#MacauAttractions The Security Forces Museum of Macau is a museum located in the lobby of the Macau Security Forces Affairs Bureau at Alley of the Barracks in the Macau Special Administrative Region. The entire building is in pink Portuguese architectural style, which stands out among the surrounding buildings. The Security Forces Museum displays military and police items of historical value and items used by the former security forces. In addition to actual military items in use, the museum also displays photos of the former security forces, building models of the Security Forces Affairs Bureau (i.e. Gaslan Barracks) and the Guanzha Border Inspection Building, as well as various types of police vehicles and real police equipment. It's also nice to come in and take a look around and learn about the development history of Macau's police force. Ticket price: Free admission

This is a small, ground floor exhibition space with around 10 displays, featuring historic Macau Police and Security Forces gear, equipment and memorabilia. The museum is open 9-5.45pm (Monday-Friday) and 9-5pm (weekends and public holidays). Here you can see uniforms, police station equipment, arms, two cannons, motorbikes. We liked seeing the historic pictures, showing the barracks here and Ave. Praia Grande back when it was a coastal road just before the sea during the early 20th century. All can be conveniently viewed in 10-20 minutes. Overall, this is a highly specialised museum that is probably better suited to locals who have relatives in the police and security forces. There isn't much to see here that will likely be that interesting for most visitors to Macau. As such, we'd suggest concentrating your time and effort elsewhere and on more interesting and important attractions.

"The Macao Security Forces Museum" is located in the lobby of the Macao Barracks Xie Xiang Security Forces Affairs Bureau. It was opened in 1984 and was originally named the Military Museum. It was renamed in 2004. The museum displays equipment and items used by the Macao military, police, and security forces with historical value, uniforms of different styles from different eras, and precious historical photos. Visitors can also tour the garden inside the Affairs Bureau, which was converted from a historic fortress. The museum's collection records the history of Portugal's military deployment and police evolution in Macao for more than 400 years.
