[2025 Depok Stay] Travel Guide for Mustika Yogyakarta Resort and Spa (Updated May)

Marriott has only one Marriott and one Sheraton in Yogyakarta. Marriott is much newer. Both locations are relatively remote. But Sheraton is closer to Prambanan. Finally I chose Sheraton. 🏨＞ Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta Resort & Spa This Sheraton is built on the mountain. The lobby is located on the 7th floor. The guest rooms are located below the lobby. It will be a little bit uncomfortable. The rooms on the upper floors can basically see the volcano. If you have any needs, you can tell the front desk in advance. Would like a room with a volcano view. As a platinum member, I was given a room with direct access to the pool. The room style is a fusion of Javanese characteristics, but overall it is a bit old. Although it has undergone a simple renovation, But you can see that the original yellow wood trim was just painted white. The interior of the bathroom is in the same style as the guest room. Because of the age, there is no dry and wet separation. The shower and bathtub are designed as one. Very inconvenient. The breakfast is very local. There are many local foods. It's worth a try if you are curious. But most of the Indonesian dishes are hard to describe. This is when the hotel's continental breakfast becomes more beneficial. This hotel is extraordinary!!! It has a very big area which is very green and it also has a magnificent swimming pool. For some rooms, you can also book some which offer direct access and view to the other long swimming pool. Perfect place for a staycation in Yogyakarta! Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta Hotel is a 5-star accommodation that located in the heart of Yogyakarta City, what i love the most about this hotel is their strategic location, you can reach many icon of yogyakarta city by walking distance, such as: Alun Alun Yogya and Malioboro Street. This is my 3rd time stay in this Sheraton Yogya, and i stayed at their Silver Room. I really love the ambiance of the silver room, the design is full of silver color, feels so luxury and cozy. And i think this kind of room is newly renovated cozy it brings modern room design. This time i want to share my experience when i stay at Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta Hotel. Sheraton Mustika is a 5-star hotel that located in the heart of Yogyakarta City. This place is near the old Yogyakarta’s International Airport. This hotel is so huge and has mix between Javanese and Modern Interior designs. This time i stayed at their Javanese nuance room, the room is nice and there are several Javanese ornaments in it. There is bathroom inside and the amenities is complete. For the Bfast, they have many kind of dishes. The special one is they have Roasted Chicken, Rawon Soup, Gudeg (Yogyakarta’s traditional food), etc. I recommend you to booked a room that include breakfast. Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta has many facilities such as: Fitness Area and Unique Swimming Pool. Their pool is designed similar like Taman Sari (The water castle in Yogkarta, in the past it was a place of recreation for the sultan and his wives). When you stay in this hotel, can easily find restaurants and souvenir shops near this hotel.
