[Shizuoka] 6 stunning spots to see the blue sky
This time, we will introduce some of the most stunning blue spots in Shizuoka Prefecture that will make you want to visit in the summer.
① Dream Suspension Bridge
This popular spot is often featured in the media. The lake surface shines beautifully in emerald green and cobalt blue due to a phenomenon called the Tyndall effect.
Sumata Gorge, where Dream Suspension Bridge is located, also has hot springs, so it's fun to relax there after a walk♨
You can get there by car or Oigawa Railway and local bus.
② Mishima Skywalk
Japan's longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Mishima.
It's also fun that there are leisure facilities such as Forest Adventure attached to it♪
It's also close to Motohakone, so you can enjoy it while sightseeing in Hakone.
③ Shiraito Falls
A beautiful waterfall with a thin falling waterfall that looks like a white thread.
The contrast with the blue of the waterfall basin is beautiful♪
It's close to Mt. Fuji, so it's a spot you should visit in addition to sightseeing around Fuji.
④ Aoki Terrace
A terrace located in Izu Panorama Park. On clear days, you can see the upside-down Mt. Fuji reflected on the water surface.
You can get to the park by ropeway.
⑤ Blue Cave
Izu's Blue Cave, located on Dogashima Island.
You can see it from above or from the cove, but you can also enter it on a sightseeing boat. (You can't enter on days with high waves)
A path created by the ebb and flow of the tides, known as the Tombolo phenomenon, appears on nearby Sanshiro Island (at low tide).
⑥ Kakitagawa Springs
A spring spot located within Kakitagawa Park.
Mt. Fuji's groundwater is filtered through lava and springs out with extremely high transparency.
The water is said to be almost sterile, and there is also a water-drawing spot.

[Shizuoka] Okuoikojo Station: A scenic station on the lake
Okuoi Lakeside Station stands on Lake Okuoi, a reservoir lake with a beautiful emerald green surface.
The Okuoi Rainbow Bridge, an iron bridge of the Southern Alps Abt Line (Ikawa Line), spans the station, making it a spectacular spot that looks as if it is floating on the lake.
Even if you can't get a train ticket, you can see the station from the observation deck. The view from the Abt Line's trolley train is also very beautiful.

Sumata Gorge "Dream Suspension Bridge"
#ShizuokaTourism
A must-visit in Shizuoka is Sumata Gorge!
You can cross a suspension bridge over a truly beautiful emerald-colored lake.
If you go by car from Shizuoka Station, it takes about 2 hours.
If you go by train, take the Oigawa Railway Oigawa Main Line from Shin-Kanaya Station and then a local bus, and it takes about 2 hours.
During the tourist season, traffic on the mountain road is one-way, so you should allow about 3 hours.
The road is bad and it's difficult to get there, but it's still worth it.
It has been discovered that the water of the Sumata River, where the Dream Suspension Bridge is located, is very clean, with very few particles and plankton, all the way to the bottom. When light shines on such water, only blue light with a short wavelength is reflected, and the Tyndall effect can be seen. In other words, the beautiful blue color of the water seen at the Dream Suspension Bridge represents the beauty of the water quality.
And if you're lucky, you can meet a Japanese serow. They are not very wary of humans and will come down to very close to you.

The most beautiful suspension bridge in Shizuoka, Japan
#Japan Attractions #Overseas Travel #Japan Travel #Japan Travel Guide #Autumn Leaves
In autumn, you can see the autumn leaves in many places in Japan🇯🇵, of which I was most impressed by Inchatsu Creek, located in Shizuoka Prefecture!
Inch and creek has a fantastic suspension bridge, it is known as a place to visit once in a lifetime! ✨ Only one person can stand at a time, very narrow! The bridge rocked a little while walking, but that was exciting enough! 🤩The bottom is emerald color💚💙 And clear lake water, and all around is colorful red leaves, with different colors🎨, it's like being in a secret place! Inches and creeks open irregularly outside of the fall, but come in the fall and it's really worth a visit! 👍🏻👍🏻

