Ming Shuwang Tomb Museum - Explore a real underground palace.
"The Ming Tombs in the north, and the Shuwang Tombs in the south." The Ming Shuwang Tombs are the largest and most exquisite of the Shuwang Tombs. The Ming Shuwang Tombs are the collective name for the tombs of the Shu King and his family members, which are distributed in Longquanyi District, Shuangliu District, Huanglongxi, Chenghua District, Phoenix Mountain, and Renshou County, Meishan City. Longquanyi District is the most concentrated area, with 23 sites and 26 tombs discovered through archaeological surveys. Among them, the Xiwang Tomb is the most representative. The Xiwang Tomb is extremely luxurious, reflecting the top level of Ming Dynasty architecture and carving art. It is a valuable cultural heritage left by the ancient working people to future generations.
The Xiwang Tomb is the earliest discovered Shuwang Tomb in Chengdu, and it is also the most beautifully decorated underground palace among the discovered vassal king tombs. The underground palace is built in the style of the Shu King's Mansion (today's Tianfu Square), with a layout of three courtyards and three halls, and a depth of 8.91 meters from the ground surface. It is known as "the most exquisite underground palace among ancient Chinese tombs."
Zhao Wang Zhu Binhan was the fifth grandson of Zhu Yuanzhang and the eighth generation of Shu King. This tomb was discovered during the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway in 1991 and is a joint tomb for Zhao Wang and his wife. The tomb is divided into two parts, front and back, and the remains of the Heng Hall, the palace gate, and the suspected "Ming Tower" were excavated. The Zhao Wang Tomb has been robbed many times in history, and the tomb robbers' holes can still be seen in the underground palace. The most exquisite thing in the underground palace is the "Two Dragons Playing with a Pearl" picture.
