Its highest altitude is 2572 meters, and it is one of the earliest places in southern China to rise from the sea to land, and the top of the mountain still retains the geological wonders of the original Honghuang 1.4 billion years ago. Fanjing Mountain is a national nature reserve in China and a World Natural Heritage site. The total area of the area is 775.14 square kilometers, the heritage area is 402.75 square kilometers, and the buffer area is 372.39 square kilometers. Fanjing mountain - a dream
We came to climb the mountain just a few days before the Chinese New year holiday and we found that there were not too many people. We stayed near the entrance so that we could just walk to the ticket office once we finished our breakfast. currently the ticket is free if you are Chinese but I had to pay 70 rmb. I think it was half price because of the winter season. we took the cable car up and walked the rest up to the mushroom stone. If you travel in Guizhou this is a must see attraction. However, it's different from the pictures in Google I was fooled by as they are made by drone (2d picture) and you will see it from another perspective 😁 It's still an amazing sight! Loved it😍 The tickets need be purchased 1 day in advance (in our case at least), so you can stay for the night nearby or in Jiangkou (they didn't do nucleic test for foreigners in Fanjingshan in July ) When we went there, it was packed with tourists, so on the way back we decided to go down on foot (99.9% take a cable car up and back). Don't do it without proper shoes and if you are not supersuperhikefan, as most of the way is through woods and not so special apart from a few spots, but your legs may hurt for a few days having made 10k steps down 😁#fanjingshan #guizhou

Getting There - Train to Tongren station (Guizhou), then a 1.5hr drive to the scenic area. There are drivers waiting around the entrance who will eagerly take you to Fangjingshan. We organised with our hotel in advance for 60rmb per person. Attractions - Gorgeous mountains views. Don’t go on a public holiday. We thought it wouldn’t be as popular as other sites, but it took us 3 hours of lining up to get in. The cable car line up was then an additional 2hr wait, so we opted to hike up instead (so peaceful!) Hotels - stay at the base of the mountain, not in Tongren city as it will take all day to explore the mountain. Food & Restaurants - bring food with you. Options are limited once you enter the scenic area. #mountainview

The Mist-erious Fanjing Mountain
As part of the Wuling Mountain range in the southwest of China (namely, Guizhou province), Fanjing Mountain is one of the key attractions there. It was named as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2018, and is quite a striking landscape to look at. You've probably seen it pop up when looking at pictures of Guizhou in China. The most striking feature about this mountain is the singular tall spire that extends more than 100 meters above the surrounding mountaintops. At the top of this spire sits two temples that are sepearated by a narrow gorge and connected by a bridge. We had hoped to see this site on a day with clear weather, unfortunately we were out of luck and on the day of our visit it was super misty and raining! But that still didn't deter us from climbing to the top of that spire, even if just to say we had done it. #momentsmission

Mount Fanjing is an amazing art of nature and human beings. Here, you will be surprised by not only those different shapes of Layer-by-layer ancient rocks(the most famous one is mushroom rock, god knows how long it take to form like this), but also those super steep hilltops( 老金顶Ancient Hilltop & 红云金顶Red-cloud Hilltop, both hilltop with ancient temples, wonder how the ancients get to build temple there). From the mountain top, you can also enjoy the valleys, one of my favorite. Guizhou - Tongren - Mount Fanjing
Visiting Mount Fanjing was a truly surreal experience and I would recommend it to everyone. We got a train from Guiyang to Tongren early in the morning (6am-7.34am) and quickly checked into our hotel. We then got a taxi to the site which took an hour and cost 220rmb. We arrived at 10am and walked to the ticket office. We paid 260rmb for a ticket that included entry, shuttle bus passes and cable car journeys. I would recommend this ticket type as the journey to the top was very long! I would also recommend arriving a lot earlier than we did, we waited about 2 hours to get off the cable cars due to very long queues. The site itself is open from 6am. The mountain itself is absolutely breathtaking. There are multiple temples, peaks and summits to explore as well as the outstanding views. The star of the show has to be the Red Cloud Golden Peak summit which is home to two Buddhist temples with a stone bridge connecting them. The temples are 2336m above sea level, it’s incredible to see! We spent 4 hours exploring the site, it’s a lot of walking and climbing so wear sensible shoes. You are also extremely high up so the weather is much cooler and it rained. I would recommend taking a rain coat and jumper. Once you have completed your trip and reached the car park, you are spoilt for choice with restaurants. It is also very easy to get a taxi back into Tongren. #hiking #naturalwonders #summervacation

In the early morning light, I stepped onto the stone steps leading to Fanjing Mountain, surrounded by mist, as if entering a fairyland. As I ventured deeper, a sea of green unfolded before my eyes, with ancient trees towering above. The mountain breeze brought a slight chill, refreshing my soul. The winding path appeared and disappeared among the mountains, with the distant and near bird songs echoing through the valleys, like nature's whispers, bringing a sense of peace. Reaching the mountainside, a vast expanse opened up before me. Looking up, I saw the sacred Red Cloud Golden Summit of Fanjing Mountain standing above the sea of clouds, majestic and imposing. During the climb, the mountain mist gathered and dispersed, the sea of clouds rolling like a silver ocean. As the sunlight pierced through the clouds, the peaks sometimes vanished and sometimes emerged, changing like a dream. Finally standing at the summit, overlooking the entire sea of clouds, I was filled with awe, as if standing between heaven and earth, forgetting the hustle and bustle of the world. This journey to Fanjing Mountain felt like a spiritual cleansing, experiencing the silent tranquility and grandeur of nature in this cloud-bound paradise.

The Fanjing Mountain Heartwarming Concert is like a warm fire, with notes dancing in the cold and warming the heart. #梵净山 a breath taking must see view. There’s two peaks in fact an older Golden peak and a newer cloud peak. The older peak is actually taller than the new peak. MUCH recommend to take the Main East entrance then shuttle bus and able car. It’s 9.5km up hill with the shuttle bus and around 2000m up the cable car. You can see most of the peaks within a few hours. It goes mainly in a circular one way up and one way down and definitely tourist friendly, however still need to be good health to climb those steps :).
