During the Paleolithic Age, late Homo sapiens were already active in Lijiang. During the Warring States period, it belonged to the Shu Prefecture of the Qin Kingdom. The hotel is fully integrated into the surrounding environment of the ancient city, combining Naxi, Tibetan, and Tea Horse Road cultural elements. It is a great choice for off-peak travel. The handsome guy at the hotel front desk also upgraded me to a deluxe suite for free. It's so beautiful. When I came to Lijiang, I stayed at the InterContinental Hotel next door, so I am very familiar with the surrounding environment. The breakfast buffet is also at the InterContinental Hotel, which is very good. I also went to the ancient city for a walk, a wonderful time.

What an amazing time I had in Lijiang, at every corner there is a new photo to take and a new view to take your breath away. Walking the Ancient Town’s streets, one can truly understand why it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with such immense beauty and authenticity. I could truly walk those streets for days! I highly recommend Mu’s Mansion, which has such vibrant colours and a short walk up the hill leads to a beautiful panoramic view of the Ancient Town. The food and drinks in Lijiang are also wonderful. With beautiful tea and so many coffee shops to try, which have many unique coffees to enjoy, such as a rose coffee that I had. I really enjoyed the local foods in the market, including rice noodles and yak! You can’t leave Lijiang without trying the rose cakes either. And to top it all off, the imposing and majestic view of 玉龙雪山 (Yulong Xueshan), which provides such a dramatic element to the city. The only negative thing I can say about Lijiang is that it is really bad for my phone storage, as I now have so many beautiful photos taking up space! Yulong Snow Mountain is a mountain range within Lijiang, belonging to the Hengduan Mountains. It is bordered by the Tiger Leaping Gorge to the west and stands alongside Zhongdian Snow Mountain. Located 5 kilometers north of Lijiang, it unfolds like a fan facing the ancient city. The highest peak, Shanzidou, reaches an altitude of 5,596 meters. Thirteen snow-capped peaks stretch from south to north, resembling a giant dragon taking flight, hence the name "Yulong" (Jade Dragon). Because it is mainly composed of limestone and basalt, black and white, it is considered a sacred mountain by the Naxi people. Jinmao Purelax Mountain Hotel is located opposite Yulong Snow Mountain in the Ganhaizi meadow area at an altitude of 3,200 meters.
