Nemrut Mountain in Adiyaman, Turkey.
📍Adiyaman
This trip happened just because of my love for Turkey and its history. I had visited once with a tour, and this time I decided to do a road trip across the country.
🚩Travel Route
We landed at Adiyaman Airport, coming from Istanbul. Make sure to check the airport carefully as flights to Adiyaman are only available from SAW Airport (Istanbul has two airports: IST and SAW).
🚇How to Get to Nemrut
Since we planned to drive throughout the trip, it turned out to be quite challenging due to the cold weather and light snowfall. Driving up was scary because some parts of the road were covered with snow, making it slippery and almost impossible to reach the top. If you want to go up, I recommend asking the hotel for a tour. They offer a one-day trip for about 1,000 Baht.
Even though it was difficult to drive up the mountain due to the snow-covered roads, we decided to walk the remaining 1 kilometer. The view at the top was worth it. It is an ancient tomb with gigantic statues standing majestically on the summit. If you love hiking and history like me, you will be thrilled. Nature lovers will also be treated to unforgettable views.
💡Tips
Turkey has its own language, so if you are in the suburbs or not in the capital, it can be challenging to find English speakers. If you are unsure about any information, take your time to think and gather information before making any decisions.

Mount Nemrut, An Unforgettable Hike
#mountainhike #turkey #nemrut
This is one of best travel experiences I have ever had in my life. Hiking Mount Nemrut to the summit in autumn is very hard. The mount is located in southeastern Turkey, far away from city. We flew from Istanbul to Adiyaman then had a road trip. When we started to enter remote area, we had security check done by police where our passports were checked.
The jaw-dropping view at the top of the mount is worth all the efforts. It was amazingly beautiful that I wanted to cry. If I can go there once again, I would!
