Keri Caves is one of the most beautiful places to visit! Crystal clear waters, clear enough to see the colourful fish beneath you. Perfect place to do snorkelling or scuba diving, I had an amazing time trying to spot all the different types fish. 🐠 Breathtaking views over the beautiful blue sea and stunning sunsets make this a wonderful experience that will stay with you. I 100% would like to visit the keri caves again it was honestly breathtaking. 🌅 In order to visit the caves you have to go by boat but there are plenty of organised trips from nearby towns. You are also allowed to rent a boat without a licence.Some of the caves are big enough to allow a boat to enter. In others you can swim from the entrance to the inside. 🚤 If you are visiting Zakynthos I would highly recommend spending your day/evening visiting here. El Greco is a family oriented Tavern. They cook most of their dishes with domestic products from Zakynthos Island and vegetables from their garden. For almost 20 years the owner’s mother (Tina) cooks with love, following recipes that she has learned from her grandmother, while his father (Dennis) chooses the best products and ingredients for Tina’s cuisine. The beach of Keri, also called Lake of Keri, took its name from the big lake that used to be there in the old times, and which nowadays is drained. In the Lake of Keri you may find traditional Taverns and beautiful Bars & Cafes and, Diving Schools. On the coastal street one can send beautiful evenings. There you may also find the Diving schools which organise diving lessons and diving cruises, a sport that many visitors prefer. It also worths to rent your small boat or get taken by a Kaiki, to visit the splendid Marathonisi and the Light blue Caves. At the end of the coastal street there is a small port that shelters fishing boats but also the boats of the visitors. Kerì Caves, accessible only by sea with private boats or tourist excursions, develop along the promontory of Marathia Cape, in the South-West area of the island. Along the coast there are many caves which entrances scarcely suffice to get in swimming, others are broad enough to enter directly with a boat. #createwithtrip #naturewonders It took us a good hour to head up to the Shipwreck Beach (locally known as Navagio Beach) viewpoint at the top of towering cliffs. We reached in perfect time for postcard-like photos with both setting sun & turquoise-blue waters in the background. All boat tours directly to the beach had ended operations by then, returning its shipwreck precious tranquility before new hordes of tourists would reappear the following day. I half-expected a crazy-long queue at the viewing platform too, and was very pleasantly surprised to have it mostly to myself 🥳 By the way, if you’re wondering why the shipwreck looks familiar, yes, it’s that same shipwreck casted in 태양의 후예 (Descendants of the Sun) 😍
