There are monuments to poems by Ueda Akinari, a Japanese scholar from the late Edo period, and Nobel Prize winner Yukawa Hideki. I visited on October 23rd, but the signs of autumn are yet to come. Walking straight along the shrine's approach path, you'll find the sacred Katsura tree on the left side in front of the main hall. This tree is called the "Tree of Love" due to its heart-shaped leaves and the way it grows upward from its roots. It is believed to bring blessings for family love and romance. Near the sacred tree is "Somei," one of Kyoto's three famous spring waters. This rare and precious well is the only one that continues to bubble without drying up.

This can be enjoyed both in the store and as a takeaway, so it's nice to stroll around Kyoto with a bottled drink in hand. And the thing I was most looking forward to was the cold brew made with Somei water, which is only available at this store☕️Actually, water is very important for coffee, and the taste changes depending on the hardness and ph value of the water💡It is said that even if the same beans are used, the taste of coffee is different in eastern and western Japan.
