Weekend trip to Bazhou for hot springs. We drove about 1.5 hours from Sanlitun in Beijing to get to a Hot Spring hotel called Mingtang Hot spring Resort. They have indooor and outdoor hotspringa as well as swimming pools, two infinity pools outside and a large pool inside. Our room also had private pools. When we arrived we got free coupons for afternoon tea in the coffee bar. In the evening we found a hotpot restaurant downtown in Bazhou and a KTV. The town was transformed into a dreamlike world of lanterns, with traditional lanterns, large installations, and red silk lights adorning the streets. Walking hand-in-hand with my loved one, it felt like we had stepped back in time. We were treated to over 40 spectacular folk performances, including stilt walkers, flag shows, drum performances, and cart dances, with additional shows from Beijing and Tianjin. The newly built Dabei Zen Temple has become one of the four major Guanyin temples in the country, along with Putuo Luojia Mountain, Hainan Nanshan Temple and Tibet Potala Palace, with its complete halls, solemn icons and unique layout. When you walk into the mountain gate, the first thing you see is the Tianwang Hall. Passing through the Tianwang Hall is the white marble open-air Guanyin.
