Hiking Mount Gede Pangrango
Gunung Gede is a mountain in West Java that has a very high attraction for the hikers on the island of Java. Mount Gede has three official gates, namely National Gede-Pangrango Park (Cibodas) Halimun-Gede National Park (Sukabumi), & Gunung Putri (Cipanas). This time I will review through Cibodas. Normally trip to cibodas approximately 3 hours from Jakarta if you were not got the traffic jammed. If you are from Jakarta city, you can use public transportation to Bogor city (bus). From Bogor, you can continue the journey to Cianjur using a small vehicle, a colt or angkot, until Cibodas intersection. From there you can continue using the angkot to the gate or basecamp or PHPA Cibodas office to take care of the permits. Please note, if you want to hike Mount Gede you have to take care of the permit 3 days earlier & if you have never climbed before, it is advisable to use the services of a guide or porter to anticipate the worst, although actually the signs on this route is quite clear. Gunung Gede has beautiful scenery at its peak, duration for beginners approximately 10 hours. So prepare yourself as well as you can to enjoy the hike. The water source is quite abundant on this route, so there is no need to worry about the lack of water.
Have a safe hike & keep our earth clean.
