Moganshan is a place that offers quite a lot, from busy touristy places, picture worthy spots, beautiful nature and lots of adventures. I’m always up for some adrenaline rush so I went and did white rafting. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to take the best pictures while rafting😅. I also did a couple of other activities such as paragliding, hot air balloon ride and quad biking (which was incredibly exciting). The Quad bike ride was definitely the best for me cause we rode for about 40 minute through different terrains (muddy roads, rivers, dusty roads, rugged roads etc). You might need to bring an extra set of clothes cause you will definitely need to change after the activity. PS. I wasn’t that much impressed with the hot air balloon as we didn’t actually go anywhere😂. We just went up, then got back down and that was it lol. We went to this cute and cozy place, surrendered with a lot of little stores where you can find lovely souvenir from the city and some drinks and art made over there. 🏨 The place where we stayed is called Shuimoxipan Guesthouse, the hotel that only have a couple of rooms, have friendly staff, a big and beautiful pool with a deep part for the adults and a shallow part for the children, and a perfect localization, close to the small valley. 🗺 Around 2 hours driving from Changzhou, but you can easily get the speed train to get there. Moganshan main area has a few options for food, we chose this DejaVu bistro style place for dinner one evening and lunch the next day. The food was tasty and enjoyable. Prices here range from 58RMB to 228RMB but they have a large variety of options. From soups, pasta, steak and pizzas, I’m sure everyone would find something they can enjoy. The bistro has 3 main areas to sit and enjoy, the downstairs, the very lit up upstairs, or the garden style balcony upstairs as well. The coffee shop lies on the corner of the main town area in Moganshan. While the owner speaks Chinese only and the menu is also only in Chinese it’s a nice and easy place to stop and relax. Drinks range from 26RMB to 46RMB and cakes are more expensive at either 38RMB or 48RMB. I tried the Mango cake and it was delicious! The coffee shop is attached to a miniature museum that gives the history of Moganshan and the travel between nearby cities (Shanghai and Hangzhou) from 1920 China to now. It’s interesting to see how Moganshan has developed while visiting an open and airy coffee shop. Hiking in Moganshan is a popular activity as there are many hills around the area. If you are a nature lover you will enjoy spending time in Moganshan. Hiking there is a pleasure as you will see a green scenery along the whole journey. The highlight of hiking in Moganshan is to see the colourful flowers everywhere, specially if you visit during spring season which is the best time to visit this place. There are bamboo forests, gardens and amazing mountains. If you are in Shanghai, this place is 200 kilometres away. You can arrange private driver and stay there overnight. I would even suggest two or three nights trip. There are many guesthouses and hotels with amazing facilities to choose from. Getting There - We used a private tour company from Shanghai to Moganshan Attractions - The bamboo forest and the snow mountain. Hotels - It was a day trip but there is quite a few home stays in the area for accommodation. Food & Restaurants - Local Chinese restaurants in the neighbourhood. A very great experience of being in the bamboo forest 🌳 . A great experience to admire the nature and the snow mountains. The tour was planned by a private travel agency. They treated us to a local Chinese meal 👌 and after that we proceeded to our hike. Moganshan is a perfect place for a quick getaway. Though there is no airport or train connection, you can easily get there by bus or taxi from either Hangzhou or Shanghai, though Hangzhou is much closer. Within the town there are plenty of places to stay. You won't find any big hotel chains, but that's the beauty of Moganshan. Every place here is unique. Yes, there are luxury hotels, but the best places to stay are the smaller hotels that only have a couple of rooms. You can even rent out the entire space. While you are there, you can get to the top of Moganshan by taking the shuttle bus. Personally, I would have enjoyed hiking up, but it's all along the roads plied with busses. Luckily, on my way down, I found a different path that cut through the bamboo forest.

Mogan Mountain is a famous mountain in the northern part of Zhejiang Province. It is located 60km north of the provincial capital of Hangzhou City and is known as a summer resort and sightseeing spot. It is 720m above sea level, and it is said that during the Spring and Autumn Period, swordsmith Ganjiang of Wu and his wife Mo Ye forged swords in the mountains, which is where the mountain got its name. There are many springs, ponds, and waterfalls, as well as flower fields and bamboo forests. Getting there- Take the fast train to Hangzhou, or change to Deqing station and from there hire a didi or taxi to take you on to your hotel. Attractions- MoganShan is known for its beautiful, lush green scenery. The best way to enjoy it is by relaxing outdoors or going on a hike in the surrounding area. We walked around Laolingcun scenic area, which provided beautiful views and had restaurants for lunch. Another option is ‘Discovery adventures’- if you are interested in high rope courses or rock climbing then this is a great activity Center to try some new things. Whilst we were there it was extremely quiet and peaceful, would recommend as a relaxing break from the city! #staycation

If all you are looking for is a green scenery with fresh air, then Mogashan is the perfect place. this city has amazing trails for you to walk and enjoy the mountains, vegetation and beautiful bamboo forest. there are variety of hotel with great views. downtown is small and lovely with many coffee shops, souvenirs stores and Bars! in spring expect lots of flowers as you can see in my pictures. Getting There - Take the high speed train from Shanghai to Deqing. Around 200 RMB for 2 pax Attractions - Moganshan National Bamboo Forest and other outdoor activities (hiking, temples) Hotels - Emerald Whisper Hotel or other boutique hotels in nature (can be expensive depending on if you want to stay on the mountain or not). Food & Restaurants - Mostly Chinese local food, Old Station Coffee shop The Mogan bamboo forest is 115 RMB per person and includes a shuttle from the ticket office up the mountain to the scenic point. You can also choose to take another mini bus to drop you at selected locations inside the park at an additional cost (or you can walk in the nature). There are many other tourist sites to visit within Zheijing province but it is recommended to use a car to go from place to place or Didi (depending on how long you stay there). #nationalpark
