A Day in Mojiko
Located at the northern tip of Kyushu, Mojiko was an important trading port in the early days. As a result, the retro area is home to many Western-style commercial buildings from the early 20th century. Even the Mojiko Station hall is decorated in a quaint and beautiful style.
The Mojiko Retro Area, which is right outside JR Mojiko Station, is a pleasant seaside area. Walking here feels like stepping into a different time and space. Key attractions include the Blue Wing pedestrian bridge that opens and closes at regular intervals, the Railway Museum, the Old Mitsui Club, the Former Moji Customs Building, and the Mojiko Observation Deck.
The Mojiko Observation Deck ticket costs 300 yen. Although the view from the deck is not as dazzling as that of a bustling metropolis, the ticket is cheap, and you can still enjoy a cup of coffee up there. If it's mealtime, you must try the baked curry. The charred cheese paired with the rich curry is especially delicious. It was so good that I even bought a curry pack to take home.
After visiting the retro area, a half-hour walk will take you to the Kanmon Bridge pedestrian underpass. The Kanmon Strait is the sea between Kyushu and Honshu. After crossing it, you will reach Shimonoseki in Honshu. Therefore, a 15-minute walk through the Kanmon Bridge pedestrian underpass allows you to experience the fun of traveling from Kyushu to Honshu. It's worth taking a stroll.
🕰️ Mojiko Observation Deck Hours: 10:00-22:00

Mojiko Retro District and Mojiko Station
Visiting Mojiko Retro is truly an impressive experience, especially for those who are fascinated by European-style architecture and classic retro atmosphere. The photos taken while strolling through this area clearly reflect the beauty and unique charm of the place.
Mojiko is close to the sea and mountains, offering a diverse and breathtaking scenery. Walking along the pier, you can feel the cool breeze and the refreshing scent of the sea.
There is a symbol commemorating its twin port relationship with Laem Chabang Port in Thailand, which further emphasizes the connection between the two cultures and significant trade. Mojiko Retro thus stands as a remarkable place that reflects the history and international relations.

Located at the seaside between Kyushu island and mainland of Japan, you can see both sides without any disruption from here. It is an observatory on the 31st floor. You'll get there in 45 seconds by high-speed elevator. You can see Moji Port, Iwaryu Jima, Dannoura in Shimonoseki, and Kanmon Bridge. The ships that come and go are going back and forth without losing to the flow of the Kanmon Bridge. Nice and relaxing place. This place is wonderful. It has a European vibe to it, which makes it a memorable visit in Japan. So if you are around the area and wants something other than usual castles, go to Mojiko Retro. Although I forget how much I paid, it was cheap and worth it.

The Classic Taisho Era Station 'JR Mojiko' - A Fusion of Western and Japanese Architectural Styles.
Mojiko is located between Kyushu and Honshu and was once an important international trading port. It still preserves many historical buildings from the Taisho era, such as the Old Moji Customs and the Old Moji Mitsui Club, showcasing the prosperity and culture of the past. The biggest highlight of Mojiko is its well-preserved historical district, where carefully restored relics display various architectural features that blend Western and Japanese styles. It's like stepping back into the Meiji and Taisho periods, witnessing the scene of large merchant ships from around the world docking at Mojiko for trade. When you visit, it's recommended to start at the rustic wooden Mojiko Station and leisurely stroll to the Strait Plaza, admiring numerous buildings from the Meiji and Taisho periods along the way and experiencing the unique Taisho romantic atmosphere.

💫 MOJIKO . FUKUOKA, a seaside port city with a European feel.
💫 Mojiko, a European-style seaside port city. The evening atmosphere is a very romantic time.
Another place to visit in Fukuoka Prefecture, Kitakyushu City, that I would like to recommend is a city that is different from other cities in Japan. Both architecture and buildings are a mix of Western styles, giving a European vibe. It is said that in the past, Mojiko was the name of a prosperous port that used to do international trade. Therefore, it received culture from the West along with trade at that time.
You can travel as a one-day trip from Fukuoka city, taking about 1 hour. Fern traveled by car as usual. As for traveling by JR Kagoshima Line, you can get off at Mojiko.
If you have a plan to visit Fukuoka, save Mojiko in your plan. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I absolutely love liberté✨
This is the first time I've tried their peach since they opened last year🍑
I was torn between the rare cheesecake and the tart...
Since it hadn't been showcased on Instagram yet,
I decided to go with the rare cheesecake🫧
It was irresistibly delicious♡
The sweet and juicy peach was arranged like a rose,
and there was peach syrup all around!
I found the peach and lavender soda on the menu💜
Even the word 'soda' is too cute...🍑
The fizz is irresistible!
The bottom is filled with domestic peach syrup and chunks of peach!
Just looking at these sweets makes me happy✨
I must go back soon to try the tart🍑
The person next to me ordered baked curry,
and I haven't tried their food yet, so I'm curious✨
Thank you for the meal🫧

