The Nan Lian Garden
#hongkongtrip #freehotelstay #mytravelhacks #localguides The Nan Lian Garden is a beautiful and serene space literally in the middle of the concrete jungle of Hong Kong. Not precisely around the corner but easily accesible with the MTR, the Diamond Hill station is a five-minute walk from the gardens. The most people people come for the striking and quite photogenic Chinese pavillion with the surrounding pond and brightly contrasting red bridge, stunning on its own right, but do take time to admire the many other features you will find in this little breath of fresh air. Not exactly an "ancient" traditional garden, this is a relatively "new" garden, built in 2006 and managed by the Chi Lin Nunnery which is located accross the street.
But it is a typical traditional Chinese garden built in the classical Tang Dynasty style with all four elements of a classical Chinese garden:
Rocks
Water
Plants
and Architecture
And as in traditional Chinese gardens, all elements are carefully arranged to create a perfect balance with nature and the environment.

Attraction: Nan Lian Garden & Chi Lin Nunnery
Location: Diamond Hill, Kowloon, Hongkong

Nan Lian Garden is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit in Hongkong. It is right opposite of Chi Lin Nunnery. We enjoyed walking around and took photos of the traditional chinese architecture plus the green surroundings and all these are for free. Yes, it is open for public free of charge which was really amazing 😅. You may include this place to visit in your future itinerary and I am very sure you are going to love the ambiance here.
Tips: Don't forget to bring your umbrellas especially during summer. 😃

Quiet Paradise in the heart of Hong Kong
The Nan Lian garden is like a paradise in the heart of Hong Kong. It offers a chance to escape the busy city life and just feel completely relaxed. Accessing the garden is very easy using Hong Kong MTR network. It is situated just across the street from Diamond Hill MTR station (Kwun Tong line and Tuen Ma line) exit C1 in Hong Kong.
After entering the park, the city noises kind of fade to the background and soon you won’t even remember you are inside the very busy city.
The garden has an area of approximately 3.5 hectares. It is designed in the Tang Dynasty-style with hills, water features, trees, rocks and wooden structures. Almost every detail is maintained so well that the whole place is just so breathtaking. It was opened to public in 2006.
Among the old buildings, there is also a tiny temple in the park. I recommend visitors to visit the temple to familiarize themselves with the Buddhist traditions but remember to behave in a calm manner, avoid loud voices and also consider other people. Some people are there to pray so respecting others is a must.
It takes about 1-2 hours to walk through the park and the temple. During that time you can forget all the busyness and just find your own inner peace. The park entry is free of charge, although some of the museums inside do have an entry fee. There are also some places from where to buy food inside the park area.

Hidden Zen Oasis in Hong Kong: Chi Lin Nunnery, Discover the Stunning Secret of Hong Kong's Little Kyoto
Located in the bustling city of Hong Kong, Chi Lin Nunnery is a tranquil oasis amidst the chaos. Known as 'Hong Kong's Little Kyoto,' this place has gradually been discovered as a perfect hidden gem for tourists in recent years. Not only is it conveniently accessible, but it is also just a five-minute walk from the Diamond Hill MTR Station Exit C2. The scenery and ambiance within the park are truly captivating.
Chi Lin Nunnery is open from Monday to Sunday, from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. Although it is a free attraction, the park is meticulously maintained. From the moment you enter, you can feel the exquisite landscaping of the pine trees, especially the neatly trimmed trees that adorn the buildings and ponds like works of art. There are also specially displayed rock landscapes, each stone full of unique charm, making you want to stop and admire. This is undoubtedly a dream spot for photography enthusiasts, whether capturing the beautiful architecture or the reflections in the water, every frame is perfectly beautiful.
The most impressive feature of the park is the Tang Dynasty-style architecture. Whether it's the golden pavilions, wooden corridors, or the waterfalls and waterwheels that blend seamlessly with nature, every corner is filled with the classical Zen of the East. As you stroll through, it's hard to imagine you're in Hong Kong, as it feels like you've been transported to the ancient capital of Kyoto, Japan. This is the charm of Chi Lin Nunnery, known as 'Hong Kong's Little Kyoto.'
Additionally, the two ponds and the small lotus garden within the park are breathtaking. The lotus flowers in the pond bloom perfectly, attracting many visitors to stop and take photos. Although small, it exudes a strong sense of nature, providing a touch of tranquility in the bustling city life.
Overall, Chi Lin Nunnery is a perfect place that combines traditional culture and natural beauty. Both locals and tourists can find solace here. From architectural aesthetics to garden design, every detail is worth savoring, allowing you to feel infinite peace and relaxation in this Zen-filled environment. It's not only a great place for a walk and photography but also a retreat for cleansing the soul.
If you are looking for a piece of spiritual sanctuary in the bustling city of Hong Kong, Chi Lin Nunnery is definitely a hidden gem you shouldn't miss.

Tan Dynasty Styled Garden in Hong Kong: Real Germ
#hongkongtrip
One of the most beautiful places in Hong Kong according to my version. An island of tranquility in the center of the metropolis. Despite the feeling of antiquity, the garden was opened relatively recently - in 2006. But this feeling arises for a reason, the garden is built according to all the canons of the traditional Chinese garden of the Tang Dynasty, observing the rules of Feng Shui.
The picturesque Nan Lian Garden is located on a Diamond Hill among the city's skyscrapers. This cozy garden occupies about 35 thousand square meters (you can walk around it in 30 minutes) and is a true example of Chinese park culture during the Tang Dynasty. Stones, trees, small ponds and wooden buildings are in perfect combination. Each element in the garden has its own place. There is an atmosphere of peace here.
In the garden, in addition to walking paths, there are exhibition halls, a tea terrace and a vegetarian restaurant. In the exhibition halls you can get acquainted with the history of Chinese architecture, stones and plants. The highlight of the garden is the Pavilion of Absolute Perfection. This is a golden building with an eight-pointed roof, located on a small island to which red bridges lead. You will see him in all the photos of tourists taken in the garden. It is worth mentioning the landscape design of the park: all plantings, paths, boulders - everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Harmony is synonymous with Nan Lian Garden.
If you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of this large metropolis and enjoy the traditional Chinese flavor, go to the Diamond Hill metro station on the Kowloon Peninsula. Nan Lian Garden is located here. The gardens of the Tang Dynasty were characterized by hilly landscapes. Mandatory elements were reservoirs, trees, rocks and wooden structures. The architecture and landscaping of Nan Lian Garden resemble nature and promote tranquility and relaxation.

