood? That being said, whilst in Penang, eat like a Penang-ian! 5 minutes within walking distance of our hotel, we stumbled across this street that’s just paved with different types of hawker dishes. We had our try of Penang’s famous char kueh tiao, loklok and cooled off with their famous ABC.