Under the fiery red sunset, Moji Port is a haven of tranquility and beauty
During the Dragon Boat Festival, I enjoyed a trip to Kyushu, Japan, soaked in the mountain hot springs, and then visited the seaside Moji Port to experience the charm of a blend of Eastern and Western cultures.😼😼😼
❤❤❤My favorite part is the preservation of many European-style buildings here. It's no wonder it was one of the famous ports that connected with Western culture in the past. And there are many Japanese elements when you least expect them. The combination of East and West is very perfect.😍😍😍
I especially like to check in at its landmark train station, where the hustle and bustle of the day and the tranquility of the night complement each other.
And don't miss out on the local cuisine here—the grilled curry flavor is amazing.👍👍👍

KitaKyushu, the gateway to Kyushu, is a great day trip.
#Sakura2024 KitaKyushu, the gateway to Kyushu, the northernmost point of Fukuoka
It is located in the northernmost part of Fukuoka Prefecture, with the north facing the Sea of
Japan. This route is actually quite interesting. There are many places to visit. You can organize a 1-day trip not far from Hakata.
For the trip, we took the Sonic train from Hakata
to Kokura Station and then transferred to the JR Kagoshima
to Mojiko Station, which took about 1 hour.
(Even though there is a JR Northern Kyushu Area Pass, you cannot
take the Shinkansen from Hakata Station to Mojiko.)
The specialty of this city is that in the past it was a trading point with other countries. Mojiko Port is a large international shipping port in Kyushu. As for Mojiko Station, it was inspired by the train station in Italy, making the atmosphere
look retro. Whether it's the train station, the buildings, or the train station itself, it's very old. It is also the first station building of the Kagoshima Line.
For those who like taking pictures, this is very chill. There are many buildings with a vintage feel.
It looks like they are in Europe, such as the former Osaka Shosen Building, which is a shipping company built in 1917. It is a beautiful octagonal building. In this area, there is also a bridge called "Full Wing Mochi". You can watch it when the bridge is lifted to let the ships pass through. It is opened in rounds.

!! Tuen Mun Si Kong must play Top6:
1: This is an important navigable port of Kyushu Island in Japan. Because it was opened very early, it was traded with Europe in 1889, so there are many western buildings here. Recommended visit: Mitsui Club.
2Appreciate the Moji Port Railway Station: It is one of the oldest railway stations in Kyushu. It was built in 1914. The design of the all-wood structure retains the appearance of the Taisho period and is an important national culture of Japan. property.
3Visit the Kyushu Railway Memorial Hall: The museum is parked with earlier steam locomotives and various retro models that have been retired. Even if it is not a railway fan, it is worth punching. Remember 4

At the entrance of Moji Port Station, today we can still see the main means of transportation of the times - rickshaws, rickshaws perfectly blend with the romantic nostalgia of Moji Port, if you can wear kimono and raft, bring a Japanese-speaking Friends, elegantly sitting on the rickshaw, I am afraid to make myself feel like crossing. The breeze gently smashes the face, and the nostalgic buildings slowly recede behind them. The hospitable driver will show you the interesting stories of the city in addition to the fun places. After the port opened, it brought the development of shipping trade to the region, from the ancient The Moss Port Railway Station is opposite the Port of Moji Port. It is now operating ferries and cargo ships to Shimonoseki and Stern Island.
Because the port is on the west side, if the weather is good, it is a good place to watch the sunset. Bring a tripod and wait around 5 o'clock in the fall. You can see the sun falling from the sky to the cargo ship like salted egg yolk, and then falling into the sea from the cargo ship, very beautiful. I really want to hold the promise of a human hand to make a living under this beautiful sunset.
The day is basically black, the Shimonoseki Ferris wheel on the other side lights up, changing from yellow to green and color, and the night's wonderful begins again.