Today, let's take a stroll in the tranquil Nan Lian Garden in Hong Kong.
✨ Upon entering the garden, you'll find it very peaceful and serene. The garden features a variety of plants, ponds, and beautifully arranged rocks, making it a very pleasant sight.
✨ The Pavilion of Absolute Perfection Lotus Pond is a highlight and a popular photo spot in the garden. It is located in the middle of a pond and connected by a red bridge on both sides. No matter the angle, it looks stunning.
✨ You can walk around the garden and enjoy the great atmosphere and fresh air. There are many beautiful spots for taking photos.
✨ In the evening, when it starts to get dark, the garden lights up, offering a different but equally beautiful ambiance. However, I prefer visiting during the day.
✨ From Nan Lian Garden, you can walk across a bridge to Chi Lin Nunnery. The bridge closes at the same time as the nunnery.
🚝 To get there, take the MTR to Diamond Hill Station and exit at C2. Follow the signs to Nan Lian Garden, and you'll reach the entrance in about 5 minutes.

Tourists can enjoy impressive attractions in Diamond Hill, such as the Chi Lin Nunnery and the adjacent Nan Lian Garden, which is one of the most beautiful places in Hong Kong. Both the temple and the garden are built in the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty and can be visited for free. Additionally, you will find a large residential shopping center named Plaza Hollywood located on the Diamond Hill MTR station, connecting this area to other parts of Kowloon and Hong Kong overall. Highly recommended for a visit, it's very shady inside. 🇭🇰

The magnificent building is here. Today we come to Hong Kong's famous scenic spot (Nan Lian Garden), which imitates the architectural design of the Tang Dynasty.
It is very elegant and beautiful. Here you will find stone architectural art objects, and you can also see uniquely designed wooden furniture and buildings. The building looks like ancient times, and there is also a very large fish pond with a large number of koi fish.
There is also a special restaurant here for citizens to enjoy. The food includes dim sum, steamed buns, candies, pastries, and herbal tea. Souvenir shop selling handicrafts, religious items, wooden furnishings, etc. It’s a really rare place to appreciate.
thank you for your appreciation😁

Visited a beautiful garden in the bustling city of Hong Kong called Nan Lian Garden. Don't be confused when you're searching on Google, it's located in the similar area as Chi Lin Nunnery. The vibe was calming. I recommend you to visit this place when you're in Hong Kong if you want to experience the spiritual side of it. 🇭🇰Nan Lian Garden🌳🌳
We brought our family to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 and decided to skip the shopping malls in favor of experiencing natural scenery 🌳 , so we chose to visit Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery.
The entire garden is designed in the style of Tang Dynasty art, giving it a beautiful ancient feel. Coupled with the gentle breeze, it was quite idyllic.
Inside, there are various attractions to visit, including models of wooden houses, precious stones, unique-looking pine trees, and artificial waterfalls.
It's a great place to relax, take a leisurely stroll, and appreciate the surroundings.
We didn't expect to find such a peaceful and green oasis in the bustling city of Hong Kong, but it was definitely worth slowing down to experience the tranquility and serenity it offers.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, the main hall of Chi Lin Nunnery was already closed to visitors.
😞Remember, the visiting hours for the main hall end at 4:30 pm!
Both Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery do not require reservations or entrance fees.
👉🏻To get there: take the MTR to Diamond Hill station, exit at C2, and follow the signs for a 5-minute walk.
We visited Nan Lian Garden after exploring Wong Tai Sin Temple, as it's very close by – just one MTR stop away.

Hong Kong's Best Spots for Flower Viewing, the Lotus Pond is in Full Bloom!
I didn't expect the lotus flowers in the Nan Lian Garden Pond to be so beautiful. Located in Diamond Hill, Kowloon, Hong Kong, the garden is built with a Tang Dynasty style and will exceed your expectations once you visit.
🎫Ticket: Free
Opening Hours: 7:00-21:00
The garden is planted with many ancient pine trees, making it a nice place to enjoy the scenery. However, I prefer the lotus pond even more. This season is when the lotus flowers are most beautiful, with white and pink ones blooming splendidly.
In addition to this, there are many Tang Dynasty-style wooden structures, as well as various landscapes such as strange rocks, Zi Bridge, Wu Bridge, Lotus Platform, and waterwheel mills, all of which are very attractive.
If you get tired of walking around, there is a vegetarian restaurant in the garden where you can taste the vegetarian dishes of Chi Lin Nunnery, but the prices are not very cheap.

I took my bestie to check in at the Tang-style Nan Lian Garden Pond in Hong Kong, and the photos turned out amazing!
Hong Kong has this niche spot that's perfect for a visit with your bestie!
Nan Lian Garden Pond in Hong Kong is built on the architectural blueprint of a Tang Dynasty pond. The layout is centered around water, with the terrain and valleys as the framework, and plants such as flowers, cypress, and scholar trees as the main theme, complemented by garden buildings for leisure, creating a garden landscape dominated by natural scenery. It's really suitable to dress up in Tang costumes and check in with your bestie.
