Shiroi Koibito Park (白い恋人パーク) is a theme park by Ishiya, a local chocolate company. The company's flagship product and one of Hokkaido's most famous souvenirs is the Shiroi Koibito cookie, which consists of two thin butter cookies and a layer of white chocolate in between. The park consists of a free area with a shop, cafe and restaurant and a paid area with various chocolate-related exhibits and, most interestingly, a few large windows through which visitors can observe the cookie production process in the factory. It is also possible to create your own cookies in hands-on workshops. Another part of the Shiroi Koibito Park is a soccer field that serves as the practice ground for Consadole Sapporo, the local professional soccer team.

The Ōkurayama Ski Jump Stadium (大倉山ジャンプ競技場, Ōkurayama Janpu Kyōgijō), also known as the Ōkurayama-Schanze (大倉山シャンツェ, Ōkurayama Shantse) is a ski jumping venue located in the Miyanomori area in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan. Owned mostly by Sapporo City, the ski jump is on the eastern slope of the Mt. Okura. The stadium has hosted a number of winter sports events including 1972 Winter Olympics and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007. The area of stadium consists of the Winter Sports Museum, the Ōkurayama Crystal House, and the Mt. Okura Observation Platform, as well as the ski jump.

The Historic Village of Hokkaido (開拓の村, Kaitaku no Mura) is an open air museum in the suburbs of Sapporo. It exhibits about 60 typical buildings from all over Hokkaido, dating from the Meiji and Taisho Periods (1868 to 1926), the era when Hokkaido's development was carried out on a large scale. There are four different sections: a town, fishing village, farm village and a mountain village. The Hokkaido Museum (北海道博物館, Hokkaido Hakubutsukan) documents the history and nature of Hokkaido and is located about a ten minute walk from the open air museum. The museum focuses on five main themes, including Ainu culture, history and wildlife.

Takino Suzuran Hillside National Government Park is the only national government park in Hokkaido. Within the 400-hectare grounds there’s a colorful flower garden, large playground equipment, three waterfalls, and a forest that’s perfect for a stroll, making it a popular site for Sapporo citizens and tourists. Also open in the winter season, the park changes its name to “Takino Snow World” sometime around Christmas time. Admission is free in the winter, and you can enjoy various types of snow play. The 250 meter long, 7-degree ski slope is perfect for a child’s first skiing experience. There are a total of six cross country skiing courses available, from the 1 & 5 km courses for beginners, the 3 & 6 km courses for intermediate, and the 10 & 16 km courses for the advanced. The family lift ticket costs ¥200 for adults, and ¥150 for junior high school students and younger (1 ticket). Ski equipment rentals are available (slope skis are ¥2,960 for adults, and ¥1,940 for junior high school students and younger, cross country skis are ¥840 for adults, and ¥520 for junior high school students and younger).

Just a 10-minute walk from Sapporo Station, this pedestrian-only street is one of Hokkaido’s oldest shopping streets, with a history dating back to 1873. It’s also one of the largest shopping arcades, spanning around 900m and seven blocks and boasting around 200 shops. Tourists love the restaurants selling Sapporo specialties like miso ramen and soup curry, the stores where you can stop for an Shime-Parfait like a true Sapporoite and the stores selling favorite local souvenirs. But what sets Tanuki Koji apart from other shopping streets of its kind is its role as a local hub, Where there is something to suit everyone’s needs.

Odori Park is an oasis with 92 types of trees including lilacs and elm stands located in the middle of a business district. On its lawns and around its fountains, one can find locals and tourists alike relaxing. Odori Park is called a park, but it’s really a street. In 1871, a firebreak, which cuts central Sapporo into is northern and southern parts, was built. The firebreak became Shiribeshi Dori, which was renamed Odori. Odori Park, which is usually a very calm and relaxed space, is also used for many of Hokkaido’s best-known seasonal events, such as the Snow Festival in the winter, Lilac Festival in the spring, YOSAKOI Soran Festival and beer garden in the summer, and Autumn Festival, which brings together various Hokkaido cuisines, in the fall.

