#cherryblossom25 Negishi Forest Park A nice wide open park with plenty of space for kids to run and play, picnicking, etc. Especially appealing during cherry blossom season in April. There is nice trail around the perimeter of the park that is very popular with joggers. As a foreigner visiting Japan, my visit to Negiri Forest Park was a great way to interact with friendly locals, enjoy the Sakura and enjoy a beautiful walk away from city crowds. Worth a visit.

#cherryblossom25 I accidently found this park on google map and decided to take a look. Turned out it's a perfect place for Hanami (admiring cherry blossom).The expanse of the area is ample, so there's no need to fret about finding a spot to perch or pitch your tent. Furthermore, the cherry blossoms in that location are breathtakingly beautiful, making it an ideal place for a group of freinds or families to relax and unwind. However when I arrived at around 12:30am the parking lots are already full. You might need to plan your parking ahead to avoid wasting time looking for spot. Motorcycle and bicyle parking space available, also is free of charge.

Negishi park has vast open fields, a great place to have a picnic and children roll or run around to their hearts’ content. It is a popular place during ume and cherry blossom season, however, no matter what time of year you can visit the Equine Museum of Japan. This museum is not only about history, but also houses the imperial carriage and many retired racehorses. #神奈川観光

#thingstodo The park is so huge you forget youre in Japan.One of the best places to picnic or play sports outside for free in the area. Very well maintained.Cheery blossom time is a super busy time out here. The park is open year round and they have public restrooms. There is plenty of space for kids to run there hearts out and there is a great walking trail all the way around the park. Loads of space for a park in Japan. Come on out and enjoy yourself. Picnic spots are great also. Highly recommended

Beautiful spot in Yokohama, best enjoyed during the cherry blossom season, however it’s a park worth visit. It was the place for the Yokohama Horse Race association and they still have the three towers, perfect for pictures. Fun fact: this park is shown in the anime movie (Mirai no mirai), when the main character is learning how to ride a bike..

Negishi Forest Park or "Negishi Shinrin Koen" is one of the largest parks in Yokohama with a surface area covering over 1800 square meters. It was originally built as a racing track in 1867, it was home to the first western style horse racing in Japan. It is a very spacious park where kids can play, and where friends and families have a picnic. It also has a jogging course around the perimeter. You can visit this park all year round. Getting there: From JR Negishi Station, ride the bus 103 or 360 to ‘Taki-no-ue’ bus stop which drops you off directly in front of the main entrance.
