Strolling Through the Comic Corners of Seoul's Myeongdong
Walking through the comic street in Seoul's Myeongdong feels like stepping into a fantastical world of the second dimension. The murals on both sides of the street are lifelike, with comic characters peeking out from the walls, their vibrant colors instantly catching everyone's attention. This place is not only a paradise for enthusiasts but also a world full of childlike wonder and creativity. Each artwork carries its own story and emotions, making people stop and admire them closely.
Along the way, I was constantly drawn to those familiar characters, from classic Korean comics to globally popular cartoon figures, as if I were walking through childhood memories. The small shops along the street are also very distinctive, with stalls selling comic-related merchandise and creative handmade items. Each shopfront is filled with laughter and surprises from the crowd.
Sunlight spills over every corner of the comic street, illuminating the colorful walls and bringing the street to life. Walking here, it feels as if everyone has become part of the artwork. This little street gives me a unique sense of joy, finding pure and innocent fun amidst the bustling city.

V. Precautions
1. Language issues: Although you can have fun without speaking Korean, it is still necessary to learn a few simple daily expressions, such as "Annyeonghaseyo" (Hello) and "Gamsahamnida" (Thank you). You might even make Korean friends! If it doesn't work, use translation software, but don't expect it to be completely accurate. Sometimes it will give you some funny translations, which will make you laugh and cry!
2. Cultural etiquette: It is important to understand Korean cultural etiquette, otherwise you may make a joke inadvertently. For example, in South Korea, don't make a loud noise while eating, otherwise it will be considered very impolite!

Here we go!
A walk around Seoul's shopping district
Myeongdong is back; your one stop shop for Korean goodies and a tourists paradise. During COVID it was very empty but nowadays it's back and running with most shops reopened.
If you need to get souvenirs from Korea, head here. Clothing, cosmetics and snacks are the most popular! Also head here for great currency exchange rates where cash is useful for topping up your transport card and paying for things at traditional markets.
Also, you'll be in luck for a feast of different restaurants and street food snacks. They're less Korean but still fun to try out if you're there! A definite must visit if you're in Seoul!

[Myeongdong, Seoul, Korea] Myeongdong Hamburger Toast, a hot sandwich stand that's only open in the morning
I went to the Myeongdong Hamburger Toast stall in Myeongdong, Seoul, Korea.
This hot sandwich stall is only open from 7:00 to 10:00 in the morning. The menu lineup is the standard cheese, ham, and vegetables.
Aside from hot sandwiches, they also have kimbap and kamaboko oden, and you can also buy banana milk (banana milk) from Korean food manufacturer Binggrae, which is a favorite of tourists and locals.
■Ham & Cheese Toast 3500w
A basic egg sandwich with ham, cheese, and cabbage. The toast is toasted with plenty of butter, and the sweetness of the cabbage ketchup is exquisite.
It seemed like more local customers than tourists came to buy it. It is located in front of Nature Republic on the main street right next to Myeongdong Station.

Myeong Dong 🍋 🇰🇷 Korea
#seoultrip
Myeong Dong is the toruisty hub of Seoul, at day it's full of shoppers, coffee shops and handcrafts.
By night it's bustling with street food, lit up by neon billboards and it has a great buzz.
Myeong Dong is where we booked our hotel and we were thankful we did. It's central to the city and made walking to the different attractions very easy.
At night when we were looking for restaurants, we had so many options at the foot of the hotel too.
The cathedral is at one end and Seoul Station the other, making it a great place to start your day if city touring.
If reccomend heading to the district at night unless you are looking to go shopping 🛍️

🇰🇷 Myeongdong, Seoul, Korea
"Jang Geum Chijimi"
A local-loved ethnic izakaya that was also visited by a certain popular Japanese TV program
===========
A local-loved ethnic izakaya located behind the Sejong Hotel in Myeongdong, Seoul, Korea, where you can enjoy royal-style chijimi and jeon with makgeolli.
A restaurant visited by actor Shinobu Sakagami in the Korean edition of Nippon Television's "Another Sky" in February 2023.
The chijimi and jeon in the restaurant are its specialties, but you can also enjoy Korean dishes that are popular in Japan, such as fried chicken and kimbap.
▼Omuktang 16,000w
A Korean-style oden pot simmered with fish paste and vegetables. It is skewered like the oden at Korean food stalls, and the oden eaten at Korean homes is said to be made into a hot pot.
The broth is excellent! It's so addictive that you'll want to drink it all up. The flavor of the soup stock is also soaked into the fish paste and vegetables.
▼Grilled salted shrimp 15,000w
Shrimp is placed on top of coarse salt and grilled. It is said that autumn is a seasonal dish in Korea. You can taste shrimp that are larger than those in Japan and have a stronger flavor.
▼Kimbap/Korean-style seaweed roll 4,000w
Korean seaweed roll kimbap prepared by the owner every day. It contains standard ingredients such as tamagoyaki (egg roll), pickled radish, ham, and vegetables. The flavor of sesame oil and white sesame seeds is the best taste.
▼Banchan
In Korea, several types of small side dishes are served. This time, there were four types: bean sprout namul, Chinese cabbage kimchi, oden bokkeum, and wakame stems. The number of dishes has increased from before, and they have put a lot of effort into the contents.
I've been here many times and everything I eat is delicious. You can enjoy the taste of Korean home cooking. The owner speaks Japanese perfectly, so you can rest assured.
It's open until 1:00am, so it's a very convenient and delicious restaurant for a late dinner or if you arrive in Seoul late.

Hidden fancy cocktail place- Cobbler
This is hidden fancy cocktail place in Myeong Dong, we read the reviews and it says that is not easy to find this place because it’s hidden. I get what it means when I was looking for this place.
This cocktail place is hidden in Level 4 with no sigh board, when we first arrived this place, we thought we entered the wrong place because the whole floor is so dark! Until we heard a faint cocktail shaking sound behind the wall, so we started to look for the place and quite certain that this is the right place.
The design of this bar is so nice and unique, we really love the ambiance and service. They offer many interesting cocktails which looks really pretty! However, we think the alcohol content are too little for us, no “kick”, we feel more like drinking a nice juice or flavour drink.
But gotta say that this is a really nice place to chill, they serve sweet potatoes chips for the snacks and also chocolate. It’s free flow as well. Not sure if I would recommend this place, up for you to decide 😉

Cheap food in Myeong Dong
We discovered this cheap place in Myeong Dong, can you believe this meal is only less than SGD 20?? We ordered a bowl of bibimbab and fish cake with tepokki, it taste so authentic and my husband love it! He said this is one of his too 3 food in Korea!
The bibimbab looks simple, but it taste fantastic! It come with a free seaweed soup and free flow kimchi and radish. The tepokki is very nice too, it’s so soft and chewy, not too sweet and not too spicy, just nice! Initially we were afraid that this place will be crowded, but surprisingly this place is full of locals, not so busy when we came.
I will say must come here and get when you’re in this area.
