At Nanjing New Jingli Hotel (SLH)
At Nanjing New Jingli Hotel (SLH)
Today, I want to share about the Nanjing New Jingli Hotel, the only SLH hotel in Nanjing. Let's review the public areas:
Not too far nor too close to the subway station, the exterior looks like a budget hotel, which was my first impression of New Jingli. However, the interior decor is truly stunning. A huge blue carpet extends upwards along the marble tiles, and the hollow handrail design is quite palatial. The first floor of the hotel is a buffet restaurant + front desk, with a rather serious style and slightly dark colors. The paintings from the front desk to the guest elevator are genuine works by famous artists.
The second floor houses the Chinese restaurant Nanjing Jingcai Restaurant, which has many branches in Nanjing. It is said that the owner of the restaurant is also the owner of New Jingli. The restaurant mainly consists of private rooms, with a small main hall. The third floor is the hotel's grand banquet hall level, with beautiful curtains, huge chandeliers, and stone pillar decorations in the corridors. The fourth floor is the hotel's conference room + museum level, showcasing the owner's precious art collection. Hotel guests can make reservations to visit, but photography is not allowed.
The B1 level is the hotel's small banquet hall + gym floor. After descending the stairs, there is a nice extended dining table. The top floor, the 11th floor, is a rooftop garden where guests can dress up as princes and princesses, enjoy afternoon tea, and happy hour. Additionally, the outdoor scenery and corridors of the garden are great for photos. Let's review the guest rooms:
The picture shows the hotel's deluxe suite. The living room is not large, with classical-style furniture and an interesting aerobic bike. The flowers are real, which is a plus. There is a simple balcony from the living room to the outside, which is quite spacious but lacks furniture, making it a good place to get some fresh air. The bedroom decor remains consistent, with a large bed + footstool + window sofa, which is quite nice. The bathroom has a dry and wet separation + smart toilet, but the bathtub is not independent.
Overall, the suite's living room/balcony additions don't seem to significantly elevate the experience, while the price skyrockets. This highlights the value of the basic rooms. Personally, I think the essence of this hotel lies in its public areas. The deluxe king room is under a thousand, making it a great choice to appreciate the master's works and take some photos in different outfits.