#SeptemberDestinations2025 This Suwa Shrine in Sapporo has become an internet sensation thanks to its Sanrio amulets, including Sanrio goshuin during the New Year period. The shrine itself is quite small, but to suit the season, behind the torii gates are decorated with colorful umbrellas, yellow and blue windmills, and a few wind chimes. The wind makes the windmills spin like blossoms, and the chimes resonate and melodiously, creating a dazzling atmosphere. In front of the shrine steps, a large circular ring made of special plants is woven. It's said that circling it in the reverse order of the Arabic numeral 8 wards off misfortune and prays for peace. There are benches near the entrance, perfect for a rest if you're not in a hurry. The amulet shop boasts a dazzling array of designs, making it easy to find something beautiful and unique. They also offer adorable Sanrio amulets.

The Otaru Aquarium was truly eye-opening, especially the interaction with the sea creatures, which left a lasting impression. Then, we headed to Sapporo, where the city's atmosphere was bustling yet comfortable. At night, we savored Genghis Khan lamb; the rich aroma paired perfectly with an ice-cold beer. The breathtaking scenery of Lake Toya was truly soothing. We even made a special trip to Showa Shinzan to experience the awe-inspiring volcanic landscape. The most surprising experience was taking a speedboat out to sea to feed the seagulls, who circled around us. It was an unforgettable experience. We stayed in a youth hostel, which was clean and comfortable, and I met many fellow travelers sharing their experiences. As for the food, the seafood donburi was incredibly fresh, and the ice cream was incredibly smooth and sweet. Finally, we visited a local supermarket, picking up souvenirs and snacks to bring home a taste of Hokkaido. This trip blended nature, culture, food, and everyday life—a relaxing and fulfilling experience. I highly recommend it to everyone who has the chance.

Visiting Jozankei in Hokkaido for the first time, I was fortunate to choose this hotel. From nearby attractions to the hotel's facilities, everything was so abundant and impressive that it left me in awe! Let me introduce them one by one. 🌿 "Jozan Gensen Park" ~ 1-minute walk from the hotel. 🌿 "Jozankei Onsen" ~ 2-minute walk. 🌿 "Jozankei Shrine" ~ 6-minute walk. 🌷 "Futami Park" ~ 3-minute walk. 🌷 "Futami Suspension Bridge" ~ 6-minute walk. 🌹 From June to October every year, there is the "Jozankei Nature Luminarie" show at night, and this year marks its 10th edition! The show takes place within "Futami Park," accessible via the Futami Suspension Bridge. I took the Rapid 7H (towards Hoheikyo Onsen) and got off at "Jozankei Onsen Town" after about an hour. From there, it's just a 2-minute walk to the hotel. 💫💫 Here's a little tip: "Shika no Yu" and "Hana Momiji" are two separate hotels, but they are connected by a passageway. Guests from both hotels can use the facilities of both, including the onsen and breakfast! #familytravel Today is the last day in Hokkaido. Such a beautiful place to be at for holidays. Travelled 1300km by car from New Chitose -> Furano->Biel->Asahikawa->Mt Moiwa->Otaru->Shakotan->Lake Toya->Hakodate->Noboribetsu->Sapporo. Thousands of pictures taken. Stayed in various hotels and airbnb. Tried many delicious food from convenient stores, kiosk, cafes and restaurants. But still have a lot of food left to try and places to be explored. It offers free admission to the general public on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It showcases the history of Hokkaido railways. The museum features a wealth of exhibits, including locomotive markings, lifelike cut-away models of rolling stock, driver's cabs, cut-away models of electrical equipment, and railway history. Outside, a steam locomotive is on display, making it a worthwhile visit. The Railway Technical Museum is a two-story building displaying used steam locomotives, train panels, signs, dioramas, and authentic Kiha 82 and Alpha Continental taxis. Access: Take JR Naefusa Station and walk to the museum. Naefusa is only one stop from Sapporo, making it very convenient.

Its quaint red brick building has been designated a Hokkaido Heritage Site. The first floor features limited-edition items and delicious draft beer. The second floor features historical instruments and materials related to the beer production process, which are free to visit. There are also restaurants and the Ario Shopping Center nearby. The Sapporo Beer Museum showcases over 140 years of Sapporo beer production history.