Dream Suspension Bridge🍃🌈
I went to Dream Suspension Bridge on the weekend ✨
There is a line to cross the bridge.
You should be prepared to wait on weekends.
If it rains the day before, the river will be muddy, so I recommend going the next day when the weather is good 💯
The view from the bridge was also amazing 👏🏻

Yume no Tsuribashi Bridge (Dream Suspension Bridge) is in an area called Sumatakyo Hot Springs in Kawanehon. The bridge is 90 meters long and extends over the Oma Dam Lake.
From the right side of the bridge, visitors can take in the beautiful scenery of the emerald green lake surrounded by mountains. The view from the bridge of the lovely valley surrounded by nature is a one-of-a-kind experience.
The best season to visit is the summer, with its lush green, or in autumn to see the foliage. It can become crowded during those times and there may be some waiting time to cross the bridge.

[Shizuoka Prefecture, Sumata Gorge - Dream Suspension Bridge]
Sumata Gorge is located in Kawanehon-cho, Shizuoka Prefecture.
It is 90m long and 8m high, spanning the Oma Dam Lake.
This is a hidden suspension bridge that is so popular that it was selected as one of the "10 pedestrian suspension bridges in the world you want to cross before you die."
This time, I crossed this suspension bridge.
Only about 10 people can cross at a time, so you may have to wait 3-4 hours during popular times...!
When I went, there were hardly any people, so I was able to cross slowly and take photos!
The view was truly spectacular, and I understood why people want to cross it before they die!
It is said that if you pray in the middle of the suspension bridge, your love wish will come true, and it is also famous as a power spot!
There is Sumata Gorge Onsen nearby! It is close to Sumata Gorge Onsen, so please visit it after visiting the hot springs!

Majestic Mount Fuji Visible Everywhere You Go
A Visit to Shizuoka's 'Dream Suspension Bridge (Yume no Tsuribashi)'
One of the most memorable moments during my trip to Shizuoka was standing on the *Dream Suspension Bridge (Yume no Tsuribashi)*.
The long suspension bridge stretched between lush green forests, the emerald lake visible below with every step, and the awe-inspiring sight of Mount Fuji peeking out from various spots when you looked up—it was truly breathtaking. It wasn’t just a view to admire from afar; it felt like I was completely immersed in nature.
The bridge itself was longer and shakier than I expected, which made me a bit nervous at first. But even that nervousness was soon overshadowed by the scenery, leaving me with just one thought: 'I want to remember this moment forever.'
The harmony of Mount Fuji, the lake, and the forest as seen from the middle of the bridge was something that could never be fully captured in a photo—it was a sight you had to see with your own eyes. It made me realize just how grand and moving nature can be.
From the start of the bridge to the very end, it felt as though Mount Fuji was accompanying me the entire way. It was a day where I could physically feel how close Shizuoka is to Mount Fuji and how beautifully the region blends with nature.

The Dream Bridge That’s Kinda Scary (But Worth It)
#springitinerary Is one of those spots that makes you go, “Is this real life?” It’s a narrow little suspension bridge stretching across this insanely blue lake in the middle of a lush gorge in Shizuoka. The water is so clear and vibrant, it almost looks fake but it’s 100% real.
The bridge sways a bit when you walk (not gonna lie, it’s a little nerve-racking), but the views are absolutely next-level. People say if you make a wish for love while standing in the middle, it might come true, so yeah, couples are into it.
You’ve gotta hike a bit to get there through tunnels, forest paths, and up a steep staircase after. But that whole adventure adds to the vibe. Go early if you want some peace, because this place gets busy.
It’s dreamy, a little spooky, and totally unforgettable.

It is said that if you make a wish in the middle of the bridge, it will come true, and it is also popular as a power spot to improve your love luck🤩
