Words can't describe how truly majestic and serene this place is. One of the last stops on my trip through Tibet was NAMTSO LAKE. This was the most vibrant lake and it stretched on for ages. It lies at an elevation of 4,718 meters or about 15,500 feet and is the largest salt lake in the autonomous region. Getting to the lake was an especially unique experience. After checking in to get out entrance tickets, we boarded an eco friendly bus and travelled 20 minutes to get to the lake. It is very serene and well preserved. There is also a monastery near by to visit. It was quite windy during our visit so I highly recommend a jacket and ear warmers. Nagen (那根) was one of the most awe-inspiring places I’ve ever been. That day was windy and cold 🌬️❄️, and the crisp mountain air made the whole experience feel even more mystical. As I hiked up the winding paths, I was blown away (almost literally!) by the ancient Buddhist carvings 🪨🙏 on the stone—each one seemed to hold a story from centuries past.
