[Rishiri Island] Enjoy seasonal flowers and spectacular views at Rishiri Island's largest high-altitude marsh! Minamihama Marsh
Minamihama Marsh, located in the Oniwaki area of Rishiri Island, is the island's largest high-altitude marsh, covered with sphagnum moss.
A boardwalk trail stretches about 1km in length, and about 113 species of plants bloom in full glory, including skunk cabbage in spring and ferns, cotton grass, and irises in early summer.
In autumn, the ferns turn red, creating a beautiful scene as the entire marsh is dyed red. It is surrounded by a forest of red spruce trees, and on clear days you can see the majestic Mount Rishiri.
A hidden spot with few tourists, where you can quietly observe nature and take photos. At night, Mt. Rishiri reflected in the Menushoro Swamp and the starry sky are fantastic🌟
