Many giant statues are lying on the top of the mountain, which is over 2000 meters high. I visited at sunset and was moved by the divine view shining in the crimson color. It is several dozen kilometers away from the town at the foot of the mountain, so it was not easy to access, but I am glad I went. #Breathtaking view #Secret place

📍Adiyaman This trip happened just because of my love for Turkey and its history. I had visited once with a tour, and this time I decided to do a road trip across the country. 🚩Travel Route We landed at Adiyaman Airport, coming from Istanbul. Make sure to check the airport carefully as flights to Adiyaman are only available from SAW Airport (Istanbul has two airports: IST and SAW). 🚇How to Get to Nemrut Since we planned to drive throughout the trip, it turned out to be quite challenging due to the cold weather and light snowfall. Driving up was scary because some parts of the road were covered with snow, making it slippery and almost impossible to reach the top. If you want to go up, I recommend asking the hotel for a tour. They offer a one-day trip for about 1,000 Baht. Even though it was difficult to drive up the mountain due to the snow-covered roads, we decided to walk the remaining 1 kilometer. The view at the top was worth it. It is an ancient tomb with gigantic statues standing majestically on the summit. If you love hiking and history like me, you will be thrilled. Nature lovers will also be treated to unforgettable views. 💡Tips Turkey has its own language, so if you are in the suburbs or not in the capital, it can be challenging to find English speakers. If you are unsure about any information, take your time to think and gather information before making any decisions.

The mount is located in southeastern Turkey, far away from city. We flew from Istanbul to Adiyaman then had a road trip. When we started to enter remote area, we had security check done by police where our passports were checked. The jaw-dropping view at the top of the mount is worth all the efforts. It was amazingly beautiful that I wanted to cry. If I can go there once again, I would!

Part of it has to have something to do with how hard or easy it was to get to a place. But this site just blew. Extremely unique place. Firstly, ever since i saw picture of it online. I was excited but didn't know what to expect. The site is incredible with all those statues and ruins. The location so out of the way and unexpected. It's difficult to get here, I mean you need to have your own transport or take a tour. My problem with tour was that it tends to be too many people and knowing it will have to be early in the morning. They advertised it as sunrise tour. I was glad dto eventually find some people to team up with and we arranged our own transport. Best part, you get there slightly later and herds of tour bus tourists are on their way back leaving the whole place to you. Mount Nemrut is the largest mountain around and you can see the summit and tumulus atop for miles around. The site is also a tomb. Around the tumulus, facing the rising and setting sun, are a series of statues representing the late king and various gods. So impressive by any standards, but the location is what really makes the site something not to be missed. It was a very nice drive through valleys and hills and the climb up to the statues is a long trek.
