A shady restaurant by the Ping River that serves delicious scones.
#CafeReview
“Nakara Jardin” - This French bistro-style restaurant combined with Salon de Thé is part of the Ping Nakara Boutique Hotel & Spa. We arrived in the late afternoon, so our goal was to have some dessert and a light cup of coffee.
🍰🍪- Desserts -🍪🍰
➡️ Raspberry and Lemon Curd
This dessert has a soft sponge cake base, lemon curd in the center, and a raspberry mousse on top, topped with berry sauce, decorated with white chocolate, served with fresh fruits. The overall taste is a bit sour and sweet. The aroma of lemon and raspberry is clear. The texture is good. It's delicious and has nothing to complain about.
➡️ Raisin Scones with Cream and Strawberry – Raspberry Preserve
If you come to this shop, you must try Scones because it is the shop's signature dessert that is very famous. This set has 3 Scones, served warm with Clotted Cream and homemade strawberry and raspberry jam. The texture of the Scones is quite good. It smells of butter and is slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The jam has a distinct, refreshing taste that is not too sweet. You get a lot of fruit. It's really great and lives up to its reputation.
☕️- Coffee -☕️
➡️ Hot Americano
➡️ Hot Latte
Although the shop's name is Salon de Thé, the coffee here is excellent. It's medium roast, has a clear aroma, and a medium body. The aftertaste is good. It goes down smoothly without any bitterness or astringency. As for the Latte, the milk foam is soft and fine. The proportion of milk and coffee is perfect. I like it.
This shop has been open since around 2012, so it can be said that it was one of the first pioneers before the Café industry in Chiang Mai blossomed until today. What has made this shop popular for such a long time, aside from the taste of the food and various desserts, is also because of the beautiful and shady atmosphere of the shop that is hard to find in other shops. The shop's tables are an outdoor terrace with one side next to the Ping River and the other side surrounded by a beautiful and lush garden. Although most of the plants are Thai plants, the design was inspired by the paintings of Claude Monet, giving it the same feeling as a French garden. It looks so pleasant that you want to freeze time right there and sit and chill, sip a drink, and enjoy a snack for a long time. This is one of the shops in Chiang Mai that Café hoppers must visit.
